In Japan, in Niigata Prefecture, a restaurant train appeared.
The scenic landscapes of Niigata Prefecture have long attracted the attention of tourists and travel agents. Therefore, Japanese travel agencies offered the local rail carrier to improve the design of one of their trains, making a restaurant out of it. The purpose of this experiment is to attract tourists to the Niigata region.
As a result, one of the trains was allocated: it was redesigned, maximizing the glass-window area for visibility. This allowed passengers to more fully observe the beauty of the scenery along the entire route.
The train consists of 2 carriages and is designed to accommodate 45 passengers. One of the cars is equipped as a restaurant where you can enjoy French cuisine and sip traditional Japanese strong sake.
