Weather in Vietnam by months – choose the best time to relax

Vietnam attracts tourists all year round with its comfortable climate and the beauty of tropical nature, so it is important for those who are going to go there to know the weather patterns in different months of the year.

January weather

January is one of the driest and coolest months for the Vietnamese, but for tourists, for example, from Murmansk, this is a great time to relax. Especially in the southernmost latitudes of the country, the January temperature is close to July, so you can swim in warm water, sunbathe, like in summer.

In the north of Vietnam, it is difficult to calculate the average monthly air temperature, since it varies greatly in relation to different cities: for example, in Hanoi – 15 degrees, and in the mountainous Lao Cai – 4 degrees. April weather

In April, the weather here is mainly dry, when not a drop of rain falls in some areas. There are sunny comfortable days with an average air temperature of 23-28 degrees mainly throughout the country, except for the northernmost regions, where light rains begin to fall in the second half. For residents of Eastern Europe, April is a great time to relax even in Hanoi, where it rains, it is moderately warm, which creates comfortable conditions for walking tours of national parks.

In the central and southern provinces, April is a dry, hot season when you can swim, sunbathe, and snorkel without fear of rain. April is the last month of the dry season in the south, so there are always a lot of tourists here.

May weather

In May, in the north of Vietnam, a decade of dry days alternates with rainy ones, so May here is a transition from dry to wet season. During the day in Hanoi, it is quite hot in any weather, which favors a good beach holiday. People who are not used to such weather conditions should not come to Hanoi and other northern cities in June.

In August, it is hot everywhere, during the day in all regions it is over 30, it rains a little less in the north and south, but the wet season begins in the central provinces. The most suitable time for the beach is morning and evening, because during the day the sun mercilessly burns, and then it rains. August is not the best holiday season in Vietnam, although the prices here are very low.
