Antalya 2026: real trip budget and where it is easy to overpay

Antalya has been a top destination for German tourists for years. A package with flights and a hotel looks like a fixed price. On the ground, the budget still grows: taxis, dinners, excursions, and tips.

The short answer: outside the hotel, a person spends a few dozen euros a day, a metered taxi from the airport to the center costs about €11 (about 625 lira at the city rate, rates as of 23.03.2026), and a private transfer is quoted as a fixed price per car. The main budget variable is not food, but the trip from the airport.

Food and drinks: how much lunch costs in Antalya

💡 In short:

  • Lunch at a lokanta starts at about €5, a three-course dinner at a mid-range restaurant starts at about €20 per person, and it costs more near the waterfront (benchmarks from a vacation price overview).
  • Restaurant tips: about 10% of the bill (Portolana, 09/2026).

The culinary range in Antalya is huge. Dinner on the waterfront or in the marina costs several times more than at a lokanta two blocks away. Turn onto a side street, and the same Turkish cuisine will cost noticeably less.

Here are per-person price benchmarks. They show how much to budget per day outside the hotel:

  • Simple lunch (döner, pide, or soup): from about €5.
  • Three-course dinner at a mid-range restaurant: from about €20.
  • A cup of Turkish coffee or cappuccino: about €3.
  • Local Efes beer (0.5 l) at a restaurant: about €5.
  • A 1.5 l bottle of water at a supermarket: under €1.

(benchmarks based on averaged prices, tourist areas cost more)

Saving on food is simple. Stay away from restaurants near the main attractions. In the side streets you will find the same cuisine for half the bill, and there is almost none of the pushy photo menus.

Taxis in Antalya: 2026 rates and the airport trip

Antalya's taxi rates are set by the city, and they were updated in 2026. Since March 23, 2026, central districts have a base fare of 40 lira (about €0.7) and 45 lira (about €0.8) per kilometer, with a minimum trip of 200 lira (as of 09/2026, Akdeniz Gerçek on the city council decision).

For areas like Alanya, Manavgat, and Kaş, the rate is higher: a base fare of 60 lira, 70 lira per kilometer, minimum 250 lira (same source). That is why the long trip from the airport costs a lot.

AYT Airport is 13 km east of the center. The drive to the center takes about 20 minutes, to Belek it is 32 km (35 minutes), to Side 65 km (an hour), to Alanya 125 km (almost two hours) (AYT airport data, 2026).

Three rules will protect your money. Ask the driver to turn on the meter (taksimetre) before the trip starts. For longer routes to Belek or Side, agree on a fixed amount in advance. And keep a card or small bills on hand, because not every car has a card terminal.

Bus and tram: the cheapest way from the airport

The Havaş bus stops at the terminal and goes to the center, with a ticket costing a few euros in lira. The trip takes about 45 minutes, and tickets are bought at a counter in the arrivals area or online; check the current price and child policies at the counter (Havaş schedule, 2026).

The Antaş city bus is cheaper: 42 lira (about €0.75) with an AntalyaKart card to the center or the bus station, about an hour on the road. Cash is not accepted; when paying by bank card, the ride costs 50 lira (as of 09/2026, fares effective 23.03.2026).

The most budget-friendly option is the Antray tram combined with a city bus: 42 lira with AntalyaKart, with free transfers within 60 minutes (as of 09/2026, city transport fares). However, with luggage you have to make two transfers, which is inconvenient.

Important: Havaş and Antaş only go to the center. If your hotel is in Belek, Side, or Kemer, the bus does not go there, and you will need to take a taxi or a transfer.

Private transfer: when it beats a taxi

A private transfer is priced per vehicle, not per person. For a family of three or four, it is often cheaper than a taxi and definitely more predictable. The driver waits in the arrivals hall, and you know the price before you fly. You see the per-vehicle price when booking; it depends on the distance and the vehicle class.

A child seat in a private transfer should be ordered in advance, and it is worth confirming when booking. Payment is usually made in cash in the vehicle, sometimes online.

Tours and tickets: how to save in Antalya

Tours and activities in Antalya vary in price. Boat trips, water sports, and trips to Pamukkale depend on the season, timing, and group size.

For groups and families, almost everywhere offers a group discount, so booking for several people at once works out cheaper. Tickets for popular tours in high season are best bought in advance, as they may simply be unavailable on the spot.

Check what is included in the price. Drinks, insurance, and entrance tickets are often charged separately and can significantly change your final total.

Accommodation and all inclusive: what is actually included

An all inclusive package covers basic meals and local drinks. After that, the extras begin: imported alcohol, the spa, à-la-carte restaurants, and some sports activities almost always cost extra.

Set aside a small buffer for this so you are not counting lira at the bar. Hotel prices in Antalya depend on the season and area: Belek and Konyaaltı are more expensive, while the center and Lara are cheaper.

Tipping in Turkey: how much and what to tip for

Tipping, or bahşiş, in Turkey is part of the culture. In restaurants, people leave around 10% of the bill, and up to 15% for very good service. It is better to leave the money in cash on the table, even if you pay by card (tipping data, 09/2026).

Tipping a taxi driver is not required. Rounding up the fare is enough, and on a long trip with luggage, add a couple of lira. A hotel porter gets a small amount per bag, and a housekeeper also gets a little every few days (according to Portolana).

A tour guide is usually tipped around 10% of the tour cost. If the service was poor, nobody expects you to pay extra (tipping norms in Turkey, 09/2026).

⁉️🤔 Frequently asked questions

Can you pay with euros in Antalya?

In the tourist areas of Belek, Side, and Alanya, euros are accepted in cafes and by transfer services. For small purchases at the market, pharmacy, or supermarket, keep lira or a card on hand. The local exchange rate is usually worse than when paying by card, so it is better to pay larger amounts by card.

Is it worth bargaining at the bazaar?

At textile and souvenir bazaars, bargaining is common and even expected. You can often bring the initial price down by about a third. In supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants, prices are fixed, and bargaining is inappropriate there.

How much does a transfer to Belek or Side cost?

A taxi from AYT to Belek (32 km) and to Side (65 km) goes far beyond the city center, so agree on the amount with the driver before the trip (distances from the airport, 2026). A private transfer charges a fixed price per car, so for a family it works out cheaper and without surprises on arrival.

Do you need cash lira in Antalya?

A small amount of cash will come in handy: the AntalyaKart card for buses, the market, small tips, and a taxi driver without a card terminal. It is more convenient to cover the bulk of your expenses by card. Exchange offices in tourist areas offer different rates, so compare before exchanging.

In short: what is worth booking

Transport from the airport is the main item where it is easy to overpay. Choose based on your travel party:

  • Traveling with family or a group: a private transfer with a fixed price per car.
  • Flying into the center as a couple: a metered taxi or the Havaş bus (Havaş price and schedule).
  • Hotel in Belek or Side: book a transfer in advance, the bus does not go there.

Choose your hotel by area: Belek and Konyaaltı are more expensive, the center is cheaper. Accommodation and excursions remain the main budget items outside the package. Compare hotel prices in Antalya and browse excursions in advance.
