More than 500 life-size sculptures of people, cars and even a house were placed on heavy bases to prevent them from floating away . A special concrete composition of cement, silicone and fiberglass protects installations from rapid destruction by sea water.
The creator of Museo Atlantico, which is located on the coast of Cannes, is also Jason Taylor. On the territory of the museum, underwater, there are several two-meter high sculptures made of reinforced concrete in the form of broken human faces. Jason took portraits of local residents as a model.
The sculptor’s main motivation is the desire to attract society to the problem of pollution of the world’s oceans and to show the fragility and defenselessness of the inhabitants of the underwater world.
