Zvartnots Airport: bus for 300 drams, taxi and transfer to Yerevan
The plane lands at Zvartnots, and central Yerevan is still 12 km away on the map. Late in the evening the bus no longer runs, so you have to find a car right outside the terminal exit.
The drive into the city takes 20-30 minutes on the map. The price of the trip depends heavily on the method, so all the working options are covered below: the express bus for 300 AMD (bus fares and schedule), taxi apps, a pre-booked transfer, and a rental car.
Short answer: during the day the cheapest option is bus N201, at night a pre-booked transfer is the better deal. Skip the Aerotaxi counter and the drivers who approach you in the arrivals hall.

Ways to get to the center: comparison
💡 In short:
- Express bus N201 runs every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 22:00, the ticket costs 300 AMD (Elitebus fares).
- A taxi ride takes 20-30 minutes on the map and costs several thousand drams.
- At night the bus does not run: you are left with taxis, transfers, and rental cars.
- There is no railway between Zvartnots and Yerevan.
- Bus schedule and fare: 09/2026, verified on the official airport website.
Below, compare the options by price and time. The table shows what each method gives you.
Method | Price | Travel time | Runs at night |
|---|---|---|---|
Express bus N201 | no | ||
Taxi via app | several thousand drams | 20-30 minutes | yes |
Aerotaxi counter | fixed rate higher than the app | 20-30 minutes | yes |
Street drivers | haggling, usually more expensive | 20-30 minutes | yes |
Pre-booked transfer | at the carrier's rate | 20-30 minutes | yes |
The cheapest way is the bus, and the most predictable in price is a taxi app. Each option is covered in detail below.
Zvartnots: what awaits you on arrival
Zvartnots (Zvartnots International Airport, EVN) is a mid-sized airport 12 km from Yerevan (on the map). The terminal is compact, and you get from the jet bridge to the exit in a matter of minutes.
The arrivals hall is on the first floor, and this is also where the mobile operator counters, currency exchange, luggage storage, and the taxi desk are located. Wi-Fi in the terminal works without an Armenian phone number, so you can install a taxi app right after landing.

In recent years low-cost carriers have come to Yerevan, including Ryanair and Wizz Air. There are more flights now, including arrivals after midnight. So decide how you will get into the city before you fly.
Bus N201: 300 drams to France Square
Express bus N201 from Elitebus connects the airport with central Yerevan. This is the cheapest option: the ticket costs 300 AMD, and payment is in cash in drams (Zvartnots airport website).
© 23artashes · CC BY-SAPhoto: 23artashes, CC BY-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0), Wikimedia CommonsThe bus runs every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 22:00. There are no night services, so this option is out if you arrive late.
The stop is located between the taxi stand and the regular parking lot. Exit the arrivals hall on the first floor and look for the "Express Bus" sign, which you definitely will not miss.
Along the way the bus passes Gasparyan Street, Isakov Avenue, Victory Bridge, and Mashtots Avenue (according to the route map on t-armenia.com). The final stop is at France Square. The trip takes about 40 minutes and depends on traffic.
You arrive in the center at France Square, from where you can walk to many hotels. For this route, get small bills in advance.
The catch with the bus is that it is inconvenient with a heavy suitcase. For two people with large luggage, a taxi often wins on time.
Taxi: the GG Taxi app instead of the counter
Taxis in Yerevan are cheaper than in most European capitals. The simplest way: install the GG Taxi app and order a car over Wi-Fi right in the arrivals hall.
In the app the price is locked in before the trip, and you do not haggle with the driver. The Aerotaxi counter at the airport works on a fixed rate that is usually higher than the app.
Street drivers who approach you in the arrivals hall are best skipped. They name a price at random and charge visitors more than usual. You will find a car at the terminal exit, on the right.
You can pay in a taxi by card or in cash in drams. If the app does not work without a local SIM, connect to the airport Wi-Fi and order a ride through it.
The one catch with taxis at rush hour: central Yerevan is stuck in traffic, and the trip easily stretches to twice as long. Allow extra time if you have a bus connection.
Transfer with a driver: when it pays off
A pre-booked transfer costs more than the app, but it meets you with a sign in the arrivals hall. This is convenient if your flight lands at night or you are traveling with children.

