The weather in Vietnam in June is famous for its high ambient temperature and heavy rainfall. The only exception to the general rule are the central provinces of the country, where the dry season peaks during this period.

Traveling to this Asian country in June is not worth it if you want to relax by the sea. But for those who are eager to visit this Asian region on cheap tours and, at the same time, to thoroughly explore the local attractions, the trip will be very interesting.

Weather in northern Vietnam

Provinces located in the north are experiencing the second stage of the rainy season, which is characterized by sweltering and hot weather. Heavy rains give way to hot hours, during which rather unpleasant conditions are created for recreation, walks and active tourism. The average rainfall during this period easily exceeds 250 mm. Although this is not the limit, tourists who venture to the local provinces risk spending their entire vacation at the window of the hotel room in which they are staying. The number of hours of sunshine is also decreasing.

But such a holiday has its own charms. In particular, it is in June that the best conditions are created for visiting Sapa, since these days there are practically no fogs. And from the unbearable heat, it is easiest to hide on the sea coast, where the breezes significantly soften the stuffy climate.

In Hanoi, a third of all days of the month are characterized by rainy weather. The minimum level of precipitation, which was recorded in the first summer month, is 180 mm, and typhoons are gradually becoming a necessary component of the local weather.

The situation is similar in Ha Long, in the vicinity of which precipitation reaches almost twice as much. Although the water off the coast continues to maintain comfortable temperatures. Rains in these parts are short, of medium intensity. And sometimes the weather is ready to please tourists with absolutely dry and sunny days.

Central regions

In the middle parts of the country, the first month of summer is the final stage of the dry season. As a rule, the weather is warm, dry and windless throughout the territory. Rains here are very rare, about 2-3 times less than in the north and south of the country. A beach holiday can only be disturbed by a light breeze. The thermometers record the maximum ambient temperature, and the water temperature near the coast reaches 28-29 degrees above zero.

But in the south of the country during this period, the maximum amount of precipitation falls. Only September can compete in the amount of rain in June. Just imagine, for thirty days of summer in the vicinity of Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne and other resorts, up to 330 mm of precipitation falls! The rains here are short, but plentiful and fall in the afternoon. Although sometimes absolutely dry days happen, which delight tourists with high temperatures of water and air.

Which resort to choose in June

The weather in the resort of Nha Trang, which is territorially located closer to the center of the country, is characterized by a mixed dry and humid climate. The air here easily warms up to 33 degrees Celsius, and sea water reaches 29 degrees.

Ho Chi Minh City can claim the title of the wettest June resort, on the territory of which up to 370 mm of precipitation falls! At the same time, a high ambient temperature (26-32 degrees) is maintained. But on the island of Phu Quoc you can have a good rest. Here rains, although they happen often, are of a short duration, and the water near the coast warms up to 30 degrees Celsius.
