Letna Park<\/h2>\n

The Old Town Embankment offers a picturesque view of the hill covered with greenery, which adorned the left bank of the Vltava River – the famous Letna Park or Letinsky Gardens. Emperor Rudolf II gave the park its final appearance in the form of an English landscape style at the end of the 17th century. Until 1804 Stromovka was closed to the people. Today, the park attracts with its wide alleys and green glades, where Praguers like to have picnics.<\/p>\n

In summer, lakes surrounded by weeping willows bloom with an abundance of lilies, filling the area with the voices of waterfowl. Here you admire the flowering and aromas of the rose garden. Coniferous plants and blue spruces serve as decoration of the park all year round. Walks in Stromovka can be combined with a visit to the most modern plane<\/a>tarium in the city.<\/p>\n

Garden of Kinsky<\/h2>\n

The Kinsky Garden is an English park on the slopes of Petrin Hill in the 20s of the 19th century, Rudolf appeared thanks to Rudolf Kinsky, who bought land in this place. In the Kinsky Palace, expositions of the National Museum of Culture and Life of the Czech people are deployed, master classes in crafts are held. Kampa Park is an island<\/a> with an area of \u200b\u200babout 3 hectares, washed on one side by the Vltava River, and on the other side by the Chertovka stream, man-made in the 12th century. The landscape close to our time was formed by the end of the 17th century. The lower park with growing plane trees stretched along the banks of the Vltava. The park, located<\/a> at the top along Chertovka, is covered with centuries-old chestnuts, maples and beeches.<\/p>\n

Since the Middle Ages, only one mill has remained here with a colorful cafe located in it. From its windows you can see<\/a> the wonderful landscape of the Vltava. While walking, stop by the Kampa Museum, which introduces the 400-year-old dynasty of bakers who owned mills here. The park has several gardens with landmarks and the English garden Kaiserstein with a baroque palace known as Liechtenstein.<\/p>\n

You can visit Kampa Park from April to the end of October from 8.00 to 19.00, from November<\/a> to the end of March – from 8.00 to 17.00, by trams: 12, 15, 20, 22, 23, 41 – stop: Hellichova.<\/p>\n

Park Zvezda<\/h2>\n

The Zvezda Reserve Park appeared in Prague in the 16th century thanks to King Ferdinand II of Habsburg, who in 1558 erected a palace in the forest<\/a> thicket in honor of his beloved wife, Filipina Welser. The mansion in the shape of a six-pointed star, built in the Renaissance style, was decorated with skillful murals made by painters from Italy<\/a>. The rest<\/a>ored palace<\/a> today houses a museum dedicated to the battles on the White Mountain.<\/p>\n

The park is equipped with gazebos and benches for relax<\/a>ing, harmoniously blending into shady alleys, beech and oak groves. It is open to visitors at any time of the year. You can visit the Zvezda Palace from May to September from 10.00 to 18.00, in April and October until 17.00 for 60 K\u010d. On Monday, the palace is closed to visitors.<\/p>\n

You can get to the park by trams 15, 22,25, following to Vypich – final stop No. 15 or by trams No. 1,2 and 18, get off at the final stop Pet\u0159iny and go to the end of Zvezda Street, turning right onto Libock\u00e1 Street, where you will see the entrance to the park.<\/p>\n

Sacre-Cor Park<\/h2>\n

A high hill overlooking the Prague district of Smichnov adorns a picturesque park with the French name of Sacr\u00e9-Coeur. From 1872 to 1919 it housed the convent of the Heart of the Lord. Now Sacr\u00e9-Coeur is a municipal park, delighting with velvet lawns and flower beds, deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees. It is surrounded by a hedge of ornamental shrubs and trees.<\/p>\n

The multi-stage relief made it possible to create playgrounds for young people and children with a curving slope, attractions<\/a> and exercise equipment on the hill. Benches are installed in the park, sitting on which it is good to admire the panorama of the New City from the height of the hill. You can get to this green oasis of Prague at any time of the year directly from the building of the Novy Smikhnov shopping<\/a> and entertainment center<\/a>. In it, from the second floor, a suspension bridge is equipped to the park or climbing the hill by stairs from Kartouzsk\u00e9 street.<\/p>\n

