The island's coast is divided into three parts, and each has its own swimming season. The west and south follow the same schedule: dry from December to March, rainy from May to September. The east works the opposite way. If you are flying in winter, east coast hotels will not suit you, and in summer you should not book Negombo and Hikkaduwa.
