Anthem of the Seas: cabins, restaurants and ship itineraries in 2026

A cruise replaces moving between cities with a single cabin with an ocean view. Anthem of the Seas, Quantum class, was launched in 2015 and now carries about 4,180 passengers (As of 09/2026, ShipTea guide). On board you will find the North Star capsule, the largest SeaPlex venue at sea, and more than 15 restaurants and cafes.

We broke down the cabins and decks, dining, gratuities, kids clubs, and the ship's itineraries. We also noted what changed after Anthem of the Seas relocated to the Pacific Ocean. This will help you figure out which cruise to book.

About the ship

💡 In short:

  • Anthem of the Seas is a Quantum class ship built in 2015.
  • On board there is the North Star observation capsule, the SeaPlex venue, and kids clubs.
  • Itineraries and pricing: 09/2026, verified on the official Royal Caribbean website.

Anthem of the Seas belongs to Royal Caribbean, one of the largest cruise companies in the world. It is a Quantum series ship, distinguished by a higher level of comfort and entertainment that competitors do not have. The ship carries about 4,180 passengers, with roughly 1,500 more people working as crew (As of 09/2026, ship card on ShipTea).

The ship's gross tonnage is 168,666 tons, and its length is almost 348 meters (As of 09/2026, Royal Caribbean). For a modern cruise ship, this is a normal size. Because of its dimensions, far from all ports can accept the ship, so itineraries are built around major harbors.

Entertainment on board

The Quantum class is recognized by the North Star observation capsule. The glass gondola lifts you 30 meters above the top deck and gives you a 360-degree view (As of 09/2026, official Royal Caribbean website). On sea days there are many people who want to go, so arrive when the venue opens.

SeaPlex, the largest entertainment complex at sea, attracts just as much attention. Its floor transforms in a couple of hours from a roller rink into a driving simulator or a circus school. Nearby there is a basketball court, table tennis tables, and a fitness center with modern equipment.

The Two270° lounge occupies a two-level hall with huge windows. By day it is a quiet observation area, by night a stage with screens that transport you to a forest or a fantasy world.

Entertainment on the ship runs around the clock. The main theater hosts Broadway-style productions, and the music hall features interactive shows and musical evenings. Movies are shown on the open deck, and at the green felt tables in Casino Royale you can play cards.

During the day the options get even wider. A spa, beauty salon, and solarium suit those who want to relax. A rock climbing wall, the FlowRider artificial wave, and the iFly wind tunnel will appeal to active guests. The outdoor water park with cannons, fountains, and geysers turns into a laser show venue in the evening.

For loyalty program members and guests in grand suite cabins and above, two VIP areas are open: Diamond Club and Concierge Club. You get access there with your guest card.

Restaurants and dining

The My Time Dining service lets you choose a restaurant for dinner and reserve a table in advance in the Cruise Planner app.

In total there are more than 15 restaurants and cafes on board serving signature cuisine. Two venues are considered exclusive. Coastal Kitchen invites guests in suite class cabins, and at Chef's Table dishes are served personally by the head chef.

For traditional European cuisine, look to The Grande and Chic. Asian menus are offered at Silk, Izumi, and Windjammer. For pizza and Mediterranean delicacies, go to Sorrento's or Jamie's Italian. American cuisine awaits you at American Icon Grill, Chops Grille, and Johnny Rockets. For a light snack, The Café @ Two70°, Solarium Bistro, SeaPlex Dog House, and Café Promenade work well.

Gratuities and dress code

Gratuities are not included in the fare and are added to your bill on board. You can pay them in advance when booking. The amount depends on the cabin class and is regularly revised; check the exact figure for 2026 on the Royal Caribbean website.

There is no strict dress code. It is not customary to come to restaurants and evening events in beach or athletic wear. Sportswear will be useful in the fitness center, casual clothes for excursions in ports, and for evenings bring dressier attire.

Kids clubs

Children's activities on the ship are organized by age-based programs (As of 09/2026, Royal Caribbean on kids clubs). The Royal Babies & Tots club accepts children from 6 months to 3 years old. Interactive activities introduce little ones to the world around them and build basic skills.

The Adventure Ocean club is designed for ages 3 to 11. It offers developmental activities, tournaments, karaoke, drawing, and talent shows. For teens aged 12 to 17, a separate club operates: communication games, themed evenings, debates, and discos. This way you can leave your kids and take care of your own things.

Cabins and decks

Anthem of the Seas has 18 decks and roughly 2,090 cabins (as of 09/2026, ShipTea catalog). Some inside cabins are equipped with a virtual balcony: a wall-sized screen shows a real-time view from the ship. There are also cabins for guests with disabilities.

Cruise ship side with cabins and lifeboats

There are three cabin classes: standard, studio, and suites. Standard cabins and suites differ in size and whether they have a balcony, and among the suites there are two-level lofts with panoramic windows. Every cabin comes with air conditioning, a hair dryer, a TV, a minibar, and a safe.

Cabins occupy deck 3 and decks 6 through 13. On deck 3, besides cabins, you'll find the theater (which rises to deck 5), the Music Hall, the casino, and two main dining rooms. The remaining restaurants, the card room, the shore excursions desk, and the photo studio are on decks 4 and 5. The two-level Two270° lounge sits at the stern on deck 5. The Adventure kids' club is on decks 11 and 12, and the solarium is at the bow on deck 13. The upper decks are dedicated to entertainment, cafes, and restaurants: the water park, the SeaPlex complex, and the spa (deck plan: 09/2026, Royal Caribbean deck plan).