In 1832, at the behest of Burgrave Karel Chotek, a city park was laid out in the English style. In the landscape of the gardens you will see ancient hornbeams, interesting<\/a> landscape gardening objects.<\/p>\n

The landscape of a romantic lake with islets in the form of flower beds and a stream flowing into it, flowing from a grotto – a monument to the Czech playwright Julius Zeyer with marble statue<\/a>s of the heroes of his works, is delightful. Zhitkovy Gardens<\/h2>\n

The surroundings of the Zhitkovy Gardens are Palacky Square, the Vltava embankment, D\u0159evna Street and the square near the Emmaus Monastery. Their unpretentious landscape design<\/a> appears in the form of a rectangular lawn, surrounded by trees, flower beds and comfortable benches. A feature of the Zhitkovy Gardens is the central part, located below the level of the entire area. They go down the stairs to her. In the eastern side of the gardens rises the original 16-meter monument to legionnaires and soldiers who died in the First World<\/a> War.<\/p>\n

It appears as a sculptural composition of figures of seven legionnaires, led by a soldier holding a banner in his hands. The park is usually not crowded, filled with people on holidays<\/a>. The Royal Garden is the most luxurious, well-maintained and largest green oasis in the Prague Castle area, located on the north<\/a> side near the Royal Palace. The arrangement of the Royal Garden began by decree of King Ferdinand I in the middle of the 16th century in the Renaissance style. In the 18th century, its landscape with garden and park architecture and the palace acquired a baroque look.<\/p>\n

Walking through the modern Royal Garden, you enjoy not only magnificent landscapes, statues and fountains<\/a>. The fa\u00e7ade and baroque interior of the restore<\/a>d Summer Palace of Queen Anne, the interior design of the Myachovna gaming hall conquers. It is interesting to see the restored villa of Eduard Benes and the greenhouse, to walk along the sightseeing<\/a> walking road to the Lower Deer Moat.<\/p>\n

The garden is open from April to October. You will find the main entrance next to the Prashny Bridge. Trams no. 22, 23, 41 go there – stop Kr\u00e1lovsk\u00fd letohr\u00e1dek.<\/p>\n

Voyanov Gardens<\/h2>\n

Passing through Malaya Strana, not far from the Charles Bridge<\/a> or the Wallenstein Palace, you will see a gray wall with an arch leading to the earthly paradise – Voyanov Gardens. Entering there, you find yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of a cozy English park with lush greenery, an abundance of flowers and walking peacocks. Here, in addition to orchards, fragrant rose gardens and ponds with fish splashing in them, medieval sights<\/a> delight.<\/p>\n

The early Baroque view of the St. Elias Chapel, built in the form of a grotto and a statue of St. Joseph in the chapel, fascinates. The monastery wing will surprise you with a sundial of the 17th century with the image of St. Theresia. The northern side of the park is interesting for its baroque chapel with an amazing ceiling painting. Going out onto the observation terrace with the sculpture of St. John of Nepomuk, enjoy the view of the city landscape.<\/p>\n

Entrance to the Voyanov Gardens is free, open from 8.00 to 17.00. They are followed by trams No. 1, 7, 11, 12, 15, 20, 22, 23, 25, 41, 97 to the Malostransk\u00e9 n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed stop.<\/p>\n

Riegrovy gardens<\/h2>\n

Riegrovy Sady is a picturesque recreation area, occupying 11 hectares within the city, behind the central station. The park was created in the 19th century and was named after the Czech politician Riegr, to whom a monument was erected here. A variety of trees and shrubs gives the landscape of the park a natural park look. The central part<\/a> of the Riegry Gardens is notable for children's playgrounds with attractions<\/a> and the Dairy Tower, of classical architecture.<\/p>\n

There is a cafe inside the tower, where it is pleasant to relax<\/a> with a cup of coffee, admiring the beautiful view of the center of the Czech capital. The territory of the park is crossed by many paths equipped with benches for rest, and the path leading to the embankment is bordered by flowers. The park is open to visitors all year round. In winter, slides and skating rinks are equipped here.<\/p>\n

