Skyscrapers, the lights of Times Square and the Statue of Liberty are the most recognizable symbols of New York, but the list of places that are definitely worth visiting is much longer. The editors of Travelcode have put together a great guide about this amazing city. We have compiled a short list of the most interesting locations in Manhattan.
Cathedral of John the God of Oslo
It began to be built in the 19th century, but has not yet been completed. The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is the fourth largest church in the world and the largest Anglican church. Inside you can find amazing prices on the columns. One of them depicts giant waves washing away the World Trade Center towers.
Central Park
An island of nature in the middle of an overhanging concrete jungle. On 350 hectares there are seven reservoirs, two ice skating rinks, its own zoo and even a castle. This location has appeared in more than 250 films and TV series.

Empire State Building
It was considered the tallest building on the planet for the longest time—as much as 40 years. And now it is the third tallest skyscraper in the States. And the observation deck at the top of the building is the most popular in the city.
Flatiron Building
This unusual building is shaped like an iron. It is also the first skyscraper in the city.
9/11 Memorial
This is the saddest place in New York. The memorial consists of two black marble pools on the site of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The water flowing into the pools throughout the perimeter symbolizes tears for the innocent victims, and three thousand names of the dead are written along the edges.