Sailing regions

Anthem of the Seas was long based in New York and sailed the US East Coast, Bermuda, Canada, and the Caribbean. In 2026 the ship sails Alaska from Seattle, but these regions remain in demand among cruisers. Below we break down each one: what to see and what makes it different.

Bermuda

Bermuda from space in the Atlantic Ocean

The archipelago is known for its pink sand beaches and its pirate history, as pirates once used the islands as a stopover. Here you'll find lagoons, coral reefs, botanical gardens, and crystal caves. Ships dock at King's Wharf: they can't reach the capital, Hamilton, so you get to the city by ferry or bus.

Canada

This region is chosen for the beauty of its coastline. The Atlantic shapes the local climate, so don't expect tropical greenery here. This is a land of untouched nature, rugged landscapes, nature reserves, and national parks. Cliffs covered in evergreens are a common shot in travelers' photos. Go in the fall: the few deciduous trees turn orange and red.

The islands draw you in with vivid colors and beach vacation opportunities. Here you'll see fiery sunsets, soft pink sunrises, emerald greenery, and a colorful underwater world. Only a small part of the islands is inhabited, so untouched corners are the norm here. Add a distinctive culture that even pirates had a hand in shaping, and it's easy to see why the region is so popular.

US East Coast

The influence of cold Atlantic waters weakens as you move toward the equator, so the climate depends on the latitude you choose. Northern Boston and Portland are closer to Canadian conditions, while the southern coast is noticeably warmer. The ports differ too: serious, university-town Boston with Harvard, and laid-back Canaveral with endless beaches and a national wildlife refuge.

Cruises and itineraries

In 2026, Anthem of the Seas operates seven-night Alaska cruises from Seattle. The ship calls at Sitka, Skagway, Juneau, and Victoria. In the fall, it heads out on repositioning voyages via Honolulu to Sydney. Below are the itineraries the ship previously operated from New York. Prices depend on the season, voyage length, and cabin category, so check exact amounts for your travel dates. See current Anthem of the Seas cruises on the partner's website.

On this six-day voyage, the ship calls at just two ports. It departs from Port Liberty in New York. The second call is the small pier at King's Wharf on Ireland Island, where the ship stays for two days. From the port, you can easily reach the capital, Hamilton, or neighboring islands by ferry or bus: a zoo and aquarium, parks, wild stone arches, and beaches.

USA, East Coast, 9 nights

From New York, the ship heads east along the coast. The voyage begins with Boston, where you should see Boston Common and walk the Freedom Trail. The next stop, Portland, is known for its breweries.

After that, the ship calls at Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island, where the streets preserve a sense of history and locals make their living harvesting lobsters. Ahead lies the largest natural harbor, the ice-free Canadian city of Halifax, and foggy Saint John among the cliffs. In Saint John, it's worth seeing the reversing falls: at high tide, the river's current reverses and the waterfall disappears.

Bahamas, 8 nights

On this voyage, the ship calls at four ports. After leaving New York, it spends several days at sea, giving you time to appreciate the onboard entertainment. The first port of call is Canaveral, with its lighthouse, spaceport, and the Kennedy Space Center. An hour away lies Orlando with its theme parks: Kennedy Space Center excursions should be booked in advance.

From there, the ship heads to the Bahamas, and the introduction begins with the capital, Nassau. Here you'll find forts, casinos, the Queen's Staircase, the Atlantis Bridge, and Rawson Square. The last stop before New York is CocoCay, an island owned by Royal Caribbean. Guests are offered beaches, a water park, diving, and snorkeling.

Caribbean, 11 nights

This twelve-day Caribbean voyage begins with the port of San Juan on the third day. The capital of Puerto Rico is famous for its Old Town, part of which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its beaches. Two fortresses remain here, and at the world's largest Bacardi rum distillery, you can take a tour.

Next, the ship calls at Charlotte Amalie in the Virgin Islands, which offers views of the entire archipelago. The ship then heads to Basseterre, where Independence Square recalls the former slave market, and nearby lie salt lakes and Mount Misery. The next stop is St. John's on Antigua, the region's gambling capital, with a fort and a cathedral. Before returning to New York, the ship calls at St. Maarten with the town of Philipsburg, where there's a fort, a museum, a zoo, and a butterfly farm.

What's included in the fare

The cruise fare includes your cabin, meals in the three main dining rooms on an all-inclusive basis, and access to the onboard entertainment facilities (as of 09/2026, Royal Caribbean terms). You pay once and get a baseline vacation with no extra charges for food and activities.

Alcoholic drinks and gratuities are paid separately (as of 09/2026, Royal Caribbean rates). Specialty restaurants, spa treatments, and shore excursions are booked separately, and you can check prices on board or on the cruise line's website. Plan your budget in advance so the final bill doesn't come as a surprise.

When to go and what to pack

On a cruise you depend on the weather less than on a regular trip: you spend part of your time on board. But it's still nicer when the voyage falls in the warm season. The universal window is May through September, and for Alaska that is exactly the season (as of 09/2026, ShipTea schedule).

Canada and the northern part of the East Coast depend less on the weather because those itineraries are about sightseeing, not beaches. You can go there from April through October. Island destinations, the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas, are best chosen in April and May, before hurricane season starts in June.

For packing, you'll need the usual traveler's kit. The main thing is to bring your documents and money; everything else you can buy on board or in port if needed.
