15 All inclusive hotels in Dubai: how to choose a base for a holiday without extra charges

«All inclusive» is less common in Dubai than in Egypt and Turkey. Most hotels in the city operate on a bed-and-breakfast or half-board basis. Beach resorts in Jumeirah and on Palm Jumeirah, where food and drinks are actually included in the rate, cost more, but they give you a clear total for the trip.

Dubai is divided into two resort zones for a beach vacation. The first stretches along Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Residence, the second lies on the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah. In Jumeirah you stay closer to the metro and shopping malls and pay less for all inclusive on average. Palm Jumeirah offers more quiet and private beaches, but it takes longer to get to the city.

1. Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach

This five-star hotel stands in the Jumeirah Beach Residence neighborhood, right by its own sandy beach. Rooms are air-conditioned, with a marble bathroom, and windows overlook the Persian Gulf. The pool is surrounded by palm trees and tropical greenery.

The dining covers almost every need. An Italian restaurant, a breakfast buffet, an evening menu with seafood. Plus a gym, spa center, massage, and a kids' club with a play area.

2. Jumeirah Emirates Towers

A hotel for business trips and city breaks, located on Sheikh Zayed Road. Rooms offer a panorama of the business district, and some are equipped with a smart home system. The restaurants serve international cuisine, with sushi, eggs, fresh juices, and fruit at breakfast.

The hotel has an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and the Talise spa. Guests are offered a free shuttle to Wild Wadi Waterpark and the Burj Khalifa. Dubai Mall is a few minutes away.

3. Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah

The hotel occupies a plot on Palm Jumeirah, with views of the Persian Gulf. Rooms come with signature beds, a furnished balcony, and a marble bathroom stocked with premium toiletries. Diving, windsurfing, fishing, and pedal boats are available on the beach.

5. Jumeirah Beach Hotel

The hotel sits right by the beach, and the Wild Wadi Water Park is located on its grounds. Guests get free access to the water park, which is a notable perk in summer. Rooms are decorated in a French style, with large windows and panoramic views of the Persian Gulf.

Guests have access to six pools, tennis courts, a diving center, and a gym. Sixteen restaurants serve Indian, Argentine, and Italian cuisine. Kids' entertainment programs and a DJ nightclub are also available.

6. JA Beach Hotel

The hotel is part of the JA resort complex, which includes three five-star properties in the Jebel Ali area. Spacious rooms are decorated in a European style, with French windows and a balcony overlooking the marina and sea sunsets.

The grounds are extensive: blooming gardens, streams, and tropical wildlife. Guests can enjoy generous breakfasts, themed dinners, and a wide choice of cuisines, including Middle Eastern, Italian, pan-Asian, and Mexican.

7. JA Lake View Hotel

The third hotel in the JA complex stands out for its modern design. The room inventory includes about 350 rooms across eight categories, from double rooms to large suites. Panoramic windows overlook the golf course and lake.

Peacocks roam freely around the grounds. The buffet restaurant changes its menu daily, and there is an English gastropub, RePUBlik, plus two themed restaurants: the Indian Kinara and the Asian White Orchid. A rooftop terrace with a lounge bar is also open.

8. Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway

This luxury hotel sits in the central part of Palm Jumeirah. It occupies two sixteen-story towers with more than five hundred rooms, suites, and apartments. The windows look out over Dubai Marina and the Persian Gulf.

There are three restaurants: Great British, the West 14th steakhouse, and the Indian Khyber. Plus the atmospheric Dukes pub, a cigar lounge, and a pool bar. There is a kids' club, and for adults a private beach, a pool, and a man-made river.

9. Aloft Palm Jumeirah

The hotel occupies a twelve-story main building on Palm Jumeirah. The rooms are done in a contemporary style with loft elements. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the bay, the Jumeirah palaces, and the Burj Al Arab, and you can enjoy the view right from the bed.

The East and Seaboard Eatery restaurant serves a full American breakfast and international dishes until evening. On the eleventh floor, the Mexican restaurant Luchador offers a 360-degree view. There is a Re:Fuel cafe, the W XYZ lounge, and a pool bar. A panoramic Re:Charge gym and a spa with a wide range of treatments are also available.

