15 Baku hotels by the sea: which ones have their own beach

Baku sits on the Caspian coast, but not every hotel has a beach. Some properties are located in the center, where the sea is only visible from the window.

The problem is that all the names sound appealing, but access to the water varies. We reviewed 15 Baku hotels on the first line or close to it and noted which ones have a private beach and which only offer a view.

Beach season on the Absheron Peninsula runs from June through September, with the water becoming comfortable by late June (as of 09/2026, Azerbaijan Tourism Portal). In winter you still head to the sea, but for the views and indoor pools.

How to choose a seaside hotel in Baku

• Decide in advance whether you need your own beach. At city hotels, Seaside Boulevard takes its place.
• Resort hotels on the Absheron Peninsula offer more greenery and quiet, but you'll drive at least half an hour to the center.

Baku has three areas with sea access. The center and Seaside Boulevard are convenient for the city: you can walk to Old Baku and Fountain Square, and swim at the city beaches. Bibi-Heybat and Bailov offer private beaches within the city limits, but these are residential neighborhoods. Outside the city, in Shikhov and Mardakan, you'll find true resorts with gardens and water parks.

The second question is the season. The Caspian near Baku is not as warm as the Mediterranean, but the beaches here are sandy. From June through September the water is comfortable, and in winter swimming is no longer possible. In that case, look for hotels with an indoor pool and spa.

The hotel stands right on Primorsky Boulevard. According to the official Four Seasons Baku website, rooms face either the Caspian Sea or the Old City. That kind of view is worth paying extra for: from the window you see both the water and the fortress walls.

Service here is built around the guest. Staff will fulfill any request: they will shine your shoes, offer a complimentary glass of wine, bring you books about the city.

The restaurant serves traditional Italian cuisine, the bars pour signature cocktails, with alcohol and without. The hotel stands on the Caspian shore, a stone's throw from the beach, in the Bibi-Heybat settlement. It is about ten kilometers to the railway station and roughly thirty to the airport.

People come here for peace and quiet. The private beach is almost never crowded with outsiders, so you can grab a lounger at any time. If you don't feel like swimming in the sea, there is an outdoor pool, and staff will bring drinks right to your lounger.

The spa has bathhouses and saunas, and a massage therapist will give you a relaxing massage. In the fitness center you can work out under the guidance of a personal trainer. The hotel stands on the Caspian shore, with its own beach and a large green area that runs right down to the water. The outdoor pool is for swimming in the warm season, while the indoor one operates year-round.

This is the most resort-style option in the selection. The grounds are home to four restaurants serving European and Azerbaijani cuisine, as well as a lounge and a cafe where it's pleasant to sit with friends and listen to music.

For active guests there is a gym, tennis and basketball courts, and a soccer field. You can relax in the spa center, the Turkish hammam with its own pool, and a separate meditation room. Kids won't get bored: a small water park has water slides.

The hotel is located in the seaside settlement of Bibi-Heybat. It has its own beach, and a yacht marina sits right next to it, so you can book a sea trip at any time.

When is the best time for a beach holiday in Baku?
