18 Pattaya 4-star hotels by the sea: how to choose

Pattaya is known as a beach resort on the Gulf of Thailand. It is 150 km from Bangkok, about two hours away (As of 09/2026, official tourism authority website).

A beach note in a hotel description does not mean what it seems. Sometimes the building is across the road, and you walk through traffic to reach a sun lounger. There are fewer 4-star hotels with a private beach or direct water access in Pattaya than catalogs suggest.

We have collected 18 beachfront hotels and organized them by area: quiet Jomtien, central Pattaya, and south Pattaya. Most have a private beach, a few have a beach across the road. Below you will find each hotel's location, who it's for, and how to compare prices for your dates.

How to choose a 4-star beach hotel in Pattaya

Pattaya has two main beach areas. Jomtien stretches along the southern part of the city: the sand strip is wider, the water is calmer, and evenings are quiet. Central Pattaya along Beach Road is closer to bars, shows, and shopping malls, but the beach here is narrower and more crowded.

The second point concerns the hotel beach. A private beach means a fenced area with sun loungers and umbrellas where outsiders are not allowed. If the beach is across the road, you cross a highway every time. For families with children, this is inconvenient.

The city's lodging market is large. According to CBRE Thailand, in the first half of 2025, Chonburi province hosted 13.7 million guests, and Pattaya's hotel stock totals about 32,000 rooms across 142 hotels. There is plenty of choice, and prices for the same dates vary across platforms.

A city hotel on Beach Road with two large pools, a gym, and a spa center. Rooms range from standard to suites and club apartments with bay views. For children, there is a playroom and a separate water complex with fountains.

The beach starts right outside the property, with shops and cafes all around. A free shuttle runs to the large Central Festival shopping mall. If you are traveling with children, choose a room closer to the children's pool.

A resort with its own beach and villas in a tropical garden, some villas with a private pool. Rooms and apartments are bright, with furniture made of natural wood. Guests have access to a gym, tennis court, diving, and island excursions.

The beach starts right outside the gate, with cafes, a local market, and fruit stalls nearby. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. If you want direct sea access without crossing a road, look at the villas near the garden.

4. Sea breeze jomtien resort

The dry season runs from November to February. During this time the sea is calm and there is almost no rain. December and January are the most expensive months. How to get from Bangkok airport to the hotel?

Buses and minivans run from both Bangkok airports to Pattaya, and the trip takes about two hours. A taxi or private transfer is more convenient with luggage and takes you directly to the hotel.
