Universal Studios Singapore: how much tickets cost and how to skip the line

Universal Studios Singapore operates on Sentosa Island. It is the first and only Universal park in Southeast Asia (according to the park's official website). On weekends the park welcomes thousands of guests, and lines for the main coasters stretch to an hour or more.

We broke down the themed zones, the strongest attractions, ticket prices and the express pass, as well as the route from the city to the entrance itself.

Grounds and infrastructure

The park covers about 20 hectares, and seven themed zones fit on them (according to the official Sentosa portal). Each zone is styled after its own movie or cartoon. Even the souvenirs sold here differ.

Restaurants and cafes also change from zone to zone, so you can easily pick lunch to suit your tastes. Each attraction has a sign with height and age restrictions. At the entrance you can pick up a park map for free. It makes it easy to plan your day and avoid walking extra loops.

Hollywood zone

The Hollywood boulevard opens right past the entrance. Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin stroll along the boulevard, and guests happily take photos with them. Shops, cafes and a Broadway-style theater line both sides.

Closer to evening, fireworks are sometimes launched here. During the day, parades are held on the boulevard.

New York zone

Next you enter New York, built like a set from old movies and sitcoms. The streets replicate blocks from familiar TV series, so a lot of filming happens here.

This zone is home to the Lights, Camera, Action! pavilion. Director Steven Spielberg shows how special effects for major motion pictures are created there.

Madagascar zone

The Madagascar zone is designed for the youngest guests. Alex the lion and Marty the zebra perform fun skits and take photos with children. The area is filled with tropical trees, bamboo, and golden sand.

Far Far Away zone

The Far Far Away area continues the animated film theme and introduces guests to the characters from Shrek. It's hard to miss: a huge castle rises in the center. If you're tired of the heat, step into the 4D cinema with a short adventure film.

Ancient Egypt zone

History lovers will enjoy the Ancient Egypt zone with its tombs, mummies, and pharaohs. Huge statues of Anubis greet guests right at the entrance. The zone's design recreates the atmosphere of the great excavation era.

Sci-Fi City zone

Sci-Fi City transports you to a world of the future with robots and spaceships. The scenery features recognizable details from Battlestar Galactica and Transformers. The latter has its own dedicated attraction.

The Lost World zone

The Lost World is based on Steven Spielberg's films. One part of the zone is occupied by dinosaurs, while the second showcases a water world with a stunt show. This is where the park's wettest drop takes place.

Entertainment and attractions

No two attractions in the park are alike. Each zone draws on its own characters, and one day isn't enough to see everything. We've rounded up the ones guests most often call the best.

Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs CYLON races you between buildings and ends with a drop into the mist. Revenge of the Mummy accelerates in complete darkness and snaps into sharp turns.

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure ends with a plunge into the water. Bring a raincoat and shoes that can handle getting wet. Waterworld is a large show with stunts and pyrotechnics right on the water.

Where to buy tickets and express passes

A day pass can be purchased online or at the ticket booths by the entrance. The electronic version doesn't need to be exchanged: you just show it on your phone. Children under four get in free (according to the Sentosa guide).

Online tickets start at SGD 76, and the price at the ticket booth is usually higher (as of 09/2026, official prices). Comparing options in advance is more convenient than standing at the window.

The Express Pass is purchased separately, in addition to the entry ticket. It is a separate wristband or code that lets you get to an attraction without waiting in line. Keep in mind: lines are longest on weekends and holidays, which is when the Express Pass pays off the most.

Opening hours and how to get there

The park usually opens at 10:00, while closing time varies by date (as of 09/2026, current schedule). The current schedule is always visible in the calendar on the website. Arrive at opening time: by midday, the lines for the rides are at their longest.

You can get there in four ways:

• Sentosa Express monorail: from VivoCity to Resorts World station (according to the official monorail page).
• Cable car: goes to the island, then you walk or take a free shuttle bus.
• Bus: the Resorts World Sentosa stop is right at the entrance.
• On foot: the Sentosa Boardwalk promenade with moving walkways, follow the signs.
