Wieliczka Salt Mine: tickets with time slot and road from Krakow

How to get there from Krakow

All the decoration is carved from salt. Huge chandeliers hang from the ceiling, statues of saints stand along the walls, and the Last Supper is reproduced on one of the walls.

Nearby is Nicolaus Copernicus' chamber with a huge salt statue of the astronomer. Copernicus did visit Wieliczka, as the mine's documents remind us.
