The park appeared thanks to Mr. Goh Keng Swee, the Minister of Finance of Singapore. In the late 60s, the doctor visited the zoo in Rio de Janeiro, and was amazed by the huge enclosures where the birds were. They lived in as close to natural conditions as possible.

He applied for funds for the construction of the park, the state allocated them (more than 3 million Singapore dollars) and construction began. The grand opening of the Jurong Bird Park took place in 1971. But until recently, it has been modernized and completed. Since then, the park has been visited by millions of people – local residents and guests of the capital. Amazing singing and colorful view of birds, exotic plants does not leave anyone indifferent.
