🏄♂️ Prea: the hidden gem of the Brazilian coast
A beach holiday in Brazil is suitable for those who love noisy parties until the morning, and for those who prefer cozy relaxation on the ocean during sunset. I, in turn, prefer to splash in the gentle waves of the ocean, look at hundreds of shells scattered on the beach, and listen to the rustle of palm branches.
I also like to walk along the embankment and watch how Brazilians rush home after work in the rays of the setting sun. For them, a day spent near the elements is a normal routine. That is why we chose the beautiful resort village of Prea (Port. Preá) for our next vacation.
How to get there
Preha is located near the city of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará in northeastern Brazil. The journey to this village should begin from the state capital. The distance between Fortaleza and the village is 245 kilometers. The most comfortable way to overcome it is by car, which you can rent right in the city. But you can also order a transfer. Those who prefer public transport will have to travel by Fretcar bus from Pinto Martins Airport.
When to go
This region of the country is not very far from the equator, so the temperature there does not drop below 28 degrees all year round . But the Brazilian summer is considered the holiday season. So by the end of February, many restaurants close until the next season.

Where to stay
Since Preah is a resort village, the choice of accommodation options will pleasantly please you. Small hotels, so-called pauses, are very popular here. Booking is replete with a variety of such cozy hotels. You can choose one of them to your liking.
We stopped at an eco break. I really liked the concept of the place: a roof made of palm branches, a lot of wooden furniture, an emphasis on a marine theme. Even in the bathroom there were twigs instead of windows. Therefore, when choosing a location, you can completely surrender to your desires.
What to see
Although the resort Preah occupies a relatively small area, here you can fully experience all the delights of relaxing by the ocean.
The coast of the village is one of the largest in the state, so it’s definitely worth spending time on it. You can swim in the ocean, play sports, or just take a walk, especially during sunset. Such a walk will definitely leave an unforgettable impression.
The Preah region is an ideal choice for water sports enthusiasts. Here you can choose surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing. There is a specialized surfing school in Preah that will teach you the necessary skills. Guests of the village love their hobbies so much that they even take their four-legged friends on water adventures.
A buggy ride will help you fully explore the beaches of the village and enjoy the splendor of the scenery. It will also be an exciting adventure for a large company or family.
A boat ride with sails is the hallmark of the region. Besides the fact that you will have an interesting time and see the beauty of the place from the water, you will also be able to ride like a breeze.
Places worth visiting near the village of Preah.
La Goa do Paraiso is located 15 kilometers from Preah and is one of the main attractions of the region. This place will surprise you with its perfectly crystal water, bright green palm trees and an atmosphere of complete relaxation. Also in the lagoon you can relax in hammocks, which are located right in the ocean near the shore.
Pedra Furada is an arched rock on the ocean shore and is one of the most romantic places in the region. Many people visit the place because they say that the energy there is incredible. It fills from head to toe and recharges, especially at sunset.
But it should be borne in mind that there are many who want to reinforce their source of energy. So you will have to wait in line to take photos and feel the atmosphere of the place. There is also no infrastructure near the rock.
For the most beautiful performance in the evenings, there is its own stage. The Port do Sol dune is the perfect place to watch the sunset. The place is already about 500 years old. And the dune moves closer to the ocean every year, so don’t miss your chance to enjoy the performance of nature.
About food
I really liked the cuisine in Preah's restaurants. Here you can find noisy bars right on the ocean shore, where they surprise you with the variety and serving of cocktails, and more secluded places for true connoisseurs. You can try the local cuisine of the region or visit a place that serves Peruvian cuisine.
I can confidently recommend Restaurante da Lu. Huge portions, fresh grilled seafood, baked fruits… Mmm, I just want to repeat it. And here I tried ice cream for the first time, which all Brazilians adore – ice cream with acai berries.
Acai grows in the Amazon in Brazil. They can also be found in Colombia or Venezuela. They nourish and rejuvenate the skin, and in general, have a number of beneficial properties. Some people taste like raspberries, others like currants, and others like walnuts. It's really worth trying them. And if you’ve already tried it, then tell us in the comments what acai berries remind you of.
Impression
Preah combines local flavor, delicious cuisine, favorable weather, ocean, wide beaches, activities and attractions for every taste. It’s definitely worth visiting this village at least once in your life, and I’ll definitely return there more than once.