It is convenient to get to the Riegrovy Sady by metro to the Ji\u0159\u00edho Pod\u011bbrad station, tram number 11 (Italsk\u00e1 stop) and bus number 135 (Na Smetance stop).<\/p>\n

Pruhonice park<\/h2>\n

Pruhonice Park is a UNESCO protected site located on 250 hectares in the suburbs of Prague in the valley of the Boti\u0107 River. The dark green of coniferous trees here contrasts with light deciduous plantings. The territory is decorated with numerous waterfalls and artificial lakes with blooming water lilies and swimming fish. Huge collections of rhododendrons, irises, roses, azaleas and other flowers create a holiday atmosphere in the park.<\/p>\n

The paths of the park are laid out taking into account the peculiarities of the landscape, so that during the walk, the visitor discovers new interesting places<\/a>. Europe<\/a>‘s largest rock garden is impressive; cozy lawns beckon for a family picnic. In front of the luxurious Pruhonice Castle of the 16th century, a pond has overflowed, near which the townspeople like to relax. Usually one day is not enough to see all the beautiful corners of the park, so you need to go there early.<\/p>\n

Buses run from Opatov metro station to Pruhonice every 15 minutes. There is a fee to visit the park. An adult ticket costs 80 K\u010d, a child ticket is 50 K\u010d, and a family ticket is 210 K\u010d.<\/p>\n

Hostivar Park<\/h2>\n

The large green park Hostivar with a wonderful forest<\/a> lake and the Boti\u0107 River, spread out in the southeast of Prague, is a popular vacation<\/a> spot for citizens and tourists<\/a>. This is the only rope park in Prague equipped with tree-lined ropeways with 23 obstacles 5 meters above the ground and 3 funiculars. The lighter yellow track is for children up to 110 cm tall and unprepared adults. The red track is equipped with difficult obstacles and is suitable for train<\/a>ed people.<\/p>\n

For a relaxing outdoor recreation, benches and playgrounds are perfectly inscribed in the landscape. It is a pleasure to watch the animals living in a small zoo and the swan family swimming in the lake.<\/p>\n

Hostivar is open from mid-April to the end of October from 11.00 to 17.00. The ticket costs for adults – 200 K\u010d, for children under 15 years old – 150 K\u010d. The ticket price includes a safety kit and initial training. You can get to the park by metro to the stations: Depo Hostivar and Skalka or by tram.<\/p>\n

Kunratice-Michel Forest<\/h2>\n

In the city of Prague there is an amazing natural recreation area – the Kunratice-Michel Forest, covering an area of \u200b\u200bmore than 300 hectares. In addition to the oaks, firs, larches, lindens and birches familiar to the Czech Republic<\/a>, here you will see two meta-saquois, which have disappeared in Europe<\/a>, growing near the forester's house. The forest is rich in lakes, small rivers, ponds and streams.<\/p>\n

They go to the spring near the chapel of St. Wenceslas to draw holy water, according to a legend that delivers from enemies. Here you can meet forest inhabitants: hares, badgers, deer, squirrels and pheasants, see wild and domestic animals in a mini-zoo, admire the mouflon family – the “highlight” of the forest. In the depths of the forest, the ruins of the castle of the King of the Czech Republic<\/a> Vaclav IV have been preserved, the castle bridge has been reconstructed.<\/p>\n

For outdoor activities, hiking trails<\/a> are laid, roller skating paths are paved, and playgrounds are equipped. You can taste dishes of national cuisine in the tavern, preserved from the Kunratice fortress. You can visit the Kunratice-Michel Forest at any time of the year. It is convenient to get to it by metro to the Roztyly station or by buses No. 135, 203.<\/p>\n

Waldstein Garden<\/h2>\n

The construction in 1623 of the amazing beauty and color scheme of the Wallenstein Garden and the palace complex Prague owes to the commander Albrecht from the Waldstein family. Walking in the garden, it is a pleasure to admire the walking peacocks, the architecture of the palace, the pool with goldfish and the green island<\/a> in the center with the towering figure of Hercules.<\/p>\n

