Many people plan their visit as a short stop for just one park. In reality, you end up spending a whole day here: rides, a water park, waterfront shows, and dozens of restaurants eat up more time than you expect.

The complex opened on January 20, 2010, and became fully operational on December 7, 2012 (according to Wikipedia). The project for Genting Singapore was designed by American architect Michael Graves, known for his postmodernist buildings.

Construction began in 2007, took more than three years, and cost 6.59 billion Singapore dollars (according to Wikipedia). About 50 hectares were allocated for the complex, while a significant portion of the island's tropical greenery was preserved.

Today, seven hotels offer more than 1,800 rooms, from the family-friendly Hotel Ora to Crockfords Tower with luxury suites, plus a casino and several entertainment zones (as of 14.09.2026, complex website). Each hotel has its own style, so here you choose not only the price but also the atmosphere.

The complex's casino opened on February 14, 2010, the first day of Chinese New Year, and became one of two legal casinos in Singapore (according to Wikipedia).

The gaming space covers about 15,000 m² under Crockfords Tower, where the hotel of the same name is also located (according to Wikipedia). Slot machines and tables are spread across several halls, with separate rooms set aside for high rollers.

Entry rules here are strict and the same for everyone: age 21 and over, no shorts or flip-flops, foreign guests must show a passport (according to Wikipedia). Citizens and permanent residents of Singapore pay a separate levy, so locals are noticeably fewer here than tourists.

The casino is considered the financial foundation of the entire resort (according to the complex's history). If gambling is not for you, the complex is still worth your attention: nearby there is a park, an oceanarium, and a waterfront with evening lighting.

Entertainment at the complex

Festive Walk runs through the center of the complex, a boulevard with attractions, shops, and evening lighting (according to the complex website). After sunset, all the island's guests gather here.

The main park, Universal Studios Singapore, is divided into themed zones: ancient Egypt, New York, Hollywood, Madagascar, and the world of Jurassic Park. For children, there are rides based on movies and a separate entertainment program.

The complex's waterfront hosts an evening Crane Dance show: crane figures as tall as a ten-story building move over the water to music and lighting. You can watch it for free while strolling along Festive Walk by the water.

Check the show schedule and availability on the complex's website before your trip. Even if the show isn't running on your evening, the waterfront and lagoon remain a pleasant place for a walk.

Restaurants and cafes

Dining at Resorts World Sentosa isn't limited to food courts: the complex's page separately lists fine dining restaurants, bars, cafes, and dessert spots.

Notable places include Hard Rock Cafe, Malaysian Food Street with Asian street food, and Ruyi, while the list of signature restaurants features Osia Steak and Seafood Grill, Ocean Restaurant, and the Pierre Hermé patisserie (as of 09/2026, restaurant list).

Try local dishes: chili crab, dim sum, satay, and rendang. Food court prices are usually lower than at waterfront restaurants, so it's more convenient to plan lunch in the shopping area.

How to get to Resorts World Sentosa

The easiest way is to take the Sentosa Express monorail. The line starts at VivoCity station inside the shopping mall of the same name, which you reach by MRT to HarbourFront station. The ride to the Resorts World stop takes 8 minutes (as of 09/2026, line description).

Trains run from 7:00 AM to midnight with intervals of about three minutes (according to Wikipedia). The fare from the mainland is paid, around 4 Singapore dollars with a standard card, and it's free for children. Returning to the mainland and traveling between stations on the island costs nothing extra.

Alternatives: the Singapore Cable Car with harbor views and the Sentosa Boardwalk pedestrian promenade with moving walkways from VivoCity. With luggage, the monorail or a taxi is more convenient.

From Changi Airport, take the MRT to HarbourFront, then walk into the shopping mall and board the Express. With transfers, the trip takes about an hour.
