Weather in Vietnam in July – which resort to choose in summer?

The weather in Vietnam in July is both the hottest and the wettest of the entire year. The northern and southern parts of the country experience heavy rainfall, while the central provinces continue to delight visitors with a dry climate and high temperatures.

You can relax in this Asian country in the middle of summer in different ways. Someone will like numerous excursion programs more, and someone will even be able to enjoy a quality beach holiday for several days. It is also interesting that almost the same air temperature is set almost throughout the country.

Weather in the northern regions of the country

July in this part of Vietnam can be safely called the second most rainy month of the year. In a few days, up to 350 mm of precipitation can fall here, which are accompanied by the highest temperatures. Only August, which is considered the rainiest month of the year, can beat its records.

If we consider this month from the point of view of tourism, it becomes obvious that July is practically unsuitable for a good rest. The northern regions are famous for their inhospitable climate, which practically excludes the possibility of excursions and trips to attractions. Only a few days in a month are characterized by dry and cloudless weather, which allows tourists to spend their free time as they please.

Among the local resorts there is also a champion. In particular, tons of rainwater fall on Hanoi, and the average rainfall reaches 300-440 mm. At the same time, high air temperatures (up to 29 degrees above zero) persist throughout the month. Guests and residents of Ha Long are fleeing from stuffiness on the sea coast. Comfortable conditions for being here are created by numerous breezes that can bring down the heat at least a little. But in general, a holiday in the northern part of Vietnam in the middle of summer will not give any bright emotions or new impressions to those few tourists who still decide to go on vacation to this amazing country.

Central regions

But in the central part of Vietnam, tourists can continue to enjoy the dry season. Precipitation here falls much less often, and the temperature of air and water often reaches 30 degrees Celsius. Therefore, numerous tourists actively storm the sea coast in order to have time to get a tan before heavy rains cover the region.

The most suitable place to spend your holidays is Hoi An, which is famous for its calm atmosphere and measured life of the indigenous people. Numerous resort hotels are located right on the seashore, which will add a few more fads to the “Comfort" column.

Weather in the southern part of the country

The July climate in the southern provinces of Vietnam is in many ways similar to that in the northern part of the country. More abundant rains alternate with short hours of sunshine, which entails a stuffy heaviness of the air. Most of the rain falls in the afternoon, in the late afternoon. But before lunch, guests of the region can enjoy the gentle rays of the sun and cloudless skies.

The most comfortable resort for a holiday in July will be Nha Trang, which is located closest to the central part of Vietnam. Here, the least amount of precipitation and more comfortable ambient temperature. But on the island of Phu Quoc these days there is a peak of the wet season. In a few days, up to 500 mm of precipitation can fall, which are accompanied by high air and water temperatures.
