This is a high-level international award given by the Environmental Education Foundation to the best beaches and marinas, whose indicators of quality, cleanliness and livability lead the program's ranking.
\nThe French initiated the establishment of the certificate, and from the end of the 80s the triumphal march of the symbolic Blue Flag began across the beach spaces of the world (currently about 60 countries are involved in the program).
\nThe prize is issued for a period of one year, after which the nominee must again confirm his right to receive it. On the azure coasts of the Northern Hemisphere, certificates are renewed in early summer, while the Southern Hemisphere, including the Caribbean, is inspected in November.
