Fertile soils and mild climate make it possible to collect wonderful grapes here, from which excellent wine is made. It is considered by many to be the best in Germany.

Franconian wine is popular, it is in increasing demand both domestically and abroad. More than 38% of Germans associate Franconia, first of all, with wine or, for example, with pot-bellied, flask-like Bockbeuthel bottles. The best Franconian wines include such well-known brands as Müller-Torgau, Sylvaner, Bacchus, Kerner and the well-known Riesling. Wine these days means more than one or two glasses of a pleasant and aromatic drink. Its connoisseurs want to know exactly how the grapes are grown, to see with their own eyes where this aromatic wine is made, to get acquainted with the customs associated with it, and, finally, to learn how to drink it correctly. The answers to these questions are provided by the program “Franconia – the land of wine and beauty”

This project is the result of the efforts of the Franconian Tourist Office, the Franconian Association of Winegrowers and the State Department of Viticulture and Agriculture of the State of Bavaria. Within the framework of this project, you can get a variety of useful information about all wine regions of Franconia, specialized seminars are held here, information is provided on thematic trips around the region, as well as excursion tours, programs such as “Vintners and their wine”, “Night at the farm “,” Hotels and Restaurants “,” Vinotek “,” Wine Festivals “. In the Wine Festivals section, site visitors should pay attention to the Sommeracher Weinfest, which will take place from 11 to 14 July.
