The turquoise sea, the gentle sun, the beaches with the highest quality mark (blue flag), the sights of Salou annually attract millions of tourists to the resort. During your vacation, you can visit the following places.
Fort Torre Velha
In a simple, massive building, preserved in its original form from the beginning of the 16th century, the center of modern culture is located. Initially, the fortress protected the possessions of King Carlos V from the raids of the Saracen pirates. Now exhibitions of artists, conferences, various celebrations, weddings are held here. Since 1991, the Museum of Modern Enamel has been organized in the fortress. In the compositions of museum elements, numerous products are presented, created by technologies of various techniques, methods of obtaining enamel.
The fortress tower is surrounded by a garden decorated with interesting sculptures. Among them are the “Three Graces” by Aldom Puig, depicting girls dancing the Catalan dance sardona. Manor Masia Catalana
In the eastern part of the city, you can see the real estate of the Catalans, who were engaged in agricultural work. This is a traditional house of peasants, of whom there are many preserved in Spain. The stylized structure of simple architectural elements made of stone reflects well all aspects of the life of the peasants. The manor was built in the 18th century and restored in the 20th. Household items include agricultural tools, devices for cultivating the land, and caring for pets.
During the summer, Masia Catalana Manor hosts fun fairs offering interesting handicrafts made by local artisans. In winter, the manor holds traditional holidays in honor of the Nativity of Christ. You can visit the estate without paying daily from 19:00 to 23:00. The address of the estate is Carles Buïgas, 50, Salou. It is easy to get there by walking along Jaime I Boulevard (at its end).
King Jaime I Boulevard
Parallel to the central beach of the city, there is a street that is the best place for walking around the beautiful city. Surrounded on both sides by luxurious palm trees, the street is otherwise called King Jaime I Boulevard (Paseo Jaime I). The monument to the first ruler of Arigona is located in the center of the boulevard, and at the end there is a luminous fountain. An early creation by the architect Carles Buigos, who created the famous singing fountains of Barcelona on Mount Montjunc.
The boulevard simultaneously serves as the city's embankment, its main artery. It is one of the famous streets such as Arbat, Rambla, existing in different countries. It is pleasant to walk along the pedestrian street, repeating all the curves of the coastline, decorated with stone mosaics. Among the mosaic paintings are the original coats of arms of the country's famous dynasties. Along the boulevard are old villas, restored in the Art Nouveau style, which have become the sights of Salou.
Amusement Park Port Aventura
The amusement park, covering an area of about 112 hectares, has an interesting structure, consisting of thematic zones dedicated to different countries. In one visit, you can enjoy attractions that are traditional for Mexico, China, India, etc. It gives the impression of visiting different parts of the world in one day. About 80 different programs, the show takes place here daily. Attractions are designed for visitors of any age, physical fitness.
Some of them (like dead loops) are allowed to be visited by fulfilling the specific requirements indicated in front of the attraction. The entertainment center has football, volleyball, tennis and golf grounds. There are cafes, restaurants, beach clubs, a water park, four hotels. Visiting the park is considered an expensive pleasure. The ticket price for an adult is 45 €, for children 39 €. Tickets to the water park cost from 22 to 28 €. Fountains of Salou
The city has many different fountains that complement the unique atmosphere of the sea, sunny paradise. Singing, dancing, luminous fairy tales from flowing streams of water attract increased attention. Next to the fountains they rest, make personal appointments, workers, walk the kids in bright strollers. The constantly changing shades of the water jets of the luminous fountain amaze with a set of color combinations that are formed. This creates an extraordinary visual effect.
Children are interested in joker. This is an arch that appears under the streams of water. In a short time, kids manage to run under it. The Singing Fountain (a special pride of the residents) has an original bridge that allows children, couples in love to participate in musical, laser shows that take place on weekends. The fountains of the city form a harmonious complex, producing the maximum impression, aesthetic pleasure during a long walk.
Bonet house and old olive tree
It is impossible to visit this building, the main facade of which is decorated with the inscription “Use the time, because it is gone forever”, it is not possible to see its luxurious interior decoration. The entrance for tourists to the villa is closed. This can be done at certain hours. The walls of the inner chambers are decorated with paintings reflecting the historical events of the campaigns of King Jaime I. You can admire the villa from the main boulevard. The name of the architect (Domenech Sugranies, a follower of Antonio Gaudí) and the date (1918) of construction are written on the back facade of the villa.
The famous rich man Siriac Bonet was the customer of the construction, the first owner of the villa. The architectural style of the building is considered an excellent example of the era of late modernism. House Bonet, the famous olive tree are among the sights of the city. By the way, monumental olive trees have been growing in Salou for over a thousand years. An alley of 16 trees adorns the city boulevard. Port of Salou

Monument to the Fisherman
The huge figure of a fisherman, pulling a heavy net out of the sea waves, froze at the end of the main boulevard of the city. A strong, mighty fisherman looks tired from hard work. The pier, built two hundred years ago, was an important element in the life of local fishermen. Their boats moored here, bringing the necessary food to the families. From here began the history of the city, which is reminiscent of a monument with a pedestal made of reinforced concrete, created by a resident of a neighboring village in 1990.
It is called a symbol of the maritime history of the city. The massive sculpture bears the inscription “With the effort of an entire nation”. It can be attributed to the whole city, which has turned into a magical garden. Now yachts and boats are moored to the fishing pier. Numerous tourists walk on cozy beaches, a beautiful promenade. One of my favorite places is the Monument to the Fisherman, towering at Passeig de Miramar, 3B 43840 Salou.
Cami de Ronda Bypass
Discovering the beauty of Salou has become possible along the well-equipped Cami de Ronda bypass road. The road starts from the city center and stretches (2.4 km) along the beach from Pilons to Replanels. Along the entire length of the road you can admire the sea, small cozy bays, beautiful coastline. In some places, the road rises to a height of up to 77 m above the sea. A little hard, but the pleasure of seeing the unforgettable east coast surroundings helps to overcome fatigue. The road is equipped for hiking with small children. It has a beautiful wooden staircase, a bridge.
On the way you can go to Cavallas beach, Cap Salou lighthouse (about 5 km). Along the way, rocky areas are replaced by gentle paths. Equipped with comfortable descents to the bays. Along the path you can get to the observation deck Mirador. It offers a panoramic view of the endless Mediterranean (Balearic) Sea, Llenguadets Bay. The bizarre formations of frozen rocks will always be remembered, they resemble a stone wall guarding the coast.
City Park
A place for rest, relaxation, meetings in a calm, peaceful atmosphere. It is created by countless flower beds with amazing southern plants, small artificial reservoirs with fragrant water lilies. A city park was created according to the project of the architect Anthony Bonet. Shade from different trees helps to hide from the scorching sun. Fans of calm rides can ride a variety of carousels with young children.
There are cafes in the park that offer vacationers a variety of dishes, taking into account age. Fans of souvenirs and handicrafts can use the services of the small market of the Catalan estate of Masia Catalana.