The western side of the garden is notable for the alley of bronze sculptures – the heroes of ancient Greek myths. Among the architectural “pearls” scattered around the park, the Venus Fountain is delightful, flaunting near the loggia of Giovanni Pieroni, with an amazing colonnade, stucco and frescoes. It is worth paying attention to the huge grotto of the 17th century with extended stalactites and a small chapel, looking into the sky to the height of a three-story building.<\/p>\n

The Wallenstein Garden is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00 from April to October. From the metro station “Malostranska” along Letenska Street, it is not difficult to reach it on foot or go to Wallenstein Square up the Tomaszewska Street. Trams No. 2, 22, 23 go to the garden to the Malostranska stop.<\/p>\n

Divoka Sarka Natural Park<\/h2>\n

Divoka Sarka Nature Reserve, located on the outskirts of Prague, at an altitude of 255-360 meters, is the largest park with impressive natural beauty. Its name, translated as Wild Sharka, is inspired by legends<\/a> about the Czech Amazons, thanks to the maiden Sharka, who defeated the male warriors. This is confirmed by the rock “Divchi Skok” above the Sharetskaya Valley. The landscapes of the reserve combine deciduous forests with coniferous forests, interspersed with green meadows and clearings, lakes, streams and springs.<\/p>\n

Asphalt paths with benches and pavilions are laid among the wild nature, paid pools<\/a> for children and adults are equipped, filled from the Sharetsky stream. There are several rocks in the reserve that have become a training ground for rock climbers and slackline enthusiasts. Underground tunnels and catacombs made by the Germans during the Second World War became the historical landmark of Divoki Sharki.<\/p>\n

To enjoy the nature of Divok\u00e1 \u0160\u00e1rka, take tram no. 20 or no. 25, bus no. 225 or no. 179, getting off at the stop “Divok\u00e1 \u0160\u00e1rka”. Right behind the McDonald\u00b4s cafe there will be an entrance to the park.<\/p>\n

Vitkov Park<\/h2>\n

Vitkov Park – one of the most elevated in Prague, is located on a 270-meter hill. Visitors to Vitkov will be able to combine a pleasant stay in a place densely covered with trees and ornamental bushes, while learning many facts about the heroic history<\/a> of the state. The hill is famous for<\/a> the victory of the Hussites in the battle with the German crusa<\/a>ders in June 1420, which is reminiscent of the grandiose bronze equestrian monument to the leader of the Hussites, Jan Zizka.<\/p>\n

At the pedestal of the monument is the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, nearby is the National Memorial complex. Above the forest park zone, you can see flying peregrine falcons, and on the green lawns, resting local residents. For hiking, cycling and rollerblading, there are special paths. A pedestrian tunnel 303 meters long was dug under the hill, connecting the districts of Zizkov and Karlin.<\/p>\n

Vitkov Park can be reached by metro, getting off at the Florenc station or by trams No. 1, 9, 11, getting off at the Ohrada stop.<\/p>\n

Visegrad Gardens<\/h2>\n

Prague residents consider the Visegrad Gardens to be a romantic corner of the city, permeated with mysticism. They are located on a high hill, starting behind the old gates left over from the medieval fortress walls. Among the trees, shady alleys, flower beds and green lawns, many historical monuments appear before your eyes.<\/p>\n

Walking through the park, you will see the Devil's Pillars, recognized as the remains of a sundial from pagan times, go to the Visegrad cemetery, where the Slavin pantheon is located, with the graves of famous figures of the country. On the site of the former palace of monarchs, you will see a lawn with sculptural groups of real and mythical heroes of the Czech Republic. Under the crowns of centuries-old trees, cozy cafes and several playgrounds are located. It is worth going to the observation deck to enjoy the view of the city from above.<\/p>\n

To Visegrad Gardens, you need to take tram No. 2, 3, 5, 4, 7, 12, 17, 20, 21, 92, 99 to the V\u00fdto\u0148 stop.<\/p>\n

Park Parukarzhka<\/h2>\n

Park Parukarzka is located on a high hill in the Prague district of Zizkov. Its funny name comes from the profession of the last owner of this piece of land, who was a wig maker, which means “parukarzh” in Czech. Previously, the place on the hill was called the Holy Cross because of the large cross placed on top by the wife of a Prague baker.<\/p>\n

