The area sets the pace of your trip. Ubud sits in the center of the island among jungles and terraces: from here you head out to temples, waterfalls, and museums. Seminyak and Petitenget buzz with bars, restaurants, and villas. Nusa Dua and Benoa offer calm seas and hotel beaches, while Sanur is quieter and cheaper.

Meal plans also vary. Three hotels in this selection offer a full all-inclusive package, while the rest operate on breakfast, half board, or restaurant menus. Staying on breakfast and dining out in town works out cheaper, but then you'll need a car or scooter.

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions

Which part of Bali should I choose for a beach vacation?

If you're coming for the waves, look at the south of the island. Families will find Nusa Dua and Benoa more convenient: there are fewer currents and all the resort infrastructure is close by.

Which Bali hotels actually offer all-inclusive?

In this selection, full packages are offered by Melia Bali Indonesia in Nusa Dua, Sol Beach House Benoa, and Bhuwana Ubud Hotel. The rest operate on a breakfast-only or a la carte basis. Before booking, check what's included in the rate: at some hotels drinks and dinners are charged separately, and Bhuwana does not serve alcohol.

When is the best time to go to Bali?

The dry season runs from April to October, with rain more common from November to March. For beaches and villas with pools, June, July, and September are the most comfortable months. Prices are higher in high season, so book villas in advance. Ubud is in the mountains, where it's cooler and rainier than on the coast.

Do I need an airport transfer?

Yes, Ngurah Rai Airport is in the south, while Ubud is in the center of the island. Book a transfer in advance or take a taxi from the official counter. Hotels in Ubud often offer their own paid transfer, so ask about it when booking to avoid looking for a car at night.

How much is the Bali tourist levy?

Since February 14, 2024, foreign tourists pay 150,000 rupiah once per trip (as of 09/2026, verified on the official levy website). You can pay the levy online on the official portal or at the airport, and save the QR code on your phone. The levy is not included in the hotel price.
