Primavera Sound in Barcelona: dates, 2027 passes and the way to Parc del Fòrum

Primavera Sound in Barcelona closes ticket sales months before the first chord. Tickets sell out fast. In 2026, passes were gone long before the start (festival website).

We broke down the practical side of the trip: dates, lineup, prices, accommodation near the venue, and the route from the metro to the entrance. We also gathered the small things that can ruin an evening: lines, metro service after the shows, and re-entry rules.

What Primavera Sound in Barcelona is

Primavera Sound's format differs from a classic festival in a field. The venue sits within the city limits, so your hotel, the metro, and dinner are all close by. The lineup leans on indie rock, pop, and electronic music rather than a single genre.

Headliners play the main stages, with dozens of smaller bands performing between them.

A separate part of the program is called Primavera a la Ciutat: a series of free and low-cost concerts in bars, clubs, and neighborhood centers.

Primavera Sound dates: 2026 and 2027

In 2026, the main days fell on June 4-6, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This was the festival's twenty-fourth edition, and the organizers announced a complete sellout of passes (organizers' announcement). General sale opened on September 30, 2025 (as of 09/2026, sales calendar).

The next edition is scheduled for June 3-5, 2027 at Parc del Fòrum. This is the twenty-fifth edition, the anniversary season. Demand will be higher than usual. 2027 passes are already on sale (as of 09/2026, 2027 sales terms).

Sales go through the Fever and AccessTicket platforms, and installment payments are available (sales calendar on the festival website). Residents of the capital's Barcelona district get a 20% discount on the pass, with documents checked at the entrance (as of 09/2026, local discount).

The city portion, Primavera a la Ciutat, starts before the main days. Concerts in bars and clubs run all week, and many are free to enter. The schedule appears on the festival website closer to spring. Check it before booking flights.

Who's playing: the 2026 lineup and headliners

The 2026 lineup brings together more than 150 artists across ten stages (official lineup page). The headliners include The Cure, Gorillaz, Doja Cat, Massive Attack, My Bloody Valentine, and Addison Rae.

The bill follows Primavera Sound's usual formula. Scene veterans share the stage with young bands that a year later are playing in every bar. In past years these stages hosted Radiohead, Pixies, The National, LCD Soundsystem, Portishead, and The White Stripes.

Electronic music gets just as much space as rock. The night stages run until dawn. Pick a hotel with a 24-hour front desk. The full day-by-day schedule is published on the festival website two weeks before the start, and that's when the set planner opens too.

Tickets and passes: how much they cost

2026 prices: general pass from €350 plus fees, VIP from €545 plus fees (as of 09/2026, price overview). Prices go up with each sales phase, so deciding early saves money. A 2027 pass at the start of sales costs from €285 (as of 09/2026, official Primavera Sound 2027 ticket sales on Fever).

There's a separate ticket range for teenagers: children aged 0 to 12 get in free, and for ages 13 to 17 there's a reduced-price pass (children's passes). Teens up to and including 15 can only enter with a parent or guardian.

Part of the amount can be paid in installments. Official resale goes through Redtkt's Safe Marketplace, and this channel is safer than forums and classifieds. If you're planning to spend several days in Barcelona, add GetYourGuide tours between concerts.

Where to stay during Primavera Sound

Hostel Sant Jordi Rock Palace is decorated in a rock and roll style. It is one of the cleanest and most modern hostels in the city, and there is a pool on the roof. Open spots for the festival dates get booked early, so check prices at Sant Jordi Rock Palace on Trip.com three to four months ahead.

The second option, Meeting Point Hostels, is simpler and cheaper. The rooms are modern and clean, but there is no pool or themed decor. You can easily check availability for your dates in the Meeting Point Hostels selection.

Near the venue, in the Diagonal Mar and Sant Martí neighborhoods, mid-range hotels are the most common. The walk to the entrance takes just a few minutes, and after the last set of the night you will be back in your room very quickly. If the city program matters more to you than being close to the stages, stay in Eixample or the Gothic Quarter: you will get to the venue on metro line L4 with a transfer, but in the evening you will stay in the center.

Parc del Fòrum: how to get there

Parc del Fòrum is in the Sant Martí district, next to the Diagonal Mar shopping center. The nearest metro station, El Maresme/Fòrum, is on the yellow line L4. From the exit to the venue entrance it is about 800 meters. That is a 10 to 12 minute walk (on the map).

