Even during the occupation of Paris, Russian officers often looked into the restaurant “La Mere Catherine”. However, they were unhappy with the slow service. It is believed that the restaurants were called bistros, since it was the Russians who urged the waiters with the words “Quickly!”.<\/p>\n
