This amazing building is located in the middle of the quiet Mexican island of Isla Mujeres, not so far from the most popular Mexican resort of Cancun, just under 15 km.

The project of the original house was created by an architect named Eduardo Ocampo, and he did it for his brother, Octavio Ocampo, who is an artist by profession. The marine style in the interior of the house, as well as its decoration, is a joint work of the brothers. The house is just white! During its construction, a variety of stones, shells, pebbles, corals and wood were used, not without concrete. If you take a closer look, the smooth, streamlined shapes of the room show similarities with the works of architect Antonio Gaudi, namely, the naturalness and organic lines.

In the central room of the house – the living room, there is absolutely no corner – it is round, and due to this, the democratic nature of the entire space inside is emphasized.

Bathrooms, and there are several of them, are built with washbasins and other plumbing fixtures, which are made from real coral dust – crushed and pressed corals. Not without an exotic touch – the mixer is a medium-sized shell, and this can be called a rather bold and extravagant decision.

One of the bedrooms has a huge bed that looks like a very large beautiful shell. Shelves of transparent glass hang on the walls. Everywhere you look you can see a lot of shells that are everywhere here – on the mirrors, on the shelves, patterns on the walls, shell chairs, showers, pool walls and much more. The kitchen is also a room that looks like a mermaid's house, located at the bottom of the ocean. A spiral staircase leads to the second floor, not too large.

On the cozy courtyard there is a nice large swimming pool with clear clear water, there are sun loungers nearby, and all this is surrounded by exotic plants and palm trees – in the background the Caribbean Sea is not a place to relax, but some kind of paradise!

Rest in a shell house

Initially, the Ocampo brothers built this house exclusively for their family, but later decided to rent it out for tourists with full wallets. So, in order to stay in such a house for the weekend, or for a week or two of vacation, you need to have at least $ 225 to rent it, and this is only for one day! Not a cheap pleasure, but the rest will be remembered for a long time.

The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay – kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, sauna, swimming pool, internet connection and air conditioning. In addition, there are bed linen, towels, all necessary utensils and personal hygiene items. Often, the newlyweds rent the house after the wedding ceremony. Here they can be both separately and with a small number of guests – there is enough space. At the same time, each guest of this house will be able to get a lot of positive bright emotions and unforgettable impressions.

How to have fun

Despite the fact that the house is a work of art, not everyone wants to sit in it throughout the rest and enjoy peace and quiet, there are vacationers who, on the contrary, want to somehow have fun. In addition to the fact that you can swim in plenty of warm water and sunbathe under the warm rays of the sun on the local beach, there is an opportunity to go snorkeling – swimming under the surface of the water with a mask, fins and snorkel; diving – scuba diving at a depth. You can visit bars and discos, which at night begin to light their lights and turn on the whole public and tourists.

How to get there

Mexico has very good air links with many airports around the world. You can fly to Cancun from anywhere in the world both by direct flight and with transfers.
