On Rhodes, a 4-star hotel on the first line can stand near noisy Faliraki, near quiet Lardos, or near the old town itself.

Each of them promises "all inclusive" and a sandy beach. In practice, you get a different shore, a different road to town, and a different set of services.

We cross-checked the location and infrastructure of fifteen hotels against data from the island's tourist office (as of 09/2026, Visit Rhodes) and sorted the list by practical criteria: beach type, water entry, children's amenities, and the route to town.

How to choose a 4-star hotel on Rhodes

First line on Rhodes does not guarantee a sandy beach. The shore at Ialysos and Faliraki is more often sandy, while Kiotari and Lardos have rocks and pebbles in places. Water entry also varies: somewhere there is a shallow strip, and somewhere a rock shelf.

A private beach saves you time and effort. Hotels without one usually compensate with a large pool with loungers, and then swimming does not depend on the wind.

Check what exactly is included in "all inclusive": breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main restaurant, snacks and drinks at the bars throughout the day, sometimes ice cream. Children's infrastructure often decides the choice, since a kids' club, a shallow pool, and entertainers take part of the parents' day.

The hotel stands in Ialysos, a minute's walk from the shore. The rooms look out over the Aegean Sea, and the main argument for families with children is in the courtyard.

It is a large pool with slides and a "lazy river" attraction. Dining is gathered in the main restaurant, where the choice of dishes is wide. You can grab a snack at the pool bar: it serves cold and hot appetizers, cocktails, and ice cream. Local drinks are offered in the main bar.

For relaxation, there is a wellness center, an indoor pool, hot tubs, and a sauna. Active guests do sports, while children get a pool, a playground, and entertainers. Shops and car rental are available on site, so you won't have to go to town for souvenirs.

The hotel occupies a shoreline almost at the water's edge, and Rhodes Town can be reached in ten minutes (on the map). Two large freshwater pools with sun loungers around them are open for swimming.

Dining here is built around local products. Breakfast is served Greek style, lunch consists of Mediterranean dishes, and in the evening guests can enjoy a barbecue.

The sports facilities include a fitness center and tennis courts. There is also a football and five-a-side pitch, as well as a volleyball court, so you won't have to look for activities off the property.

The hotel is located near the village of Kallithea and opens onto an organized beach with a Blue Flag. Sun loungers and umbrellas that protect you from the sun are set up around the pools.

Several restaurants and bars operate on site, including a separate bar for children. Guests praise the selection of local fruits, coffee, and wine. By the pool you can get ice cream and soft drinks.

The sea begins almost at the hotel's walls, and the walk to the beach will take you less than a minute. The old town of Rhodes is close by. The rooms offer views of the Aegean Sea.

The hotel is set in a palm garden that adjoins a clean sandy beach with a well-equipped shoreline. It's more than ten kilometers to Rhodes Town and only two to Faliraki (on the map).

Diagoras Airport is on the western side of the island. The drive to Ialysos and Faliraki takes about half an hour by car (by map), while getting to Kiotari and Lardos in the south takes noticeably longer. It's easier to book a transfer in advance than to look for a car with your luggage on arrival.
