How much does a holiday in Alanya cost in 2026: budget in euros and lira at the new exchange rate

How much money should you take to Alanya in fall 2026? Old budgets from previous reviews no longer work here. They were calculated when a euro bought about 35 lira, but at the ECB rate on 15.09.2026, 1 € buys 56.13 TRY (ECB data). Prices in lira have gone up, but the lira has also weakened, so amounts in euros need to be recalculated from scratch.

We have recompiled expenses by category: accommodation, food, drinks, groceries, transport, entrance tickets and excursions. Every exact price comes with a date and source, and the daily, weekly and monthly budgets have been recalculated using September data.

Is Alanya expensive for a vacation in 2026

No, Alanya is still an inexpensive resort by Mediterranean standards. Lunch at a simple cafe costs about 350 TRY, roughly 6.20 €, and a city bus ride with a transport card costs 42 TRY, about 0.75 € (Numbeo prices for Alanya, 09/2026). The biggest expenses will be your flight and hotel in July and August.

💡 In short:

  • Excluding accommodation, budget about 16 € per day in economy mode and about 29 € on average, based on the editorial team's calculation using Numbeo prices.
  • The main expense categories are accommodation in summer and airfare, so those are where you should save first.
  • The cheapest time is the low season, shoulder season prices are moderate, and the peak falls in July and August.
  • Prices and opening hours: 09/2026, verified on the official website of Turkey's museums and using Numbeo data, converted at the ECB rate of 56.13 TRY per 1 €.

Local food, supermarket groceries and buses remain cheap even when converted to euros. The tourist promenade, beach bars and taxis, on the other hand, burn through your budget quickly. So the final cost of your trip depends more on your habits than on the resort itself.

The lira exchange rate: why old budgets no longer work

The Turkish lira has weakened significantly against the euro in recent years. Domestic prices rise along with it: cafe menus, bus fares and entrance tickets are revised several times a year. A euro figure from a review written two years ago is therefore almost always wrong, and in both directions.

Here is a transport example you will notice on your very first day. In December 2025, the full fare for an Alanya city bus with a card was 35 TRY, and from 23.03.2026 it went up to 42 TRY (Yeni Alanya article on the fare increase, 03/2026). The increase in lira is noticeable, but in euros the ride still costs less than one euro.

Here is our method: we take prices in lira from the source and convert them to euros at the ECB reference rate on 15.09.2026, which is 56.13 TRY per 1 € (ECB rates). Check the rate again before your trip: if the lira moves by 5-10%, recalculate the euro amounts yourself.

Budget for a day, a week and a month

The budget below is the editorial team's calculation excluding flights and accommodation, per person. Accommodation depends too heavily on season and area, so you add it on top based on your own booking. The calculation is based on average Numbeo prices for Alanya as of 09/2026 and the ECB rate of 56.13 TRY per 1 €.

Economy day: breakfast from a store (bread, eggs, tomatoes, milk) about 100 TRY, lunch and dinner at simple cafes at 350 TRY each, one and a half liters of water 31 TRY and two bus rides at 42 TRY each. Total about 915 TRY. Average day: the same breakfast, lunch at a cafe, dinner at a mid-range restaurant (half of a bill for two, 700 TRY), a cappuccino, a glass of draft beer, two bottles of water and two bus rides. Total about 1,640 TRY.

When Alanya is cheapest

The season decides everything, and you save simply by choosing your dates. In high season and during holidays, housing prices rise noticeably above the annual average. In low season, hotels do the opposite and discount their rooms, while many beach businesses close. Flights follow the same logic: more expensive in summer, cheaper in winter.

panorama of Alanya with the Red Tower and harbor

Below is how the three seasons look by weather, prices, and crowds. Pick the one that fits your goal: beach, sightseeing, or saving money.

Season

Months

Weather

Prices and crowds

Low

November-March

cool, rain

lowest prices, few tourists

Shoulder

April-June, September-October

mild, warm

average prices, comfortable

High

July-August

hot, sunny

peak prices, lots of people

Low season, from November to March, is the cheapest time. There are few tourists, and hotels and tickets drop in price. It is cool for the beach, but you can visit the fortress and museums without crowds. Note the shorter hours: in winter the inner fortress is open from 8:00 to 18:00 on weekdays, and until 17:00 on weekends (Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, 09/2026).