In the middle of the last century, bomb shelters were built inside the hill, some of which today serve as an entertainment club for extreme and informal people. There are no fanciful small architectural forms, rose gardens and ornamental bushes on Parukarzhka. A spacious green lawn surrounded by trees is an island of natural nature, where residents of the area like to have picnics, children have fun on inflatable attractions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Parukarzka is a wonderful panoramic platform, a free park, where you can come at any time of the day and year from the Namesti metro station on trams No. 5,26 or from the Hlavni Nadrazi metro station on tram No. 9 and buses No. 136,175 to the Ol\u0161ansk\u00e9 n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed stop.<\/p>\n

Botanical Garden<\/h2>\n

The botanical garden, spread over 50 hectares in the Prague district of Troy, amazes with the diversity of the plant world, represented by the flora of all parts of the world. Take a walk in the Japanese garden – a colorful corner of nature with an artificial mountain stream surrounded by Japanese maples, rhododendrons and bamboo. He will introduce you to Japanese symbols and the art of bonsai.<\/p>\n

A visit to the historic vineyard of Saint Clare will delight connoisseurs of grape wine offered by the vinotheque. Near the vineyard you will see a unique<\/a> artifact – a sand slab with an imprint of a dinosaur footprint, which is 210 million years old. The pearl of the garden is called the Fata Morgana greenhouse, replete with tropical and subtropical vegetation. Most striking in it are the grandiose aquariums in the form of two reservoirs connected by a glass tunnel.<\/p>\n

The right part will open the underwater world of the tropics of Eurasia and Africa, in the left aquarium you will see vegetation and exotic inhabitants of the deep sea<\/a> of \u200b\u200bSouth America. The Botanical Garden is open for visits: March, October from 9.00 to 17.00, April until 18.00, May-September until 20.00, November-February until 16.00.<\/p>\n

The greenhouse is open: April-September from 9.00 to 18.00, the rest of the months, like the botanical garden. Please note that Monday is a day off in the greenhouse. Ticket price for the Botanical Garden – 85 K\u010d, combined with the Fata Morgana greenhouse – 150K\u010d. The garden can be reached from the metro station N\u00e1dra\u017e\u00ed Hole\u0161ovice (red line C) bus number 112 – stop Botanicka Zahrada.<\/p>\n

Gardens on the Walls<\/h2>\n

The Garden on the Walls was created in the 18th century on the site of the protective ramparts that surrounded the slopes of the Hradcany Hill of the Prague Castle. Now along the length of the defensive wall there are viewing platforms with belvederes with marble columns. On the basis of the old fortress you will see a semicircular terrace with an obelisk similar to the top of the tower of the church of St. George. At the entrance to the park, a luxurious old fountain and a winter garden with a Bull Staircase in the center attract attention.<\/p>\n

Walking along the paths of the gardens on the Walls, you are amazed at the beauty and the number of architectural sights<\/a> in different styles. Interesting statues of angels with torches and a fountain with a statue of Samson tearing the lion's mouth. The park landscape delights with the originality of the flower beds and the well-groomed lawns that set off natural rarities – corners with catalpas, Japanese scarlet, weeping beech, Chinese meta-sequoia, tulip-flowered red-day.<\/p>\n

The garden is located on the Walls near the Malostransk\u00e1 metro station, you can also get there<\/a> by trams No. 2, 12, 15, 18, 20, 22, 23, 41, getting off at the Malostransk\u00e1 stop.<\/p>\n

Havlickov gardens<\/h2>\n

The second largest park in the Czech capital, the Havlickovy Sady, is located in the Vinohrady district. This is the only park with vineyards growing in terraces on a hillside. The Havlichkovy Gardens were laid out in the form of an English park. It is home to 25 species of birds and more than 20 species of trees. At the top of the hill rises a neo-Renaissance building – Villa Nizhnyaya Landhauska.<\/p>\n

Walking through the Havlickov gardens, look into the grotto of a rocky cave with multi-level labyrinths equipped with viewing platforms. After visiting the distillery, you can taste the wine, and then admire the view of the city from the carved wooden terrace. Of interest is the restored villa of the 19th century with arches and frescoes on the pediment, which belonged to the industrialist<\/a> Grebe.<\/p>\n

