When is the best time to go

Although the fairy-tale world is open all year round, the best time to visit it is the New Year holidays. It is on these winter days that the whole world embraces the Christmas mood, and the children go on vacation. Therefore, such a trip can be a great solution for a variety of leisure activities during winter evenings. If you do not like long queues for attractions, try to choose the best time for a trip, taking into account the least influx of visitors, we advise you to plan your visit to the Parisian world of fairy tales in late May or early September. During these months, the main visitors of the amusement park – children – “gnaw” the granite of science on the school benches and nothing will stop you from enjoying the rides to the fullest.

How to get there

Since the amusement park is located outside the city at a distance of 40-45 km, the best and most affordable option to get there today is the RER train or the double-decker TGV express. In the first case, tourists are advised to purchase a pass for the red line of the underground metro and proceed to the Marne-la-Vallee station.

To get on the route you need, you need to land at the Charles de Gaulle Etoile station (which is opposite the Arc de Triomphe) or transfer to the red line at the Chatelet Les Halles station. Trains also depart from Auber stations (near the Grand Opera House), Chatelet-Les Halles, Gare de Lyon (Gare de Lyon), as well as from the station on the National Square.

The frequency of running is on average 8-10 minutes. By the way, from Charles de Gaulle airport you will have to transfer at the last mentioned metro station. Such a route, together with a transfer, will take approximately 80-90 minutes, taking into account the walking section. The fare on the RER train is 15 euros for adults and 9 euros for children.

If you want to reduce your travel time, we recommend using the faster alternative express TGV, the ticket for which is 1-2 euros more expensive. You can lay your own version of the route, being in the center of Paris, on your own, having learned the schedule and routes of the buses and metro. An even more convenient way is to use the services of our partner – Kiwitaxi. A car transfer for your company will cost 4,800 RUB.

Working hours

The park is open all year round without holidays. Although you can enter the territory from 9 am, all attractions start working an hour later. But the closing time varies depending on the season. So, in summer the attractions are available until late at night and the park is preparing for closing closer to midnight. And on autumn and winter days, it stops its work from 20.30 to 22 o'clock at night. On holidays and weekends, the amusement park is open a couple of hours longer than usual, and on winter weekdays it closes even earlier – at 19 or 20 pm.

So that visitors can celebrate the New Year in the circle of cartoon characters, enjoy the fireworks and enchanting shows, from December 21 to 30, the park is open until 10 pm, and on New Year's Eve – until 01.00 am! A more favorable work schedule is also presented during the Christmas holidays.

Note! The park includes two thematic zones at once – Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Park, the schedules of which are somewhat different from each other. This should be taken into account when purchasing a pass. A combined ticket gives its holders advantages – they can move from one zone to another an unlimited number of times.

Ticket prices and how to buy

Although you can find a lot of “helpful” tips on the Internet for buying tickets to a Paris amusement park, we will only talk about the most reliable and proven methods of buying. So, the simplest and most popular today is to buy a pass through the official website of Disneyland. Today, the site presents three types of tickets, which differ not only in their cost, but also have time limits for visiting the amusement park.

The presented types of electronic passes – MINI, MAGIC and SUPER MAGIC – although they provide equal access to attractions for their owners, they still have date restrictions. The MINI type ticket can bring the most inconvenience to its owners, which will not allow them to enjoy the world of attractions on weekends and holidays, as well as during New Year and Christmas celebrations. It will not be possible to go to the park during the summer holidays.

But the most expensive type – FASTPASS has no restrictions. The cost of the pass is also affected by whether you want to visit only one of the two parks, or if you want to get access to all the attractions. So, a visit to one park will cost adults from 30 to 150 euros, depending on the type of ticket.

Advice. If you are here for the first time, we advise you to buy a complex ticket that will allow you to visit all corners of the park and form a complete impression of the unique fairy-tale zone.

The advantage of buying tickets through the official website is that you do not have to stand in long lines waiting for your turn. It is enough just to print the ticket on the printer, having previously paid its full cost. If earlier such tickets had to be exchanged for paper tickets at the entrance, now this is not necessary. If the desire to visit the amusement park arose spontaneously, and you did not have time to order a ticket through the site, you can go the standard way by buying it at the box office at the entrance, or find it in the Disneyland store located on the Champs Elysees.

Adventureland

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is very popular in Adventureland, inviting teenagers over 140 cm tall and adults among the scenery of the film Indiana Jones to embark on the journey of Jack Sparrow in search of a hidden treasure. The route runs through an intricate labyrinth through the abyss along a hanging bridge and down a winding hill.

Adventure Island is an exciting attraction that captivates you with the search for a sunken pirate ship. The path to the goal will pass through the rocks, past the stormy waterfalls and through the mysterious caves. The attraction has no age restrictions and will appeal to the whole family. Pirate Galleon is an attraction in which guests, after going through several adventures, will find themselves on a colorful pirate ship, and then go to the Pirate Beach, joining in an exciting game.