10. The Retreat Palm Dubai MGallery By Sofitel

This spa resort occupies the eastern part of the Palm Jumeirah crescent. It is a calm hotel with the Rayya wellness center and a focus on healthy living. The room inventory includes about 250 rooms and suites with views of the island and the bay.

The interiors are done in an eco style: a warm palette, wood, stone, and live plants. Food is served in four venues, from coffee at the Chapters lobby cafe to Levantine cuisine at The Social Kitchen restaurant. Water sports are available on the beach. A club lounge with a panoramic terrace and a hot tub is open on the roof. Guests have access to an infinity pool, a kids' club, saunas, and a Moroccan hammam.

The hotel sits between The Walk promenade and the yacht marina, close to the beach. The rooms are large, with free internet and French windows. The suites have a living room with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen.

Guests have access to a gym, all-season pools, fitness facilities, and a sauna. The restaurant focuses on meat dishes. In the lounge area overlooking Palm Jumeirah, you can order shisha.

This luxury hotel occupies The Walk waterfront. Guests are greeted with the signature chocolate chip cookie. The hotel has its own well-maintained beach with loungers, hammocks, and sifted sand. Several pools with bars are available, and food and shisha orders are brought to your sunbed.

The suites have a living room, and the balcony faces the Persian Gulf. The international restaurant serves a buffet with vegetables and salads. The hotel sits on The Walk promenade, in the heart of Dubai Marina. It is connected by a bridge to the neighboring hotel, and guests can use the facilities of both. There is a private beach, a gym and a pool, several restaurants and bars serving breakfast, and room service is available.

Rooms have a modern design, with windows facing the beach and Palm Jumeirah. The spa with essential oils helps you unwind. On the thirty-sixth floor there is a lounge with panoramic views. Children get a playroom and a kids' club. Guests can also use sports equipment rental, a tennis court and a business center.

The hotel stands on the Dubai Marina waterfront, with views of the marina and the promenade. All 486 rooms come with kitchen appliances, and there are two restaurants, bars and a lounge. The all-inclusive plan includes free food, drinks, desserts, ice cream and fresh-squeezed juices, with round-the-clock room service available.

15. Gateway Hotel

A non-smoking hotel in old Dubai. The rooms are modern and tidy, with free internet. There are two pools, one on the roof, a gym, and a spa with a sauna and a Moroccan bath.

Three restaurants serve a generous breakfast and dinner. There is a business center, ticket sales, and childcare. A spacious free parking garage is located underground. You can take a bus to the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, and the Twin Towers Shopping Centre is two kilometers away.

Full board is more common at beach resorts than at city hotels. In this selection it is offered by Wyndham Dubai Marina, the JA resorts, and some Palm Jumeirah hotels. Check the exact package contents when booking: they differ by rate, and alcohol and premium restaurants are sometimes charged separately.

How much does an all-inclusive vacation in Dubai cost?

The price depends on the area and the season. Dubai Marina and Jumeirah hotels are cheaper than Palm Jumeirah resorts. High season in Dubai falls in winter and the New Year holidays; in summer rates drop because of the heat. For a specific amount for your dates, check the search links for each hotel.

Where should families with children stay in Dubai?

For families, Jumeirah Beach Hotel with its free Wild Wadi water park, DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach with its own beach, and Hilton Dubai The Walk with a kids' club are convenient. The JA resorts have a separate mini club with three age groups. All of these are steps from the beach, so you don't have to drive children around the city.

The beaches on Palm Jumeirah and in Jumeirah operate year-round; the water stays warm in winter. Waldorf Astoria, Dukes The Palm, and Aloft give access to their own sections of the bay. Keep in mind that Palm Jumeirah is windier, while Jumeirah has more promenade areas and cafes with sea views.

If you are a couple and want a bay view, go for Waldorf Astoria or Dukes The Palm. If you are traveling with children, look at Jumeirah Beach Hotel or DoubleTree. If you want to stay in the center of the nightlife, Mövenpick and Ramada Plaza will work. For a budget trip with a pool, keep Gateway Hotel in mind.

Choose a hotel by area, not just by price: Jumeirah is closer to the metro and shops, Palm Jumeirah is quieter but farther from the city. Full board is almost always a better deal than paying for dinners on site.
