Sharjah by the sea: how to choose a hotel with a private beach

Sharjah suits those who want the sea and the city without the bustle of a metropolis. There are no skyscrapers or nightclubs here, but there is its own airport, old quarters, and markets. Staying by the water costs noticeably less than in neighboring Dubai.

For a family or a quiet couple, it's convenient: most local hotels have their own stretch of shore, a pool, and a spa. We reviewed 13 waterfront hotels in Sharjah, from 3 to 5 stars, and most of them have their own beach. Below you'll find a comparison by price, location, and dining to help you choose the right option for your trip.

How to choose a hotel with a private beach in Sharjah

💡 In short:

  • Top 5-star category: Sheraton Sharjah Beach, Sahara Beach Resort & Spa, Radisson Blu Resort.
  • Solid 4-star options: Occidental, Copthorne, Coral Beach, Carlton, Marbella, Ewan.
  • Budget 3-star options: Sharjah Premiere, MH Beach, Lou'lou'a, Al Seef.
  • Not all have their own beach: Ewan runs a shuttle to Al Khan public beach. From Sharjah Premiere, you can walk to the public beach across the road.
  • Prices and beach availability: 09/2026, verified on the Sharjah tourism office website.

A private beach in Sharjah is a stretch of shore with loungers, umbrellas, and direct sea access from the hotel grounds. Don't confuse it with a public beach: Ewan takes guests to Al Khan by free shuttle. From Sharjah Premiere, you can walk to the public beach across the road. Sharjah is a "dry" emirate: alcohol is not sold in restaurants and shops, and a dress code applies in public places. On the plus side, in the evening you can stroll along the Al Majaz waterfront and the Khalid Lagoon.

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions

Which Sharjah hotels have their own beach?

Sheraton, Sahara Beach, Radisson Blu, Occidental, Coral Beach, Carlton, Marbella, MH Beach, and Lou'lou'a all have their own stretch of shore with loungers. Ewan guests are taken by shuttle to the city's Al Khan beach. Sharjah Premiere sits across from the city beach, so you can walk there. Copthorne has a rooftop pool. Al Seef is closer to the pool than to the shore.

How much does a vacation in Sharjah cost compared to Dubai?

Accommodation in Sharjah costs less than in Dubai, on the same Persian Gulf. The difference is noticeable among mid-range hotels. Check the exact nightly rate for your travel dates: it depends on the season and occupancy. Before booking, compare options on Trip.com using the links above.

Can you swim and sunbathe in Sharjah if it's a "dry" emirate?

Yes, swimming and sunbathing are allowed. The restrictions apply to alcohol and clothing: alcohol is not sold in stores and restaurants, and a dress code applies in public places. At your hotel beach you wear a swimsuit, but outside it, covered clothing is better.

Which Sharjah hotel should I choose with kids?

For families with children, Occidental works well with its mini club and entertainment staff, Coral Beach has pool slides and a playground, and MH Beach offers a kids' pool section and free meals for children under 6. Al Seef also has a separate pool and a play area.

How far is Sharjah from Dubai and the airport?

Sharjah has its own airport, so it's convenient to get to hotels directly from the terminal. Dubai's infrastructure is less than an hour away: some hotels, such as Occidental, run a free shuttle. Airport transfers are worth booking in advance.