Shoulder season, spring from April to June and fall from September to October. The weather is mild, prices are moderate, and the beaches are not packed. This is the best time for walks and sightseeing. On national and religious holidays in Turkey, prices spike for a couple of days, so check your dates against the holiday calendar.

High season, July and August. Hot, sunny, and prices are at their peak. Hotels and tours get more expensive, and popular spots are overcrowded. If you go in summer, book your accommodation in advance: by the start of the season, the affordable options are the first to go.

Flights: when tickets are cheaper

The cheapest time to fly is low season, from November to March. In these months, tickets from Europe drop the most, while in summer they rise. Search early and compare nearby dates: a weekday departure is often cheaper than a weekend one. Flexible dates save more than any promo code.

If you want to catch a low price, compare tickets on Kiwi.com across nearby dates. The arrival airport is usually Antalya or Gazipasa. Getting from Antalya to Alanya takes noticeably longer than from Gazipasa, so factor the trip into your plans.

Accommodation: hotels and apartments

Accommodation is the main variable in your budget. No reliable open source publishes an exact average nightly price for Alanya, so we give ranges as a guide. Guesthouses, hostels, and simple no-star hotels in the off-season stay in the lower double-digit euro range per room. Mid-range city hotels cost noticeably more, and in summer the price for the same rooms rises several times over.

Large beachfront hotels and all-inclusive resorts live in a different price category: in July and August a night for two there easily runs into three figures. But meals are included, and for a family with children the total sometimes works out comparable to a city hotel plus cafes.

Apartments and separate flats are better value for a couple or family and for a longer trip. A kitchen lets you cook for yourself, and hosts often give a discount on weekly and monthly bookings. Ask about the weekly rate directly when booking.

Where to look on a budget: areas away from Cleopatra Beach are cheaper than the beachfront. Guesthouses and apartments in the neighborhoods near the fortress and in Oba are often better value than chain hotels. Compare options for your dates before booking.

Food: prices in cafes and restaurants

Eating in Alanya is inexpensive if you stick to local places. Lunch at a simple cafe costs about 350 TRY (≈€6.20), a three-course dinner for two at a mid-range restaurant about 1,400 TRY (≈€25), a McDonald's combo about 400 TRY (≈€7.10) (Numbeo restaurant prices, 09/2026). On the promenade and near Cleopatra Beach the bill is noticeably higher.

The cheapest places are where locals eat. Look for places without menus with photos in five languages and without people trying to lure you in at the door. Portions in Turkish lokantas are large, so two people often find one main dish and a salad is enough.

Drinks: water, coffee, beer

Drinks in Alanya are inexpensive if you don't buy them at the beach. A 0.33 l bottle of water at a cafe costs about 37 TRY (≈€0.66), a soft drink about 72 TRY (≈€1.30), a cappuccino about 138 TRY (≈€2.45), a 0.5 l glass of local draft beer about 193 TRY (≈€3.40) (Numbeo drink prices, 09/2026).

Beer and wine are not the cheapest item here: two glasses of draft beer cost more than a simple lunch at a cafe. Buy water at the store: a liter and a half there costs less than a small bottle at a cafe. At the beach and in the promenade bars all drinks are noticeably more expensive than at city cafes.

Groceries in stores

Groceries are your main way to save. A 500 g loaf of bread costs about 46 TRY (≈€0.82), 1 kg of rice about 87 TRY (≈€1.56), 12 eggs about 90 TRY (≈€1.60), 1 kg of chicken breast about 231 TRY (≈€4.10), 1 kg of tomatoes about 51 TRY (≈€0.90) (Numbeo grocery prices, 09/2026).

If you're renting an apartment with a kitchen, cook for yourself at least for breakfast. That moves food out of the "restaurant" category and into the "store" category. For fruit and vegetables, go to the local market: in season they're cheaper there than at the supermarket near your hotel.

Transport: buses, dolmuş, taxis

Public transport in Alanya is cheap. Since 23.03.2026 a municipal bus ride with a transport card costs 42 TRY (≈€0.75), a single ticket 46 TRY (≈€0.82), contactless bank card payment 50 TRY (≈€0.89) (as of: 09/2026, Yeni Alanya). If you ride every day, get a card: paying by bank card on board works out more expensive.

Dolmuş, shared minibuses, run on fixed routes along the coast and to neighboring towns. The price depends on the distance; ask the driver before boarding. Taxis run on the meter, and a short ride around the center usually costs a few hundred lira. In the evening and from tourist areas, ask the driver to turn on the meter right away.

