Telč is called the city-museum, the Moravian Venice. Let's start the journey along it from the main square of Zaharias, reminiscent of a fairy tale.

On its sides along the cobbled pavement stretched a garland of unique multi-colored houses, decorated with intricate stucco and angels. Behind them, you will enter the city square with the Marian column, made in the style of minimalism. Next, we head to the Telč Castle – an architectural masterpiece, in an unchanged form of the Renaissance style, which has come down to our days. In its sumptuous Golden Hall, marvel at the ceiling carvings and see the portrait gallery of the whole family of Zakhariyash, the former owner of the castle. The collection of combat and hunting trophies is of interest in the Knights' and African Halls.

The building of the Chapel of All Saints, built by architects from Italy, adjoins the Telč Castle. Zacharias and his first wife were buried there. It remains to see only the most ancient building of Telč – the Church of the Holy Spirit with a 49-meter tower adjoining it. On it, in addition to the bells of the 17th century, see an exhibition of paintings, and from the observation deck you will admire the picturesque view of the fabulous city, which will remain in your memory for a long time.

Where to go from Prague for 1 day - 27 most interesting places

Trebic is located 142 kilometers from Prague. The town attracts the attention of tourists with a beautiful castle, recognized as a historical center. Trebic arose on the site of a former monastery, from which a basilica has been preserved in the castle. Outside the walls of the fortress in the XIII century, a city began to grow. Having passed to the central Charles Square, you will see 2 Renaissance buildings – the Black House and the Painted House. Their facades attract attention with depicted hunting scenes made using the sgrafitti technique.

The next sights of Trebic are its town hall and the monument to Cyril and Methodius. Martinska Square also deserves attention with a 75-meter tower of St. Martin's Church, preserved from the 13th century. At a height of 35 meters, the tower is equipped with an observation gallery, from which tourists admire the picturesque city panorama. On the tower you will see a clock with one of the largest dials in Europe.

In small Trebic, UNESCO became interested in two sights – the Jewish quarter with a cemetery and the basilica of St. Prokop, adding them to the list of world cultural heritage. The uniqueness of the Basilica of St. Prokop is given by the architecture, expressed by a mixture of Gothic and Romanesque styles. Of architectural value is the main entrance to the temple – the “Gates of Paradise”, made by a series of arches that create a sense of volume.

Thus, even leaving Prague for 1 day, you can see many sights that will impress you.
