The next point we will note is the famous Churchkhela. It is best to buy it in the markets, and more specifically in their depths. Try to choose a thin one, not a thick one. Both are good, but the second one has more flour. Thin churchkhela is richer. There are many flavors, so focus on your preferences.

Pastila is on the same list. It is almost always sold next to churchkhela. Pastila is a kind of pita bread only with a fruity taste. In essence, it is fruit or berry puree dried in the sun. By the way, it is called tklapi.

Nuts

Nuts are another product worth paying attention to. The country grows hazelnuts on a commercial scale. But you will also find walnuts here. The markets have a large selection and assortment. Moreover, they are several times cheaper here than in many other countries.

Chestnuts and other curiosities

And the parade of goodies continues. You can find raw chestnuts in Georgian markets. These are, of course, not the ones that grow on trees in some regions, but edible ones. These cannot be found in many countries. Raw chestnuts can be cooked at home on the grill or directly in a frying pan.

Oh, this point is my favorite. Georgia has incredible spices. Food lovers will find themselves in heaven at the local markets. Of course, you need to bring Svan salt – this is salt with seasoning. You can also pay attention to the universal seasoning, suneli hops and others. Be sure to grab barberry. All seasonings can be found in Georgia at an affordable price and are sold by the glass. The best place to buy is at the market. Both cheaper and better quality. True, I have to warn you. The seasonings are very aromatic. So try to put them in a container that is odor-proof. Otherwise, all your clothes will smell of spices.

At this point, I recommend paying attention to products made from cloisonne enamel – minankari. Such jewelry looks authentic, and you can pick it up at a reasonable price. Especially in the pre-New Year period, when many places offer discounts. It is also worth considering that all products are made by hand.
