Budapest costs less than Vienna and Prague. The center is compact, you can walk it in a day, and three stars here often mean a tidy room in a historic building near the metro. Bus 100E runs from Liszt Ferenc Airport to Deák Ferenc tér without transfers, the trip takes 40 minutes (per BKK Airport Express, 09/2026).

The center of the Hungarian capital is not uniform. Pest by the Danube is quieter in the evening, the Jewish Quarter lives until morning, Terézváros costs more because of the Opera and Andrássy Avenue. The district affects not only prices but also the noise level under your windows.

First decide how many minutes you're willing to walk to the metro. Lines M1, M2, and M3 intersect at Deák Ferenc tér, from there you can easily reach any part of the city. If you arrive by train, look at hotels near Nyugati station.

1. D8 Hotel

The modern building stands by the Danube embankment, about 900 m to the Astoria M stop (on the map). Buda Castle and the History Museum are about 700 m on foot, the Great Synagogue is just under a kilometer. Breakfast is served every morning, and there's a snack bar and a shared lounge.

You can eat nearby: Gerbeaud café, Evidens bistro with a local menu, and Baraka restaurant. Beer and goulash are served at John Bull Sport Pub, a five-minute walk away. In winter it's easy to reach the Christmas markets at Vörösmarty Square and St. Stephen's Basilica from here.

The hotel occupies a building on Rákóczi Avenue in the Józsefváros district, about 2 km to the pedestrian center (on the map). The 130 rooms include economy options, spacious family rooms, and designer rooms with queen-size beds. Breakfast is served in your room or as a buffet, and a bar operates in the evening.

This is one of the few hotels in the selection with real infrastructure for kids: a playroom and playground, mini club, kids' buffet, board games and movies, cribs, and babysitting services. The hotel is in the center, next to the Great Synagogue on Dohány Street. The 99 rooms include standard single and double rooms, as well as 31 m² junior suites with a living room, bedroom, and two bathrooms. Windows overlook the city and garden, and there's a lounge with a cinema room on the floor.

Breakfast is served with a wide selection, and the bar is open around the clock, offering beer, wine, tea, and coffee. Nearby are Byblos with Lebanese cuisine, the meat restaurant Meatology Budapest, and Bors GasztroBar café. Airport transfer is available on request.

50 m away are the Sir Lancelot Knights restaurant, the Nyugati Cöli bistro with pizza and gluten-free baked goods, and The Box Donut cafe. 150 m away is the St. Andrea restaurant with wines from its own winery and the Knows Pub sports pub. The apartment complex occupies a building in the Jewish Quarter, a stone's throw from the ruin bar district. The most famous of them, Szimpla Kert, is a three-minute walk away: guests sit at tables inside an upside-down Trabant. Breakfast is served on the terrace, coffee comes from the Caffe Perte coffee shop, and groceries from METRO.

Available for booking are upgraded suites, double rooms with and without a balcony, triple rooms, and studios. The minibar is stocked for free the first time, the room has a fridge and a coffee machine, and there is private parking in the courtyard. Guests are served a buffet breakfast, and there is a sauna and a fitness center. The hotel is located in a historic building in District VII. The 100E bus stop at Deák Ferenc tér is about a five-minute walk away (according to the BKK schedule, 09/2026), and other transit stops are nearby as well. The continental breakfast is praised for its pastries, and the bar has Wi-Fi and karaoke equipment.

You can relax in the spa center with a jacuzzi, sauna, pool, and massage, or work out in the fitness room. Guests are offered walking tours, including pub crawls, and car rental. Nearby are BB'z Bar & Grill with burgers and the wood-fired pizzeria Pizza Me.

The complex offers 32 bright studio and standard rooms with large balconies and kitchenettes. Rooms on the lower floors have terrace access. A continental breakfast is served in the mornings, and you can get a heartier meal at nearby places: Rose Restaurant, Kis Kulacs Bisztro & Bar with local cuisine and gypsy music, Bangla Bufe Premium, and the Lado cafe.

Dinner is not a problem either: the Szazeves restaurant with a Hungarian menu and The Italian Kitchen with large portions are 100 m away. Nearby are the family-run Comme Chez Soi with cuisine from different regions of Italy, La Cucina, and the Gerbeaud cafe. Families are offered cribs and a mini club, and tours or car rental can be arranged on request.

The hotel is designed for active travelers. A nightclub operates in the same building, and entry to Morrisons Music Pub 2 is free for guests. The 103 rooms of various types have designer renovations, a buffet is served in the mornings, and there is a children's buffet.

The 30 rooms include studios, double studio apartments, options with a balcony and one or two bedrooms. Each room has its own kitchenette and dining area, and family rooms have a separate children's room.

High chairs and cribs are available on request, and children under two stay free. A supermarket is nearby, and there's a garden for walks.
