Every modern city is proud of its sights, takes care of their safety, is engaged in development. Among them, a special place is given to museums of different thematic focus. Toy Museum

The museum is located on the central square of Munich, Marienplatz. All 4 floors of the Old Town Hall were filled with the main collection of toys from the family of the writer I. Steiger. Already on the first floor, they are greeted in a businesslike manner by old dolls made of wood, porcelain, and wax. Almost 100 types of Barbie dolls. Pinakothek der Moderne

One of the famous museums in the world is located in a modern, original building built on the site of the Turkish barracks, which planned the construction of university buildings. The second largest museum in the city was created thanks to the representatives of the Wittelsbach dynasty of kings. The collection of outlandish items brought from different continents of the planet gradually grew to a large size. It includes only original art, religious, household items in the form of original products, divided into six sections. For example, you can separately see an interesting exhibition of samples of oriental calligraphy in the form of ancient books and scrolls.

The mysterious jewelry of the Indians, their clothing, bone and silver items are presented in the North America section. The African department introduces the ancient masks, weapons, and decorations of the population of the continent. In the Asia section, you can see a real statue of Buddha, Krishna, Vishnu. BMW Museum

The modern, original building houses the BMW Welt multifunctional center, the headquarters and museum of the famous company. Since 1972, on the opening day of the Olympics, a building in the form of a four-cylinder engine has been put into operation, which has become a famous landmark of the city. The architectural complex includes a building in the form of a bowl, covered with the emblem of the company (residents call it a soup bowl). The first exhibition of the museum, which tells about the history of life on earth, opened in 1843. Annette and Udo Branhorst, the well-known collectors of works of contemporary art (owners of the well-known chemical company Henkel), donated a family collection of paintings to the city. On its basis, the fund of the future museum was formed. The new building opened in 2009. In the spacious halls, under a transparent roof, there are galleries with paintings. There are special recreation areas with comfortable furniture. This allows you to spend a long time in the museum.

Of the 700 paintings donated by the family, only 160 are on permanent display. Many masterpieces are too large. It is located in a temple-type building, erected specifically for exhibits in 1848. The basis of the museum fund was the Wittelsbach collection of ceramic objects found during excavations in the city of Vulci. The brewing traditions of 200 years are reflected in exhibitions and fun events held in the museum.

Here you can find out everything about what Oktoberfest is. How it has come about since the wedding celebrations of King Ludwig in 1880 and has become a great folklore festival. New Pinakothek

An art gallery with works by famous artists of the 19th and 20th centuries opened in 1853 thanks to the decrees of King Ludwig I. He continued to fulfill the dream of introducing his people to art, having previously created the Alte Pinakothek. In the New Pinakothek (the name of the gallery comes from the Greek word for a room for storing paintings), in addition to paintings, numerous sculptures are placed.

The expositions of the gallery are considered an intermediate link between the Old and Modern Pinakothek. They cover the period from the end of the 18th century to the first decades of the 20th century. Among 30 halls, 10 special cabinets there are over 600 famous paintings, 50 sculptures. About 5,000 paintings and 300 sculptures are stored in the gallery's storerooms, which periodically participate in temporary exhibitions.

Walking through the art gallery, you can admire Van Gogh's famous sunflowers, the masterpieces of Goya, Cezanne, Degas, Monet for a long time. Glyptotheque

The collection of the best sculptures of the architecture of ancient Greece and Rome is collected in the oldest museum (the first in Europe to open its halls to the general public) in Munich. The ancient building itself with columns was erected to store this collection in 1830 by the architect Leo von Klenze. There are 13 halls along the perimeter of the internal space of the building. The history of the museum begins in 1869. It moved to its current location in 1976. It contains plaster copies of famous ancient sculptures. Residence Museum

The life of the kings of Bavaria took place in beautiful palaces, among extraordinary luxury, which can be seen in the Museum of the Residence. The building is reminiscent of Florence's Pitti Palace. The collection of works by the abstractionists of the Blue Rider group brought fame to the art museum. Very soon there will not be a single living witness of the terrible period in the history of our country – the Great Patriotic War. Maybe the words Nazism, Hitler will disappear. But nothing from the history of one's people should be forgotten. The younger generation should know the truth, be able to understand it correctly, so as not to repeat the mistakes of grandfathers and great-grandfathers. For this purpose, museums of different thematic focus are being created. So, in the center of Munich, instead of the famous brown building (it housed the headquarters of the National Socialists), a white cube with elongated windows with numerous exhibits, telling about the birth of Hitler's party, grew up.

This is a museum filled with photographs and documents related to the time of the birth of Nazism in Germany (photo expositions occupy four floors). The materials of the museum tell about the reasons for the emergence of Nazism in the city, famous for its Pinakotheks, famous artists, beautiful palaces, and fun festivals. State Graphic Collection

The basis of the interesting collection is the collection of the Cabinet of Drawings, which originated in 1758. The future exhibits of the museum belonged to Charles of the Palatinate. At first, the collection was exhibited among the expositions of the Pinakothek, and later acquired the status of a museum. It does not yet have its own building and is exhibited on the squares of other museums. The museum fund has about 400 thousand exhibits. Among them are drawings, prints, posters created over eight centuries.

There are even drawings made by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Rubens, Rembrandt. The expositions of the museum are divided into sections of drawing, engraving, “Drawing of Italy“, “Drawing of the Netherlands”, “Drawing of Germany”, art of the 19th and 20th centuries. On the stands of the museum you can see the charcoal drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, book illustrations by Salvador Dali (“Romeo and Giudieta”), works by Van Gogh, Matisse, El Grek and other unsurpassed creators.

Shaka Gallery

It was founded by the German poet, famous philanthropist Adolf Friedrich von Shack, who lived here at the end of the 19th century. Throughout his life he supported the talented artists of Bavaria. An enthusiastic romantic, he collected a rich collection of paintings of the 19th century. It has been completely preserved and helps to feel the atmosphere of the past. Among the beautiful paintings are the works of popular Munich artists: Anselm Feuerbach, Karl Rothmann, Moritz von Schwind, and other famous masters.

Nymphenburg Palace

The beautiful palace complex was built over two centuries. It was conceived as a gift to the Queen of Savoy on the occasion of the birth of her son, the future ruler (Maximilian II Emmanuel). Under his leadership, the construction was completed in 1664. A fabulous ensemble was created from a palace, a park, pavilions, an amusing peasant village, porcelain museums, carriages. The interior decoration of the palace strikes with luxury and wealth. Not all halls are currently open to the public.

Having visited the Ceremonial Hall (otherwise it is called the Stone Hall), in which balls and solemn events were held, you can see the rich stucco molding, frescoes that have been preserved since 1738. On either side of the Ceremonial Hall were the chambers of the king and queen. The unique gallery of beauties contains a collection of portraits of the most beautiful women in the country.

Among them is a portrait of the fatal chosen one of King Louis I, Lola Montes. Because of her, he abdicated. The beauty became the heroine of Arthur Conan Doyle's novel A Scandal in Bohemia. The building for the exhibition complex was built in 1931 on the site of the burnt down Glass Palace. Since then, it has regularly hosted exhibitions of contemporary art. In one of the halls there is the famous “Golden Bar” with a disco and an elite restaurant. It was created to fulfill the commercial needs of the House of Art.