The Havlickov Gardens are open all year round with free entry. You can get to them from the metro station N\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed M\u00edru by trams No. 4, 22; 57, 59 to the stop: Ruska.<\/p>\n

Vrtbovsk garden<\/h2>\n

The Vrtbovsk Garden, located on the slope of Pet\u0159\u00edn, is recognized as one of the most beautiful parks<\/a> in the Baroque style. Created at the beginning of the 18th century, it is included in the UNESCO list<\/a> as a monument of landscape architecture. The garden is arranged on three terraces connected by stairs and ramps. At the foot of the first terrace, among the sumptuous French flower beds that surround a round pool with a statuette in the center, you can see the Salla Terrena relaxation pavilion, notable for its ancient wooden panels with birds, frescoes on the dome depicting Venus and Adonis, and sculptures of Bacchus and Ceres.<\/p>\n

The lower terrace pleases the eye with cone-shaped and spherical shrubs, a romantic boxwood alley. Climbing up to the middle terrace along a wide staircase, decorated with statues of gods and flowerpots, you will admire the pool with a fountain. Climb up the staircase, branching into two wings, to the upper platform to embrace the entire Prague Castle with your eyes.<\/p>\n

The garden is open to visitors daily from April to October from 10.00 to 18.00. Entrance ticket – 30K\u010d. Take the metro along the green line to Malostranska station, then walk down Karmelitska Street.<\/p>\n

franciscan garden<\/h2>\n

The Franciscan Garden is located in the center of Prague<\/a>. This is a small cozy garden founded in the middle of the 14th century by a Carmelite monastery. It appears as a square lawn bordered by a hedge of yew, fruit trees and rose bushes. Here it is pleasant to relax on the benches set under the arches entwined with roses.<\/p>\n

The center of the garden stands out with a baroque gazebo, a little further attention is drawn by a sculptural composition of three dancing fairies and a spring with sculptures of forest nymphs. In the summer heat, a fountain with a statue of a boy with a shell in his hands gives life-giving freshness. When entering from Wenceslas Square<\/a>, pay attention to the reliefs of the metal gate with the life of St. Francis on the Aero passage.<\/p>\n

The garden is open daily: from April 15 to September 14 from 7.00 to 22.00; September 15 – October 14 until 20.00; from October 15 to April 14 – from 8.00 to 19.00. After exiting at the M\u016fstek metro station, you can also enter it from Jungman Square and Vodickova Street. You need to get by trams No. 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 24, 41 to the V\u00e1clavsk\u00e9 n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed stop.<\/p>\n

Ledeburg garden<\/h2>\n

Ledeburg Garden is one of the most beautiful southern terraced gardens at Prague Castle. It was created behind the Ledeburg Palace in the 17th century in the Baroque style, captivating landscapes with features of Viennese, Italian and French gardens. The park landscape consists of two parts: flat – lower and upper, which differs in inclination. Five garden terraces are connected by a steep staircase.<\/p>\n

At the end of the stairs, visitors come to a white and pink pavilion – a gloriette, from where a wonderful view of the terrace walls twined with vines and climbing roses, clipped evergreen fences and plants in large flowerpots opens up. An open garden hall is remarkable in the lower parterre part. A green area with a fountain – a spring and a fountain with the figure of Hercules, plunging the many-headed Hydra, pleases the eye.<\/p>\n

You can enjoy the beauty of Ledburg from 10.00 to 18.00 by purchasing a ticket that costs a little over 100 K\u010d. You can get here by metro line A to the Malostransk\u00e1 station or by trams No. 2, 12, 15, 20, 22, 23.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcrstenberg Gardens<\/h2>\n

The Great F\u00fcrstenberg Garden is a vivid example of the Baroque style, successfully combining natural corners with the imagination of landscape designers. It is located on 10 terraces connected by graceful stairs. The landscapes of each terrace are decorated with clipped bushes and trees in the form of various figures, rose gardens, small pools<\/a> with antique-style statues.<\/p>\n

Each terrace is flanked by 18th century balustrades and fitted with wrought iron benches to relax on before climbing to the next level of the garden. It is best to start the tour<\/a> from the bottom of the gardens, opening up more and more breathtaking views of the Prague landscape as you go up.<\/p>\n

