How to buy a tour to the Dominican Republic online

You buy a package tour online, with no office visits and no meetings with agents. You compare hotels, dates, and meal plans on screen, and the booking itself takes a few minutes.

Paying by card online is just as safe as paying at an agency: a payment service, email confirmation, and a contract in your account. Before paying, check three things: cancellation terms, meal plan, and distance from the hotel to the beach.

Choosing on your own saves time and stress. You don't depend on an agency's schedule and you see the whole market at once, not three options from a catalog.

What's included in all-inclusive

The all-inclusive system covers more than just breakfast and dinner. The price usually includes drinks, entertainment staff, and activities on the hotel grounds.

The main advantage is that you don't count expenses every day. A large resort feeds you, keeps you hydrated, and entertains you with no extra charges, and you can stay on the property the entire time. Excursions are purchased separately and only if you want them.

The second advantage: the entertainment. Dominican programs differ from Turkish and Egyptian ones, and the teams work on the beach and by the pool all day. All-inclusive hotels also look after guest safety.

When to go to the Dominican Republic

You can swim here year-round, but the weather follows seasons. The Atlantic rainy season and hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30 (US National Hurricane Center, as of 09/2026).

In summer, downpours are short and intense, but daytime is usually sunny. In August and September, tropical storms join the rains, and that gets in the way of a beach vacation. The calmest months: December, January, February, March, and April. The air is warm, humidity is lower, and rain is rare.

In high season, hotels are more expensive, and that's a fair price for stable weather. Book your trip at the edge of the seasons, in late November or early May: there's plenty of sun, you get comfortable weather, and the price is noticeably lower. Punta Cana and Bavaro: the country's main resort

The most popular destination in the Dominican Republic. A long stretch of white sand, five-star all-inclusive hotels, seafood restaurants, and lagoons nearby. It's also a convenient base for excursions to Saona Island.

Cabarete: wind and nightlife

This north coast resort is known for its waves. Windsurfers and kitesurfers come here, and in the evening bars and clubs open along the beach.

Sosua: budget-friendly and lively

Cabarete's neighbor and the most affordable resort in the north. Lots of small hotels, bars, and dive centers. A good fit for those who want nightlife and aren't willing to pay for five stars.

Playa Dorada and Cap Cana: expensive and quiet

Two resorts near Puerto Plata aim for the upscale market. They have golf courses, casinos, yacht clubs, and high-end all-inclusive hotels. Prices are higher, but the grounds are quieter and greener.

Samana: nature and whales

A peninsula in the northeast of the country. In winter, humpback whales come into the bay, and nearby are El Limon waterfall and Rincon beach. The hotels here are more modest, but you wake up surrounded by greenery rather than concrete.

How to get to the Dominican Republic and what you need for entry

Most flights from Europe arrive through Punta Cana Airport (PUJ). In winter, there are direct flights from Germany, as well as connecting routes via Madrid and Paris (Punta Cana Airport, as of 09/2026).

For entry and exit, you need an electronic E-Ticket. One document covers immigration, customs, and health, and each passenger fills it out separately (E-Ticket form on the immigration service website, as of 09/2026). Do this before departure and save the PDF on your phone.

From the airport to Bavaro hotels is about 20 km (on the map), and the trip takes about half an hour. An official taxi costs more than a prepaid transfer, and a group shuttle is cheaper than both. If you're traveling as a family with luggage, book a private transfer.