Surface transport: buses H16, H14, 143, 7, 36 and night buses N6 and N7 stop at Diagonal Mar (transport info from the organizers). Night routes are a lifesaver after the last metro train.

The Barcelona metro runs until midnight from Sunday to Thursday, until 2:00 on Fridays, and all night from Saturday to Sunday (TMB). After the stations close, shuttles run to and from the venue from Plaça de Catalunya, with an interval of about ten minutes (according to the shuttle schedule).

If you need the airport, the Aerobús runs from El Prat to Plaça de Catalunya, then take the metro with a transfer to L4 or a shuttle (Aerobús). Taxis are easier to order through the Free Now app: after the final set, the taxi stand line can take an hour. A transfer to your hotel is easier to book in advance, especially if you arrive in the evening.

What is inside Parc del Fòrum

The site opened in 2004 for the Fòrum Universal de les Cultures cultural forum (official website). Today it is a huge open space with sea views that also hosts other city festivals.

Besides the stages, the grounds also have a food truck zone, a chill-out area, restrooms, ATMs, and merch tents (site layout). The map comes in handy right away: without it, it is easy to lose your group and spend half an hour wandering between stages.

Festival history: from 2001 to the anniversary

The first edition took place in 2001 at Poble Espanyol. Several rock bands played across five stages, with techno DJs performing between them (festival archive). The first festival drew around 10,000 people, and by 2017 attendance had surpassed 200,000.

The growth pushed the organizers to move to Parc del Fòrum. The venue holds tens of thousands of people per night and keeps the sea view. In 2026, the festival was held for the twenty-fourth time, and the next season will be the anniversary edition.

Primavera Sound's formula has stayed the same since the early years: legendary acts and emerging artists on the same bill. Pixies, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Pet Shop Boys, Patti Smith, and The Cure have all played here.

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions

Season passes are sold out, where can I find tickets?

Official resale goes through Redtkt's Safe Marketplace (ticket resale). This channel protects the buyer: tickets are verified by the organizer, unlike listings on forums. Prices there are higher than face value, but the risk of running into a fake is minimal. Check the date and name on the ticket before paying.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Alcohol is not allowed, but you can bring as much food as you want. Food trucks and bars operate inside, so you won't go hungry. Fill up water at the fountains, and leave glass containers at home: they get confiscated at the entrance. Bring a small backpack so you don't have to carry bags between stages.

Are there lockers on the grounds?

Yes, lockers are available to the side of the main entrance, and the service is paid (venue rules). In the evening, free lockers run out quickly. If you're there for all days, leave some of your things at the hotel and bring the minimum. Bags are checked at the entrance, so allow time for security screening.

Do they accept cards or do I need cash?

The main bars and points of sale accept cards and cash, but some food trucks are cash only (payment rules). Bring a small amount of cash: there are ATMs on the grounds, but between sets a line forms at them.

Can I leave and come back to the venue?

Yes, you get a stamp on your hand when you leave, and re-entry is allowed until 3:00 (re-entry conditions). Keep your wristband or paper ticket: without them, security may not let you through the service entrance. After 3:00 re-entry is closed, so plan dinner ahead.

What weather should I expect in early June?

During the day in early June, Barcelona is usually warm, and at night it's noticeably cooler. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and a light jacket or hoodie. Choose comfortable shoes: you'll be walking on concrete and gravel between stages, and the temperature drops in the evening.

Do I need a passport at the entrance?

You need an ID when picking up your ticket on site; for guests from outside Spain, a copy is fine (entry documents). Security may check your identity at any time. Keep your ID separate from the things you leave by the stage.

In short: what to book

If you're going for all three days, buy a season pass when sales open: the price goes up with each phase. For a budget trip, Sant Jordi Rock Palace with its rooftop pool or Meeting Point Hostels are good options. A hotel in the Diagonal Mar area gives you a short walk to the stages, while a central area like Eixample works for those who want to see the city between concerts.

Sort out your airport transfer in advance: a shuttle removes the morning rush, and the Aerobús leaves from the terminals every few minutes. If you only have the weekend, get a hotel near El Maresme/Fòrum metro and plan to return by shuttle.
