In Krasnaya Polyana<\/a> there are many historical, cultural and natural sights that every self-respecting tourist should definitely visit. Here once writers and public figures of the Soviet Union liked to spend all their free time, celebrities were treated and residents of the vast country from different parts of it simply came to admire the picturesque nature.<\/p>\n

Dolmens<\/h2>\n

Especially for Nicholas II, a hunting house was designed at a height of more than a kilometer above the sea. To get to the center, tourists should get off at the Rosa Khutor<\/a> public transport stop. There is also car parking for those traveling by private car.<\/p>\n

Axes, knives, tools, clay products – all this and much more regularly falls into the “archaeological network”. It will be interesting for tourists to look at the remains of an ancient structure, dilapidated due to hostilities and under the force of nature, walls and towers.<\/p>\n

You can get to an interesting place by minibus to the village of Esto-Sadok (for tourists who leave Sochi, minibus number 105 is suitable). After getting off at the bus stop, move upstream along the Laura River. The walking route is about 3 km.<\/p>\n

Olympic Village<\/h2>\n

From June to October, the village is calm, but still the Rosa Khutor recreation center is open to visitors. But in winter, it will be difficult to book a room due to the large flow of people who want to climb the peaks of the Stone Pillar (2509m) and Rose Peak (2320m) peaks, as well as democratic prices for accommodation.<\/p>\n

Waterfall Brothers<\/h2>\n

The 12-kilometer path in both directions and 400-meter elevation changes provide for comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen, as well as plenty of food and water – the place is untouched by civilization and there is nowhere to get food.<\/p>\n

Waterfall Maiden's Tears<\/h2>\n

The waterfall has such a name due to the legend about the love of an ordinary girl for a mountain spirit, who were not destined to be together because of the envy of an evil sorceress. Refusing the old woman's offer to break off relations with her beloved, the young beauty threw herself from a 13-meter cliff in the place where water is now continuously pouring, breaking on stones.<\/p>\n

Waterfall Polikarya<\/h2>\n

The highest waterfall in Sochi, and according to some sources in Europe, is located on the northern slope of the Aibga ridge at a height of 72 meters. Among the people, it is better known as “trousers” or “heroes” due to its shape and strong seething streams during the snowmelt period.<\/p>\n

There are three ways to get there: making your way through abandoned forests and roads to the K-13 cable car; get to the “Gorki-gorod”, and from there go by cable car to a height of 960 meters, which will take a couple of hours; buy a tour to the waterfalls for 800 rubles and be there in 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

For those who like to “dissolve” in nature, the first option is advised, as you will be surrounded by breathtaking landscapes along the way. In the summer, tourists take swimsuits to take a shower under the receding waters of the Polikar.<\/p>\n

Khmelevsky lakes<\/h2>\n

Lake Kardyvach<\/h2>\n

It is not so easy to get to the largest lake (133,000 sq. m.) in Sochi – 44 km from Krasnaya Polyana to it lie between two mountain ranges, and the gorge passes through dense forests, but photographs of hikers from the tour to Kardavich convince that it's worth it.<\/p>\n

For 8 months a year the lake is covered with ice and heats up in the midst of summer to a maximum of 12 degrees Celsius, and the air temperature around Kardavych on the most exhausting hot days is 20 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n

The reservoir looks beautiful and frightening at the same time – in the ideal surface of the lake the bottom is visible from any point of view, the water in it is crystal clear.<\/p>\n

Bears, deer and other living creatures are found around Kardavych, while even fish do not live inside him. If you are lucky enough to visit here, take care of warm clothes and a pass to visit these and other places, as they will not let you in without it.<\/p>\n

Jitaku Lake Valley<\/h2>\n

An independent trip to the Dzitaku Valley, also known as Semiozerye, will cost 1,500 rubles (for the pass and use of the cable car) or from 5,000 rubles for a guide. If in the early morning you are not too lazy and go from the Greek bridge along the path through beech and fir forests, subalpine meadows and streams, then after 4 hours the four famous peaks of Aibga will appear to you in all their glory, named after the Abkhazian tribes who once lived at the foot of these mountains.<\/p>\n

Two peaks, the “Black Pyramid” and “Stone Pillar”, can be reached by chairlift, or you can do it yourself, saving money. At the top, you will have a small reward in the form of a walk along a suspension bridge, as well as the opportunity to see foggy Russia on one side, and sunny Abkhazia on the other. It will take a whole day to conquer all the points, but with the help of hanging trailers you can keep within half a day.<\/p>\n

The park also houses Finnish saunas, salt caves, massage rooms, exotic spa treatments (fish peeling), a gym and a Mediterranean restaurant.<\/p>\n

Children under 6 years old, birthdays under 16 years old and children with disabilities upon presentation of documents are provided with a free admission. The water park is open every day from 11:00 to 22:00. On weekends there are entertainment events for which you need to buy a separate ticket.<\/p>\n

Aviary complex Laura<\/h2>\n

Here, in the cottage complex, you can rent a house, go to the sauna and rope park. The aviary complex is available every day from 9:00 to 17:00.<\/p>\n

Apiary “Honey Paradise”<\/h2>\n

The top ten purchases include honey soap with various herbs and propolis, raccoon, fox and arctic fox fur vests, ceramic mugs from Kuban masters depicting local landscapes and herbal teas with mountain healing herbs and berries.<\/p>\n

Ahtsu Gorge<\/h2>\n

Looking at the huge vault between limestone layers, densely planted with broad-leaved and fir forests, one can believe in one of the versions about the translation of the name of this gorge – “the place where the lightning struck”.<\/p>\n

The cultural and historical monument at a distance of 50 km from the city center<\/a> brings not only aesthetic pleasure from observing landscapes, but also historical value. It is known that the Kepshinskaya cave inside the gorge served as a haven for people of the Paleolithic era.<\/p>\n

In addition, monuments to the engineer Konstantinov, who paved the way to Krasnaya Polyana, now closed, and the Red Army are also located here and are a mandatory item on the program. The river valley, 10 meters wide, was formed as a result of an earthquake and is located in a remote place that can only be reached by SUV. Tourists who love a comfortable stay or at least hike along the paved paths bypass the canyon – dozens of stone ledges covered with moss slide under their feet for 2 km.<\/p>\n

In a small lake of azure color between two rocks, you can swim and dine in a nearby cafe, and then either return home or go further and enjoy a shower under the falling waters of a turbulent river.<\/p>\n

Akhshtyrskaya cave<\/h2>\n
