Turkey<\/a>‘s resort Kemer<\/a>, which our tour<\/a>ists love very much, is a small town on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea<\/a>, almost 40 km away from Antalya<\/a> airport, located<\/a> in the southwest. It is comfortably nestled between the steep, steep peaks of the picturesque green Taurus mountain range. Kemer has a mild Mediterranean climate. The sun shines almost all year round, but thanks to the unique microclimate, even in the hottest period – in July – there is never stuffiness. In winter, the water temperature drops to 17-19 \u00b0 C, and in the summer beach season, the water temperature is around 27 \u00b0 C. A heavenly place is this small town in Turkey<\/a>, Kemer, where the weather<\/a> happens in the winter months, it rains, but the rest of the time the sun shines here.<\/p>\n

What is Kemer?
\nThis resort is very popular with tourists<\/a> today. Its location has been car<\/a>efully thought out and planned, making it the ideal holiday<\/a> destination now. This colorful area<\/a> is also rich in historical heritage. This is evidenced by the ancient ruins preserved in the nearby territory. People in this area have settled since ancient times, but, unfortunately, not so much information has been preserved about the history<\/a> of the place called Kemer in Turkey<\/a>, which, usually, are of great interest to tour<\/a>ists. Only a few legends<\/a> have survived, in which you can believe or not believe.<\/p>\n

According to one of the surviving legends, the name of the city<\/a> goes back to Homer's poem “Iliad”. In it, the author tells about a Chimera living in this area, the owner of a lion's head, a goa<\/a>t's body and a dragon's tail. Flames burst from her mouth, which to this day are visible on the top of the low mountain Yanartash, which means a volcano.<\/p>\n

Well, of course no one would be building a resort next to a volcano. Kemer in Turkey<\/a> is a comfortable resort, not a place for an extreme vacation<\/a>. And you can still admire the ghost of a fire-breathing monster here. It's just that a small release of gas occurs on Mount Yanartash, which, when in contact with air, quickly and brightly ignites. The sight is enchanting, especially at night, and safe.<\/p>\n

What is worth see<\/a>ing..
\nTourists<\/a> are interested in the ruins of the ancient cities<\/a> around Kemer in Turkey<\/a>, built in the III century – Olympos and Phaselis. The city<\/a> of Olympos has long served as a haven for sea<\/a> pirates. Here you can see numerous ancient stone tombs and sarcophagi with bizarre bas-relief images. The ruins of an antique bath complex and a basilica, an ancient dam have also been preserved here. All these attractions<\/a> of Kemer are of great interest<\/a> to foreign tourists.<\/p>\n

\"Rest<\/a><\/p>\n

In 1916-1917. the inhabitants of the village, which was located at the foot of the mountains, built a long, 23-kilometer protective stone wall, saving them from the natural disaster. Every year mudflows fell on the village from the mountains, so they encircled the mountain with a wall. Hence the name of this area – Kemer, which literally translated from Turkish means “belt”. In general, there are many attractions<\/a> in the Turkish resort of Kemer that are worthy of the attention of vacation<\/a>ers:<\/p>\n

– The ruins of the ancient cities<\/a> of Olympos and Phaselis.<\/p>\n

– Cirali with its long pebble beaches<\/a>. And also, this is one of those rare places<\/a> where the Caretta-Caretta sea turtle, one of the symbols of Lycia, is found.<\/p>\n

– “Burning Mountain” Yanartash (near Cirali)<\/p>\n

\u2014 Moonlight Park<\/p>\n

– Yoryuk Park, where there is a live exposition of everyday life, household items of nomadic Turks.<\/p>\n

– Central Ataturk Boulevard, where a monument is erected in honor of the founder of modern Turkey, in front of which there are dancing fountains<\/a>. On Tuesdays, there is a bazaar on Kemer Boulevard in Turkey<\/a>, where local residents offer visit<\/a>ors fruits, vegetables, and spices. Nearby is the central bus<\/a> station for intercity buses.<\/p>\n

– Beldibi Cave, where traces of Paleolithic human settlement have been preserved.<\/p>\n

– Goynuk Canyon is almost 14 km long, 350 meters high and 6 meters wide. Hiking and horseback riding trips are organized here.<\/p>\n

– Ropeway in the village of Tekirova with a length of 2365 meters.<\/p>\n

– Mira is the most ancient city<\/a> where Nicholas the Wonderworker served.<\/p>\n

Modern resort
\nBut tourists come to Kemer not only to visit places of interest, wander through the ruins and get acquainted with ancient legends. This resort area is rich in a variety of landscapes: gentle azure water in combination with high mountain ranges overgrown with lush dense greenery, fragrant pine forest<\/a>s, approaching the coastline with a dense wall, small quiet and cozy coves with little population. People come here to relax<\/a>, swim and have fun. Tourists are attracted by landscaped beaches<\/a>, clear sea, fresh sea air saturated with the aroma of pine resin and pine needles, majestic ancient mountains descending to the warm transparent sea, wonderful seafood cuisine. Kemer rest<\/a>aurants will always offer a large assortment of fresh fish meze dishes, collection aromatic wines Dolluja Valley, deliciously cooked crayfish and other delicacies of Turkish cuisine. The Mediterranean Sea<\/a> of \u200b\u200bKemer in Turkey, on the coast of which this town is located, creates such favorable conditions.<\/p>\n

The suburban villages, as well as the city itself, includes numerous hotel<\/a>s in Kemer: from inexpensive, modest, but rather cozy family boarding houses to luxurious comfortable five-star hotels<\/a>, where all the conditions for comfortable living, good rest, and fun entertainment are created.<\/p>\n

The resort also attracts lovers of boat trips. Kemer is the largest yacht port. Those who wish can spend an unforgettable time during one – two week cruise<\/a>s or one day sea trips on gulets.<\/p>\n

Fans of the underwater world<\/a> can see up close a French military ship that sank off the coast of Kemer and lies at a depth of 33 m.
