Phan Thiet sits on the country's southern coast. The beaches here are well maintained, and the shoreline stays shallow, so swimming with toddlers is relaxed. Hoi An is known for its mix of architectural styles: Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European. It's convenient to vacation here with children. During the day the city is busy, but after 10 p.m. all bars and cafes close and the streets become quiet. Entertainment for children

Children's entertainment isn't available at every resort in Vietnam. If children's activities matter to you, choose a city where beach time combines with parks and attractions.

Nha Trang offers the most complete lineup. The main draw: VinWonders Nha Trang on an island in the bay. The park has an aquarium, a water park, rides, and evening shows. An adult ticket costs 1,050,000 dong, a child ticket for heights from 100 to 140 centimeters costs 800,000 dong, and a ticket after 4:00 PM runs from 550,000 to 700,000 dong (as of 09/2026, the park's official website). Near the city there is also an oceanographic museum and Monkey Island.

In Da Nang, families head to Da Nang Water Park on the banks of the Han River: slides, pools, a tropical garden, and a large stage. A second option is Asia Park with a Ferris wheel, kids' rides, and a monorail. In the mountains near the city, Sun World Ba Na Hills offers cooler air and panoramic views. Buy tickets in advance and arrive at opening time: by midday the lines get long.

Da Lat is interesting for teenagers. The city is home to Crazy House, a hotel built inside the trunk of a huge tree, where you can wander staircases and caves for hours. The surrounding area has waterfalls, lakes, and small zoos that families visit together.

Vung Tau surprises with its sights. You can climb the spiral staircase inside the Christ statue and see a panorama of the city. The lighthouse observation deck offers a second vantage point. Kids usually enjoy the pagoda with the reclining Buddha and Bach Dinh Palace with its ceramics exhibition.

Vietnam's beach resorts have a tropical climate: lots of sun, high humidity, and heavy rain in the low season. The low season with tropical downpours runs from May through October. Rain usually lasts no more than half an hour, most often at night or early in the morning.

With children, it's better to visit Vietnamese beach resorts in the dry season, from December through April. In the fall, Da Nang, Hoi An, and Nha Trang get rain, so those months are best skipped for these destinations. From March to early May, the sea and air are also suitable for swimming with children.