Bus fares: fare table in Yeni Alanya, 03/2026. Gas for a rental car costs about 62 TRY per liter (≈1.10 €, fuel price on Numbeo, 09/2026). From Antalya Airport with luggage, a fixed-rate transfer is more convenient: book a transfer from Antalya Airport.

Entrance tickets: fortress, cave, Red Tower

Alanya's main attractions are split between two operators, and their prices are in different currencies. The inner fortress (İç Kale) and the Archaeological Museum belong to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and for foreigners they price in euros. The Red Tower (Kızılkule), the Tersane shipyard, and Damlataş Cave belong to the municipality, and prices there are in lira.

Alanya citadel walls and the dome of a Byzantine church

Entry to the inner fortress for a foreigner over 8 years old costs 12 € (as of 09/2026, Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey). In summer, from April 1 to October 1, it is open from 8:00 to 19:00. You can walk around the hill and the surrounding walls for free; only the İç Kale section is paid. Entry to the Alanya Archaeological Museum costs 4 € (as of 09/2026, Turkey museum website).

Municipal sites will cost you less. In fall 2024, the city council raised entry to Damlataş Cave to 150 TRY, and to the Red Tower and Tersane shipyard to 100 TRY (Gazete Alanya, 10/2024). Since then, rates may have gone up, so treat these as a low three-digit lira range and check at the ticket office.

MuseumPass The Mediterranean

90 € for 7 days

muze.gov.tr, 09/2026

If you plan to visit museums across the whole region, check out MuseumPass The Mediterranean on muze.gov.tr: 90 € for 7 days and one entry to more than 40 museums and excavation sites in Antalya, Mersin, Adana, and Denizli (as of 09/2026). For Alanya alone it won't pay off, but if you spend several days visiting museums and excavation sites around Antalya, it may make sense. The Turkish MüzeKart for Turkish citizens is not available to foreigners.

Excursions and trips around the region

Some activities in Alanya are paid: boat trips along the caves, jeep safaris into the Taurus Mountains, trips to Sapadere Canyon, rafting, and day tours to Antalya or Pamukkale. Prices depend heavily on the program, the season, and whether lunch and hotel transfer are included. The same tours cost more in summer.

Compare not only the price but also what is included: travel time, group size, what is covered. A cheap boat trip with a one-hour stop and paid drinks on board can end up costing more than an honest tour. Ready-made options with prices and ratings are convenient to check in advance: Alanya excursions on GetYourGuide. Choose ones that already have reviews.

What you can see in Alanya for free

Much of what matters here is free. Walking along the slopes of the castle hill, the old town, the promenade, and the city beaches cost nothing. That is enough for a couple of days without a single ticket.

  • Castle hill (Alanya Kalesi): the walls, streets, and viewpoints along the road up are open freely. Only the inner fortress, İç Kale, is paid.
  • Cleopatra Beach: a wide city beach with sand and a view of the fortress. Entry is free, sunbeds and umbrellas are paid.
  • The harbor and the Red Tower from outside: the tower is clearly visible from the promenade, entry inside is paid.
  • Tersane shipyard from the water and from the trail: the medieval dock at the foot of the hill is clearly visible from a boat and from the coastal trail.
  • Old Tepeler neighborhoods: Ottoman houses on the hillside, you can walk around without a ticket.

Walk around the fortress walls and the old town in the morning cool. Bring water: the climb is steep, and cafes at the top are more expensive than below.

How to save money in Alanya

Saving here comes down to small things. Below are tricks that genuinely lower your spending without ruining your vacation. Use them from day one.

  • Pay in lira: in tourist areas, prices are sometimes quoted in euros at an unfavorable rate. A bill in lira and card payment is almost always cheaper.
  • Eat where locals eat: turn off the promenade into neighborhoods without touts. The same food costs noticeably less, and portions are bigger.
  • Get a transport card: 42 TRY with the card versus 50 TRY with a bank card, over a week the difference adds up.
  • Shop at markets: for fruit, spices, and souvenirs, go to local bazaars, not the shops near your hotel.
  • Build your day around free things: beaches, the castle hill, the old town, and the views cost nothing.
  • Travel in the shoulder season: April to June or September to October give you warmth without summer prices for accommodation and tickets.
  • Consider renting a car as a group: for trips along the coast, a car for three or four people works out cheaper than excursions, compare car rental prices in advance.
