It seems that every centimeter of air is saturated with miracles. Of course, a decorated city, pre-holiday bustle, <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/what-to-bring-from-azerbaijan-as-a-gift-20-best-souvenirs\/\" title=\"and gifts\">and gifts<\/a> help you believe in something incredible. But still, we create the atmosphere ourselves. And what, no matter how Christmas markets, organically complements the spirit of the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>Deciding to bring a little more magic into life, I visited three New Year\u2019s markets in different countries. The choice fell on cities whose fairs are rightfully recognized as one of the best in Europe.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Hungary, <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/margaret-island-in-budapest-history-what-to-see-tips-and-a-map-2021\/\" title=\"Budapest\">Budapest<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I started my trip from the capital of Hungary &#8211; Buda <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/pest-top-15-attractions-in-eastern-budapest\/\" title=\"Pest\">Pest<\/a>. To be honest, I didn\u2019t expect that I would fall in love with this city from the first second. Visiting it during the holiday season was definitely the best decision. The city hosts several Christmas markets. The most popular of them are located in the city center, just a ten-minute walk from each other.<\/p>\n<h3>V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty Square<\/h3>\n<p>The fair at V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty Square particularly impressed me. But first I want to tell you a little about the square itself. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/sak-yant-magical-shamanic-tattoo-history-meaning-of-tattoo-masters\/\" title=\"history\">history<\/a> does not go back much: only more than 200 years. But during this period, it managed to become one of the most famous squares in the world and even changed its name as many as nine times! There are beautiful buildings <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/denmark-15-unique-experiences-for-an-unforgettable-trip\/\" title=\"around\">around<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/rome-10-reasons-to-visit-the-eternal-city\/\" title=\"perimeter\">perimeter<\/a> of the square, a monument to the poet Michal V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty and a copy of an ancient fountain built in 1483.<\/p>\n<p>But during Christmas, the square turns into the epicenter of the holiday. There are wooden houses where you can buy products from local artisans. Christmas tree <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/what-to-bring-from-montenegro-as-a-gift-20-best-souvenirs\/\" title=\"decorations\">decorations<\/a>, dishes, accessories, nice little things for the home &#8211; with all this you can please yourself and your loved ones. Of course, the aromas of food will surround you at every step. Well, how can we resist here? Therefore, I advise you not to overeat before visiting the fair, because you still won\u2019t be able to resist.<\/p>\n<p>This year the fair on V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty Square will take place from November 17 to December 31. And believe me, there will be a lot of amazing things this year. After all, the fair has been updated.<\/p>\n<h3>Ferenc Deak Square<\/h3>\n<p>Not far from V\u00f6r\u00f6smarty Square, another fair will be held at Ferenc De\u00e1k Square. The atmosphere here is very similar to other venues, but what is surprising is the countless number of illuminations. The 500-meter-long street is illuminated by thousands of lights.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3>St. Stephen's Square<\/h3>\n<p>The fair on St. Stephen's Square, where the basilica of the same name is located, surprises with its light show. At the holiday market you can try Hungarian delicacies or traditional Christmas ones.<\/p>\n<p>For <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/pantheon-in-rome-history-photo-description-opening-hours-prices-2021-interesting-facts-map\/\" title=\"example\">example<\/a>, l\u00e1ngos is a flatbread made from yeast dough, fried in oil. It is also worth paying attention to ceramic masterpieces by local craftsmen or buying a valuable designer gift. If it gets cold, of course, you can warm up with warm <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/winter-georgia-10-reasons-to-travel\/\" title=\"mulled wine\">mulled wine<\/a> made from red or white wine. And in the St. Stephen's Basilica itself, organ music concerts are held in the evenings, where you can enjoy the works of great composers. But you should take care of tickets in advance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u00a0Austria Vienna<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Following the charming <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/buda-a-journey-along-the-right-bank-of-budapest\/\" title=\"Buda\">Buda<\/a> Pest, I went to Vienna to continue my fair <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/recomendet-tiqets_com-product-tours\">tour<\/a>. The capital of Austria is beautiful in any season. On the one hand, pompous, and on the other hand, sophisticated <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/colosseum-in-rome-history-description-photos-prices-2021-opening-hours-map\/\" title=\"architecture\">architecture<\/a>, an atmosphere of wealth and luxury, famous local culinary masterpieces that are famous and loved far beyond the country\u2019s borders. But in its festive decorations, Vienna is even more beautiful than usual. Of course, all this could not happen without fairs. I managed to visit three fairs, and I\u2019ll tell you about them.<\/p>\n<h3>Stephansplatz Square<\/h3>\n<p>Usually there is a small fair on the square. But I can definitely call it one of the most comfortable. It is located next to St. Stephen's Cathedral or Stefansdom. This is a real calling card of the city, and perhaps the whole country. It is therefore not surprising that a fair near such a place has captured the hearts of many visitors and residents of Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>Here, in addition to walking and contemplating <a href=\"https:\/\/tourism.com.de\/en\/what-to-see-in-varna-in-1-day-route-photo-description-map\/\" title=\"the sights\">the sights<\/a>, you should definitely try punch with or without alcohol. By the way, speaking of intoxicating drinks. During my trip, mulled wine or other &#8220;Christmas&#8221; drinks were sold in mugs with the symbol of the year. A deposit was paid for each such dish.
