Five Barbie-themed places: what still works in 2026

The Barbie pink boom didn't start with the movie alone. Cafes, photo zones, and themed rooms opened by the dozens, and then many of them disappeared. Figuring out which ones still work in 2026 is harder than it seems. We picked five places we covered in 2023 and 2024 and checked their current status. Some venues moved, some closed, and some are still welcoming guests.

1. World of Barbie

An interactive exhibition where you walk through oversized sets from the doll world. Inside, there's a life-size Dreamhouse, a sound studio, and a station where you can get an actual blowout. A separate display is dedicated to dolls and accessories from past decades.

After Los Angeles and Toronto, the project moved to Texas and is welcoming guests at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, near Dallas (as of 09/2026, Fever). This is a touring venue, so the host city changes, and tickets are sold by time slots.

• Who it's for: fans of the doll and families with kids who care about the sets, not the souvenirs.
• Not for: those looking for a permanent museum: the exhibition moves from city to city.
• The catch: the schedule depends on the city, so check your visit date in advance.

2. Malibu Barbie Café

A cafe with a menu by chef Becky Brown: salads, pancakes, sandwiches, and ice cream set to iconic pop tunes. In Chicago, they added a roller rink. The first locations opened in New York and Chicago and ran until September 15, 2023 (as of 09/2026, The Independent).

The project now continues in Toronto, and reservations are open on the cafe's official website (as of 09/2026, Malibu Barbie Café). The menu promises 1970s Malibu vibes: pastel colors, beach details, and a photo zone with a life-size Barbie box.

• Who it's for: those who want pink photos and desserts, not a full dinner.
• The catch: the US locations closed, so the nearest operating spot is now in Canada.

3. Barbie room at the Curtis (Denver)

The Curtis hotel in downtown Denver has a lineup of hyper-themed rooms, and one of them is done in Barbie's pink aesthetic. It's more of a salon than a bedroom: a hairdresser's chair, pastel accents, and fashion posters (as of 09/2026, The Curtis).

The room is one of the themed suites, so it's booked separately from the standard rooms. The package includes themed touches and a drink at check-in.

• Who it's for: couples and solo travelers who want an unusual room for one night.
• Location: downtown Denver, in the theater district, near the 16th Street Mall.
• Price: the themed room costs more than a standard one; the hotel doesn't publish the exact surcharge.

4. The Don CeSar (St. Pete Beach)

A pink hotel on the Florida coast that first opened back in 1928 (as of 09/2026, The Don CeSar). It's not officially a Barbie hotel, but the pink facade and the nickname "Pink Palace" made it one of the stops on the pink tourism trail (as of 08/09/2026, USA Today).

Over nearly a century, the resort has served as both a hospital and a government building. Today, it's a working historic hotel on St. Pete Beach.

• Who it's for: couples and history lovers who want a seaside resort, not a themed room.
• The catch: there's no direct connection to Barbie; the hotel just happens to match the image in color.

5. Barbie suite at Hilton Bogotá Corferias (Bogotá)

For a year, a themed suite in 1990s Barbie style operated at the Hilton Bogotá Corferias. Guests could order doll-inspired snacks, join a makeup masterclass, and have dinner in a pink dining room (as of 09/2026, Hilton press release).

The suite opened on July 10, 2023, and was available for exactly one year, until July 2024. It's now part of history and can no longer be booked, but the hotel itself operates next to the Corferias convention center.

• Who it's for: guests of the Corferias convention center who need a hotel nearby, not a themed room.
• The catch: the suite is closed; the hotel now only has standard rooms.

One more thing that stood out in the pink boom was the announcement of a Barbieland park in Arizona: a Barbie Beach House rooftop, a hologram wardrobe, and a flying theater. The project never got off the ground, so we're not including it in the itinerary.
