Southern Vietnam lives on a tropical rhythm, so there is no real winter here. From December to April, the sea at the southern beaches is calm and clean.
A convenient way to plan your route is this: first Hanoi and Halong Bay, then the central resorts of Da Nang and Nha Trang, and finally the south with Phu Quoc. This sequence follows the movement of the dry season, so you barely get caught in the rain. If you are short on time, pick one climate zone and do not mix the north with the south on a short trip.
