Hotel room classification and room types

143

Oddly enough, but today there is no unified world classification of hotel rooms. There is only a standard list of several types of categories that an experienced traveler has already become familiar with. Almost all of us have come across standard and luxury hotel rooms, but few have heard of the existence of such exotic categories as, for example, the Mediterranean Suite, Honeymoon Suite or Imperial Suite, appearance and services provided which are so similar to the standard Suite and Presidential Suite. It's all about the so-called “auditory flavor”, hearing which you begin to betray a completely classical place with magical qualities. And yet you see a more terry dressing gown or brighter flowers on the wallpaper.

Knowing this unpleasant little thing, the managers of our travel agency decided to compile a standard or classic list of hotel rooms, starting with the simplest and most inexpensive. For any questions that suddenly arise, you can contact the managers directly online, or by calling the specified phone numbers.

  • STD – Standard. Standard (DBL)

One of the most visited rooms in the hotel. It is completely ordinary, but it has all the necessary attributes for a comfortable stay. “Standard” is famous for its attractive price for quite acceptable living conditions. Usually most of the rooms in a hotel are of this level.

  • SUP – Superior. Improved

This type of room is practically a twin of the Standard, but complemented by either a colorful view from the window, or a fresh renovation and better interior decoration. Approximately 10-40% of all rooms are reserved for Superior, and, accordingly, it is 10-25% more expensive than the previous one.

  • DLX – Deluxe. Excellent

This number is strikingly different from the previous ones. A spacious room, or maybe a two-level room with a living room and a bedroom, luxurious interior decoration, picturesque view from the window, nice furniture and some other nice little things: slippers, bathrobes, towels, etc. The level and quantity of these distinctive features depends only on the hotel itself. Deluxe is an excellent choice for a comfortable stay, but its price will be 25-50% more expensive than Standard.

  • CONNECTED ROOMS – Connected rooms

Rooms are mainly of the Standard category, but there are also Superior or Deluxe rooms, connected by a door-passage. This is a great way out for large families, small groups of friends or parents with children. Each has its own closed space, and, at the same time, there is no need to go out into the corridor to move from room to room. The only downside is that such rooms are not found in all hotels.

  • J.SUITE – Junior Suite. Junior suite

The room is similar to the Deluxe category, but has more chic and spacious furnishings, often consisting of two rooms: a living room and a bedroom. The Junior Suite is more expensive than the Standard by about 30-60%.

  • M. SUITE – Mini  Suite. Junior Suite

This is a mini copy of the Junior Suite, it is just as attractive, but less spacious.

  • FAMILY. Family

Such rooms are a rather rare guest in the hotel fund of rooms. FAMILY looks like a two- or three-room suite, consisting of bedrooms and a living room. Sometimes there are one-room FAMILY. This room is suitable for families with 2 or 3 children. It is equipped with all the amenities of the Standard or Superior category, rarely the Deluxe category.

  • SUITE. Suite (Suite)

This is the first prestigious room category. The suite consists of 2 or 3 rooms: a bedroom, a living room and an office, or two bedrooms and a living room, famous for its fashionable interior, breathtaking view from the window and additional conditions: a bar, a jacuzzi, two toilets, toiletries, etc. Often a separate floor is allocated for the Suites, with its own lobby, bar, breakfast room, spa-center. All guests of these rooms can retire from the rest of the world and enjoy each other's company. The price of the Suite is significantly higher than the price for the Standard, approximately twice, but the payment is calculated for the entire room, regardless of the permitted number of people accommodated in the room.

  • PRESIDENTIAL SUITE. Presidential Suite

This is the most respectable and most luxurious room in the hotel. There are usually one to three of them. The Presidential Suite is made in a unique interior solution, using high quality finishes and luxurious materials. Each hotel equips such a room with an exclusive package of amenities: from three to five rooms are located in the Penthouse, on the highest floor of the building, they consist of a bedroom (one or two), an office, two bathrooms, a living room, a dining room, a hall, one or two balconies etc. Sometimes there are two-level Presidential Suite with an upper attic floor.

The cost of such a room corresponds to 5 or 10 Standard, but it is clearly worth it. Payment is made per room, not per person accommodated in the paradise bed. All the necessary information about the room should be found out personally from the hotel representatives.

  • AMBASSADOR, ROYAL SUITE. Ambassador, Royal Suite

This is the half brother of the Presidential Suite, but will differ in slightly more modest decoration and equipment. Such rooms are usually from 1 to 3 in a hotel. Room rates range between Presidential Suite and Suite. Payment for a room assumes the system of the previous one – for a room, not for a person.

  • BLW – Bungalow. Bungalow

These are secluded one- or two-story houses, made in different styles, depending on the country and the direction of the hotel. These delightful isolated cabins are perfect for nature lovers, local resort charm and intimate vacations. Bungalows are located on the territory of the hotel, all its amenities and infrastructure are available to guests. Rooms are in the Standard, Superior or Superior category, sometimes Suite, depending on the resort, and are often located on the coast or directly above the water. The cost of Bungalows is 5-15% more expensive than the above categories.

Its location is similar to the Bungalow. But it is a one- or two-storey multi-room house, with all the amenities, perhaps a jacuzzi and a wonderful terrace, balconies. The villas are rented out as separate housing for any period, and are designed for wealthy guests. It is also possible to rent Villa-Palaces, independent Residences and Castles, which are a separate resort in any city, and are equipped with service personnel. The villa can be rented partially. Payment is made for the whole house, not per person. Meals are not included as a rule, but the kitchen is most likely present. Usually a Villa is an expensive type of accommodation in a resort.

These are one-five-room suites, similar in comfort and equipment to the Standard or Family. For the category Apartments, it is typical to have a kitchen, dining room and living room, for independent living and serving oneself. The apartments are designed for 2-12 people, but there are more. This is a great place to relax with a large family and a group of friends. The prices are quite affordable and suggest an independent type of recreation. Payment is calculated on the basis of the number, not each individual.

  • STUDIO. Studio

The Studio category assumes comfort and equipment as in Standard or Family, but at the same time it has the advantage of a kitchen. One room is perfect for a small family with children who want to plan their vacation on their own and not overpay for it.
