Belek: beaches, first-line hotels and season for a trip
You want a beach vacation without constant excursions and a hotel by the sea. Belek fits exactly that scenario. It has flat sandy beaches, warm sea almost year-round, and dozens of four- and five-star hotels along the coast.
The resort lies in the Serik district, east of Antalya. According to the census, about 9,000 people live here (census data, 2022). There are more than thirty high-category hotels, so there is plenty to choose from, but prices stay higher than in Kemer or Side.

All the resort's beaches are sandy, with a gentle entry. The bottom is even, so children enter the water without fear. The beaches are open, and access is free almost everywhere.

Belek has a Mediterranean climate. In summer the air heats above +30 °C, in winter it stays around +15 °C during the day, and the water rarely drops below +18 °C.
Swimming is comfortable from May to November. The peak heat falls in July and August, so book a room with air conditioning and shade. The mildest weather is in late April, May, September, and October. The weather stays comfortable, and prices are noticeably lower than in summer.
If you are traveling with children, choose the first half of June. The sea is already warm, and the lines at the water slides are shorter than at the height of the season.

Golf and nature around Belek
Belek is considered the golf capital of Turkey. In 2008, the IAGTO association named it the best golf region in Europe, and later the Turkish Airlines Open and the Antalya Open tennis tournament were held here (IAGTO data, 2008).
Coniferous forests stretch around the town, and Köprülü National Park is home to deer, mountain goats, foxes, and wolves. The park covers 366 km² and was established in 1973.
Köprülü Canyon stretches for 14 kilometers, and its walls rise up to 100 meters. The Köprü River is suitable for rafting and camping (as of 09/2026, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey). Inside the park lie the ruins of the ancient city of Selge with a theater and temples of Zeus and Artemis.
What to do at the resort
The Rixos hotel has an antique-style water park: slides, pools, and a Trojan horse figure. A dolphinarium is open in the coastal zone. The strip along the sea has plenty of spa centers, Turkish baths, and golf courses.
The beaches offer kitesurfing, parasailing, and water skiing. Diving clubs take groups to the underwater rocks of the Mediterranean. In the evening, bars, clubs, and discos are open, so you will not be bored.
Souvenirs are bought at the eastern bazaar, and gold and silver jewelry is found at the jewelry center. Souvenir prices are close to the national average. Bargaining is appropriate, but without getting carried away.

Belek is within a half-hour drive of several ancient cities. Perge lies 15 kilometers east of Antalya. It was the former capital of the Roman province of Pamphylia, and the mathematician Apollonius was born here.

Its diameter is 96 meters, it seated about 7,000 spectators, and it was built in the 2nd century. In summer, opera performances are staged on this stage.
Side and Termessos also work for a day trip, but the drive takes longer. In Termessos, a mountain city above the valley has been preserved, reached by a winding road. The Antalya Museum holds a large collection of ancient sculptures, and it is a good option for a hot afternoon.
How to get from Antalya airport
The nearest airport: Antalya (AYT). The drive to Belek takes under an hour, though traffic jams occur on the highway during the day. A taxi to the hotel costs more than the bus, but it is more convenient with luggage.
Public buses go to Serik, and from there you take a taxi or the hotel shuttle. If you are traveling with children, book a transfer in advance: cars with child seats sell out fastest.