From the island of adventure, a dangerous smugglers' path will lead to Robinson's hut, hidden in the crown of a tall tree. The attraction “Passage of Aladdin” will take you to the fairy tales of 1001 nights. A walk through the eastern palace, filled with wonders, takes place without age restrictions, delighting children.

Fantasyland

The picturesque corner of the fairy-tale country delights the kids with meetings with the revived characters of fairy tales and the opportunity to take pictures with them. After visiting the “Sleeping Beauty Castle” with the lair of a fire-breathing dragon, you can head to the labyrinth “White Rabbit Hole”. Accompanied by the smile of the Cheshire Cat and the cartoon characters, you will pass through several doors to get a storm of emotions on a carousel of cups belonging to the Hatter from the tale of Alice.

Next, the fairy trail will lead to the funicular to fly Peter Pan from the apartment window into the London sky past Big Ben, meeting mermaids, Indians and pirates on the way. On the attraction “Flying Dumbo”, sitting on the back of elephants rotating at different speeds, a wonderful view of the entire park opens up. And what a pleasure it is to ride on the “Rudokop train” to visit Snow White and her industrious gnomes, meeting revived trees and cunning witches on the way!

Boarding the colorful circus Casey Train, children will ride through their favorite cartoons, see Arthur's sword, visit the Little Mermaid Grotto and visit other cartoon characters. Those who do not wish to use the train can make an exciting journey in a boat along a small river with dolls singing a cheerful song. And how many more surprises will Fantasyland bring!

Frontierland

The atmosphere of the Wild West will surround you in the border country. In its landscape there are many roller coasters imitating high mountains. Cars of gold miners rush along them, passing hills, caves and slopes. The coolest of these attractions is Big Thunder Mountain, with stylized trolleys rushing around the mine, through dangerous turns and tunnels, ending up underwater for a moment.

To take your breath away from the rides, sit on a wheeled motor ship moored at the pier and sail along the river, admiring the fantastic landscapes. If you want thrills – go to the house of Ghosts, built in the image of the “Adams family” and guarded by two lions. When the doors open for the butlers, go into the hall, where you will hear terrible sounds, and the owners who left the earth will wink from the mirror in the living room. Get even more adrenaline by going down the elevator to the basements of the house.

Even in the border country, shooting from a cowboy colt in the Horse Thieves Shooting Range, a show about Tarzan, a performance of cartoon characters in the Pocahontas Garden Theater and many other attractions are captivating.

Discoveryland

In the Land of Discovery, ideas about the future of the 19th-century science fiction writer Jules Verne were embodied. For children over 1.30 meters, the future will open the attraction “Auto Utopia” in the form of fantastic cars racing along the rails at breathtaking speed. For those who are fond of astronomy, welcome to the Indiana Jones slide, where, under a starry dome, you will fly in a rocket among stars and comets through the labyrinths of space routes, either rising up or falling into the abyss.

On the Orbitron, even a small child can control the rotation of the rockets, while the Space Mountain will bring a sea of emotions to thrill-seekers. You will have to feel the state of the astronaut in a catapult, taking off sharply into outer space, feeling weightlessness, and then, at a speed of 40 km per hour, make side loops of 360⁰ and enter a tailspin.

No less fascinating is Flight to the Stars, which imitates the plot of the Star Wars movie, performed by 65 passengers on a spaceship in intergalactic space. After space travel, you can take a tour of the compartments of Captain Nemo's Nautilus submarine, see the half-hour show “Legends of the Lion King” in Videopolis.

US main street

The main street of the USA is a copy of the California Disneyland Avenue. This is a colorful walking boulevard with many cafes and souvenir shops, covered on both sides with arcades, which are pedestrian covered alleys. They protect visitors from bad weather and serve as themed galleries. So, in the Liberty Gallery it is interesting to trace the history in photographs and see the details of the construction of the Statue of Liberty, and in the Discovery Gallery – models of inventions made more than 100 years ago.

On the main street of the USA there is a railway station where electric trains arrive from Paris. From here there are routes to the countries of Disneyland: Border, Discovery and Fantasy. Every day, colorful parades take place along the main street of the USA, delighting visitors. With a procession of Disney cartoon characters to the music on the main street of the USA, Disneyland begins at 10.00.

The main Disney Fairytale World parade on platforms illustrating popular cartoons with their characters starts at 5 p.m. in winter and at 7 p.m. in summer. At 21.00, fireworks, which we see on the screensavers of Disney films, are colored over the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Walt Disney Studios Park

In the land of illusions – “Walt Disney Studios” opens an exciting world of cinema and animation, divided into 4 zones. First, you get to the Front Lot, which recreates a real Hollywood Boulevard, where you can become a spectator of the filming. At Toon Studio, children will be able to visit the creative workshop and see how cartoons are created. Among the abundance of attractions, the Animamagia show delights, where special effects depict scenes from popular cartoons: The Lion King, The Jungle Book and others.