Entrance to the garden – with a ticket worth 50 K\u010d. It is open from 10.00 daily, closing in April and October at 18.00, in May and September – at 19.00, in August – at 20.00, in June-July<\/a> – at 21.00. From November to March, the gardens are closed to visitors. You can get to them by the Malostransk\u00e1 metro and trams No. 2, 12, 15, 18, 20, 22, 23, 41 to the Malostransk\u00e1 stop.<\/p>\n

Cherninsky garden<\/h2>\n

Cherninsky Garden got its name from the names of the owners of the palace, which it has been surrounding since the end of the 17th century. Like many gardens in Prague<\/a>, it is visually divided into 2 parts. The old part of the garden, adjacent to the palace, resembles an equilateral triangle in shape, surrounded by a high fence around the perimeter. This section of the garden appears as four terraces.<\/p>\n

On the lower terrace, the sculpture of Hercules fighting a snake and the arched garden pavilion, built in the Italian “salla terrena” style, attract attention. Climbing the ancient staircase to the upper level, enjoy the view and freshness of the two fountains, bordered by lush vegetation. Walking through the new garden behind the palace, you will enjoy the beauty of the landscape with natural compositions of various types<\/a> of trees.<\/p>\n

The garden is open for free visits from May to October from 10.00 to 17.00. You can get to it by trams No. 22 and 23, getting off at the Poho\u0159elec stop.<\/p>\n

Now to the Bastion<\/h2>\n

The garden on the Bastion is located on the site of a medieval citadel that protected the city from the west. Today, it appears in a sophisticated Italian style interspersed with Japanese motifs. The garden begins with a well-shaped plot with cypress and yew trees, between which it is a pleasure to walk along the paved gravel paths. There is a historical object here – fragments of an ancient fortress, decorated with a pergola with columns entwined with lianas.<\/p>\n

The garden in the northern part gives the impression of a natural green massif. The “highlight” of the garden on the Bastion is called the rounded “shoulder staircase”, which connected it with the Fourth Courtyard of the Prague Castle. Standing on the steps in the center and speaking a few words, you will experience the unique acoustic properties of the stairs, which greatly change the voice.<\/p>\n

The most convenient way to get to the garden is from the Powder Bridge, and take the metro to Malostransk\u00e1 station or tram number 22, getting off at the Pra\u017esk\u00fd hrad stop.<\/p>\n

Strahov garden<\/h2>\n

The large Strahov garden, laid out by monks in the Middle Ages, stretches along the slope near the Strahov Monastery. In it, and now, next to hornbeams and oaks, fruit trees grow, bestowing fruits<\/a> on visitors. On the border of the garden with a natural forest, you will see a confessional, and going deeper into the forest, you will find a monastic skete – a natural sandstone cave. On the dam below the monastery grows a two-hundred-year-old ash tree, one and a half meters in girth with a crown spread over 37 meters.<\/p>\n

The observation deck in the garden is located at the highest point, under four terraces of vineyards. It is easy to get to it by following the signs or climbing the wooden stairs from the panoramic road surrounding the hill. A white-stone statue of the Mother of God, leaning over a defeated dragon, rises on a two-meter pedestal on the site.<\/p>\n

You can enjoy a walk through the garden and the view from the observation deck free of charge at any time by taking tram No. 22 or No. 23 to the Poho\u0159elec stop.<\/p>\n

Seminar Gardens<\/h2>\n

The seminary gardens are located in the old district of Malaya Strana to the left of the funicular. On 13 hectares of the garden, more than 2 thousa<\/a>nd fruit trees grow: plums, apple trees, pears, cherry plums, almonds and 150 dwarf trees. The lower part of the garden near the funicular is notable for a bronze monument to the famous Czech poet Jan Neruda and a small fountain with figures of two boys playing.<\/p>\n

There are many green lawns upstairs where citizens and tourists<\/a> like to have picnics. Along well-maintained paths, it will be a pleasure to slowly climb to a picturesque pond and collect crystal clear water from the gushing Pet\u0159\u00ednka spring. Near the top of the hill there is a colorful restaurant of Czech cuisine, from the veranda of which a magnificent view of Prague opens.<\/p>\n
