Singapore Flyer: hours, prices and how to get there by MRT
Singapore’s observation wheel lifts you 165 meters above Marina Bay (as of 09/2026, the wheel’s official page). A full rotation takes half an hour. During that time you see the entire city center, the skyscrapers of the business district, and the gardens right by the water.

Singapore Flyer stands on the eastern shore of Marina Bay, next to the Benjamin Sheares Bridge. When it opened, it was the tallest observation wheel in the world. Today it has been overtaken by the High Roller in Las Vegas and Ain Dubai.
The wheel carries 28 capsules, and each one seats up to 28 passengers (as of 09/2026, design description). Each capsule is fully enclosed in glass, and the air conditioning works in any weather.

The wheel was built to a design by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa and the firm DP Architects. Construction began in 2005, and the attraction opened to visitors in 2008 (as of 09/2026, attraction history). Construction took about two and a half years.
The project cost S$240 million (according to the National Library Board). It is built on a lightweight steel structure with shock absorbers, so the ride stays smooth even in strong winds. You can appreciate the scale already from the waterfront: the wheel is clearly visible from the opposite shore of the bay.
City authorities saw the attraction from the start as part of the plan to develop tourism in the Marina Bay area. Today it is one of the main stops on any central city route.
Capsules: what’s inside
Each capsule looks like a large glass valise. The floor and roof are opaque, while the panoramic windows are coated with a UV-protective film. Inside, you sit on soft benches, and the air conditioning keeps it cool in any weather.
The doors open only from the outside, controlled by a spring-loaded safety mechanism. CCTV cameras monitor safety. Outside, the capsules have anchor points for evacuation. For passengers with limited mobility there are retractable ramps and a dedicated elevator at the boarding area, so getting on board takes no effort.

From the top point, a panorama of the entire center opens up. You see the skyscrapers of the business district, bridges, the National Stadium, and the Marina Bay Sands hotel. Toward the strait, ships at anchor and the outlines of neighboring islands are visible. In the evening, the city lights up, and the picture changes completely.
Below, the wheel is built into a three-story terminal. On the first floor, Chinese and Indian restaurants, coffee shops, and pastry shops operate. On the second, there is a flight simulator, a foot massage salon, and a 6D cinema for children. On the third level, shops, a nightclub, and an interactive museum are open. Around the complex, a tropical garden with a pond has been laid out.
Next to the wheel, the Time Capsule operates, an interactive exhibition about the history of Singapore. Admission to it is already included in the standard ticket (as of 09/2026, ticket page). From here, it is also easy to walk to Gardens by the Bay (Gardens by the Bay) and the Marina Bay waterfront.

Hours and ticket prices
The wheel operates every day, including holidays, from 10:00 to 22:00. Last entry is at 21:30 (as of 09/2026, schedule on the website). It is better to buy a sunset ticket in advance, as the line at the entrance is longer at that time.

How to get to the observation wheel
The complex address is 30 Raffles Avenue, Singapore 039803. The nearest MRT station is called Promenade, where the Circle Line and Downtown Line meet (as of 09/2026, transport to the wheel). From the station exit to the entrance is about a five-minute walk.
If you drive, the easiest option is the multi-level parking garage at the complex, which has 284 spaces (as of 09/2026, parking and transport). There is a separate parking area for bus groups. From Changi Airport, the drive takes about twenty minutes.