The attraction of 16 magic carpets flying around the magical lamp of Aladdin and the rally for kids delights. Turtle slides are captivating, serving as guides through the depths of the sea among coral reefs, predatory fish and whirlpools depicted by holograms. The most fearless visitors will be entertained by the Tower of Terror – a mysterious show with mind-blowing lighting and video effects. Take a tour of the Production Countryard film sets on the studio's sightseeing tram, learning the secrets of filming and TV shows.

At the Back Lot, where the stunt and special effects studios are located, you will experience the horrors of Armageddon with meteor showers falling on the orbital station, you will see man-made and natural disasters. On the BackLot site, stuntmen put on an exciting show on motorcycles and cars. End your walk through Walt Disney Studios Park with a thrilling ride down a rock ‘n' roll slide to the music of the Aerosmith band.

Disney Village Park

The town of Disney Village appears as a shopping and entertainment complex, equal in size to 20 football fields. It is surrounded by the Walt Disney Studios on one side and Disneyland Park on the other. Entrance to the realm of entertainment is free, but it is incredibly difficult to resist the temptation not to spend money here.

How to resist the show “The Legend of Buffalo Bill and Friends” with scenes from the life of Indians, cowboys with bulls and bison and serving Texas barbecue? Some will be captivated by flying in the basket of a Panora Magique balloon hovering a hundred meters from the ground, while others will keep their excitement in the huge Nex Game Arcade with the latest video games.

Disney Village has an abundance of original cafes and restaurants. Even an advanced gourmet will have a hard time choosing between restaurants: in the form of a mid-twentieth century bistro Annette's diner, Bavarian cuisine King Ludwig's Castle, Chicago-style of the last century The Steakhouse and Café Mickey, where visitors are entertained by Disney characters: Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Pluto. Disney Village is full of shops, galleries, boutiques where you can buy clothes, CDs and souvenirs as a keepsake.

How to skip the line

It is not difficult to guess that during the summer seasons, on weekends and holidays, as well as during the New Year holidays, crowds of adventure lovers, vivid impressions and attractions come to Disneyland. So everywhere you have to stand in long queues. This is especially true of popular entertainment and attractions. As we have already mentioned, in order to avoid the line at the ticket office at the entrance to Disneyland, you can purchase a ticket in advance through the official website, or by finding a company store in the center of Paris. But what about entertainment?

But even in such a seemingly hopeless situation, there is a little trick that we will be happy to share with you. So, in order to avoid waiting in line to experience popular attractions (you can wait from 40 minutes to an hour and a half!), We recommend using the FAST PASS system. To do this, you need to find a special machine, which is very similar to a gaming machine and, as a rule, is located near the entertainment itself.

Next, you need to attach the barcode of the pass printed on the printer to the special window (for those bought at the checkout or in the store – a magnetic tape). In a second, you will be given another ticket, with which you can enter the attraction through the FAST PASS entrance, bypassing the queue.

The only caveat is that you can use this right no earlier than 30 minutes from the moment you receive your ticket and at the strictly allotted time (indicated on the back). Of the “minuses” it is necessary to highlight the fact that not all types of entertainment provide such an opportunity. To ride on some of them, you still have to stand in line.

Which hotel to choose

When choosing a hotel for temporary accommodation, each tourist should proceed from personal preferences and the most cultural and entertainment program that he adheres to. So, if you are going to Paris specifically to visit Disneyland, you can stay at one of the hotels located in the park. In the same case, when your trip is not limited to exploring the amusement park, and you would like to take the time to visit other attractions of Paris – the Louvre, cathedrals, museums, the Eiffel Tower, etc. – we advise you to choose a hotel in the capital.

We think that the journey to the suburb where Disneyland is located will not cause discomfort, which will take no more than 1-1.5 hours and cost only a couple of tens of euros. This option will allow you to combine several cultural programs at once, satisfying the needs of both adults and young tourists. By the way, accommodation in the park is sometimes more expensive than spending a few nights in hotels in the central part of the capital. For example, staying for 3 days, two nights in the cheapest hotel.

Disney's Hotel Santa Fe (two stars) for an adult will cost a minimum of 259 euros. At the same time, for the same time spent in the four-star hotels Hotel New York and Disneyland Hotel, it will cost no less than 389-619 euros.

There are also two three-star hotels on the territory – Disney's New Port Bay Club, which recreates the atmosphere of England in the 20s of the last century, as well as Disney's Sequoia Lodge, which will appeal to all lovers of solitude who will be offered to spend time in the forest houses of the green park.

Just a few kilometers from Disneyland, visitors can find cheaper accommodation options.
