The healing properties of hot Hungarian springs have been known since ancient times, about 2 thousand years ago, when the Romans, who owned this region, began to arrange baths for noble people. This is confirmed by archaeological excavations, as a result of which the ancient capital of western Hungary, Avinkum, was discovered, with 21 thermal baths. In the Middle Ages (especially in the 15th century), when Buda became the residence of the king, the thermal water baths again became an important area of development and the object of state laws.
From that era, the old royal bath “Rats” has been preserved, which is still operating today. During the 150 years of their power in Hungary, the Turks made a significant contribution to the arrangement of the terms – a vivid symbol of their former dominion are the excellent baths “Rudash” and “Kirayi” in Buda.