The car is booked one way or round trip, and the price is known before the trip. For those who do not want to deal with an app on the spot, this is the calmest option.
Choose a transfer if you arrive after 22:00, when the bus no longer runs. In all other cases the GG Taxi app will cost noticeably less.
You can book a car in advance through a private transfer from Zvartnots. The driver will meet you with a sign and take you to your hotel.
Below is a selection of transfers for this route, with the price visible before you confirm and no hidden fees.

AIIllustrative image: AI-generatedIf you only need a local SIM for the duration of your trip, get an eSIM for Armenia in advance. That way you'll have internet right after landing, with no line at the counter.
Currency exchange is also available right in the arrivals hall. Don't exchange everything at once: take a small amount for your first expenses, and exchange the rest in the city at a better rate.
Luggage storage is in the public area of the arrivals hall. Exit arrivals and turn left; if the counter is closed, press the bell. Storage costs 3,500 AMD per day for a small bag and 6,000 AMD for a large suitcase (as of 09/2026, Zvartnots luggage storage).
Car rental for traveling around Armenia
If you're planning to explore the country beyond Yerevan, renting a car saves hours on buses. You book the car online and pick it up at the terminal or at your hotel.
Roads in Armenia are mostly decent, but mountain passes can close in winter. Allow extra time if you're heading to Sevan or Tatev.
You can compare prices and book a car in advance on DiscoverCars. Choose a model with extra ground clearance if mountain switchbacks are on your itinerary.
Where to stay in Yerevan
Yerevan's center is compact, and you can walk from Republic Square to the Cascade in 15-20 minutes (on the map). It makes sense to pick a hotel within that radius.
- The Alexander is chosen for its spa and pool; it's in the upper price segment.
- Daniel's Boutique Hotel sits in the mid-range and is in a convenient part of the center.
- 14th Floor is centrally located and offers a view of Mount Ararat.
- Grand Hostel works if you need a budget option for a short stopover.

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions
Does the bus run from Zvartnots at night?
No. The last N201 express leaves at 10:00 PM (Express Bus schedule). If your flight lands later, your options are taxis, a pre-booked transfer, or a rental car. It's easier to arrange the car before you fly, otherwise the price at the terminal exit will be higher.
How much is a taxi from the airport to the center?
It all depends on the method. A ride through the GG Taxi app costs a few thousand drams, the Aerotaxi desk keeps a fixed rate that's higher, and street drivers quote inflated amounts. Payment is in drams, by card or cash. Haggling at the desk doesn't work.
Where can I store luggage at Zvartnots?
In the public area of the arrivals hall, to the left of the arrivals exit. A day of storage costs 3,500-6,000 AMD depending on luggage size (as of 09/2026, Zvartnots airport).
Can I buy a SIM card right at the airport?
Yes. Ucom, Viva, and Team Telecom Armenia operate 24/7 in the arrivals hall, and every buyer needs a passport. If you don't want to wait in line, get an eSIM in advance and connect right after landing.
Is there a train between the airport and Yerevan?
No, there is no railway between Zvartnots and Yerevan. You can get there by bus N201, taxi, transfer, or rental car. If you arrive late, choose a transfer or a taxi app, since the bus is no longer running by then.
In short: what's worth booking
For most trips, two options are enough. During the day, take bus N201 for 300 AMD and don't overpay. If you arrive at night, count on a taxi or a transfer booked in advance.
If your plans are different, use this as a guide:
- Daytime flight and saving money: bus N201 to France Square.
- Night arrival: private airport transfer.
- Staying overnight in the center: Yerevan hotels on Trip.com.
Check your option before you fly, so at the airport you can simply get in the car or walk to the bus.
