🌴 Sex tourism in Thailand: everything you wanted to know

Some people go to Thailand to ride elephants, others for the warm sea and delicious fruits, and still others want to broaden their horizons and, perhaps, achieve enlightenment. But there are also those who are looking for spicy entertainment. Such people go straight to Phuket, Bangkok or Pattaya – a city that is considered the center of sex tourism in Thailand. Let's try to figure out how easy and accessible everything is there.

Arriving in Pattaya for the first time, the question arises: where to start? So, we put ourselves in order and in the late afternoon we go to Walking Street – one of the streets of the city, which runs close to the embankment. It is there that we will find the answer to the question that interests us.

Walking Street translated from English means “pedestrian street”. Its length is only 1 km, during the day it is in no way remarkable and no different from other streets in Pattaya: pedestrians scurry back and forth, cars and mopeds drive by. However, from 19:00 vehicular traffic stops, and the street is completely at the mercy of pedestrians.

If you feel a little awkward about upcoming acquaintances, it's time to drink. To do this, there are all kinds of bars at every step, where you can simply sit down at a table, order a beer or cocktail and look around.

However, it is better to buy alcohol at one of the 24-hour stores, such as 7/11, and make your own cocktail in designated areas. It will cost several times less. Don't worry, a drunk tourist is a common occurrence in Pattaya.

Street magicians, jugglers and musicians, billiard rooms, bars, snack bars and souvenir shops – you will see all this around you. And also – crowds of girl barkers who stand near almost every establishment in the hope of luring a new client. Believe me, a simple walk along Walking Street can take a couple of hours, during which you will get a lot of impressions. Everything is decent here, so you can walk with your children – after all, all the most interesting things happen behind closed doors.

Yes, by the way, you should immediately get used to the fact that local girls will show you attention, and sometimes brazenly pester you, grabbing various parts of your body. Don't hesitate to gently refuse. They may be upset, but not for long, because you are not the only tourist in Pattaya. Better take a walk and take a closer look – you will still have time to choose.

If you are vacationing as a couple, then you do not need to worry. The local contingent is considerate and will not push you away from your companion or force your acquaintance. But in this case, you deprive yourself of the opportunity to experience the true beauty of Pattaya at night. So what is there about it that you can’t find at other resorts?    

Go-Go bars

If you want to dance, go to nightclubs. If you like to watch others dance, then go to Go-Go bars. There are a great many of them on Walking Street on a variety of topics, but inside you will always find a dance show of scantily clad girls. For example, in the Alcatraz bar, stylized as a prison, the heroines of the show are dressed in police uniforms and prison uniforms, and in the Airport bar you can enjoy the company of “stewardesses”.

In fact, what happens in these bars can hardly be called dancing. Girls in themed costumes move sexually to the music, more trying to excite customers than to entertain. Waitresses and dancers periodically change places, serve drinks around the hall, flirt with guests and are not at all against intimate touches and new acquaintances.

I will also mention other establishments. In the Jenny Star Bar, shows are put on by transpersons, Club Boesche is suitable for women with homosexual orientation, and in the Beach Club bar, apparently, it is very hot – girls dance in front of visitors without underwear. And for men with homosexual orientation there is even a separate Boyz Town area, but they can also find a suitable place to relax on Walking Street.

In all establishments the scheme is quite simple. But I’ll tell you the example of a show for men: you watch performances and drink, and you can start a conversation with the girl you like and treat her to a drink. If the sympathy is very strong, the lady can be taken away. However, keep in mind that in this case you will have to pay the establishment the so-called bar fine – compensation for the time the girl did not work. Prices vary: from 300 to 800 baht (from $9 to $23).

The girl herself will also have to pay. Keep in mind that pure and bright love is not for Pattaya, everything here has a price. However, if you know how to bargain, you can always bring down the price. 

Also keep in mind that pricing is influenced by a number of factors: the age and appearance of the property for rent, the level of the establishment and the time when you do it. For example, closer to the closing of the bar, prices will be lower, but keep in mind that the most unattractive people will still have access.  

Mutual sympathy also plays an important role. If you are a young, handsome guy who can speak well, then you have a greater chance of getting a good discount. To put it very generally, the average cost of hiring a girl for a short time will be 1,500 baht ($45).

In addition, we recommend that you remember some concepts. Short time is eating a girl for an hour or until the client orgasms. Long time stipulates that she will stay with you overnight. You can even find a companion who will accompany you throughout your vacation. In one person you will get a sex partner, a guide, and a housekeeper who will go shopping, cook and even take you around the city. Such a companion will cost you less in the long run, but ask yourself: will she get boring after a couple of days?

Spicy shows

If you suddenly think that you have seen everything, then some establishments in Pattaya will convince you of this. There is a separate category of clubs where performers on stage do simply unimaginable things with the help of their genitals. 

Look out for signs with the names “Sex Show” and “Pussy Show”. A ticket to such an establishment costs an average of 500 baht ($15). Usually this price also includes a cocktail. Please note that if admission is free, drink prices will be higher. But don't think you can see the show without paying. In all establishments with free entry, you will have to buy at least one drink, otherwise you will be asked to leave.

Legendary Thai massage 

Salons are divided into two types: those that provide traditional Thai massage, and salons that offer body massage (full body massage). A regular massage will cost from 200 to 500 baht ($6-15), but we are not very interested in it. We are looking for a salon with the sign “Body massage”, where everything is much more interesting and, naturally, more expensive.

Inside you will be greeted by Mama-san or Papa-san, the local manager, who will offer you to choose one or more girls you like. Prices vary: from 1000 to 5000 baht ($30-150). It all depends on the level of the salon, age and external data of a particular girl. The session lasts 1.5 hours.

In a separate room with all amenities, you can take a shower, steam in a sauna, and a pretty Thai woman will rub foam on you with her naked body, massage you and tone you up. Intimate communication is included in the price. If you want to get only a massage, you should warn the girl about this by saying: “no boom boom,” which means “no sex.”  

Economy class is not the worst option

If you want to save money, you can always find a freelance girl who works for herself. In groups or one at a time, they trample from foot to foot on almost any street. But there are few nice ones and that’s a fact. However, with due diligence, you can find quite attractive options in clubs and bars who are ready to spend time with you just for a treat.

If you don’t like noisy places, it doesn’t matter. You can find a company without even leaving your room, for example, by registering in the Tinder dating application. Believe me, hundreds of girls will start writing to you asking for friendship, but, of course, not for free.

Meetings with Katoi 

Transpersons, also known as katoi, are a natural phenomenon in Thailand, and there are really a lot of them there. If during the meeting you forgot to specify the price, this is still half the problem. But what you definitely should never forget is to ask the gender of the person you like. Modern plastic surgery has reached such heights that some women are indistinguishable from women, while others are even superior to them in attractiveness. Therefore, do not be shy and ask, they will always answer you honestly.

Bars with oral sex

Quite a popular form of entertainment among men. Prices in such places vary depending on the level of the establishment. For example, in a “Classic Style” class establishment (middle level) you will have to pay 350 baht ($10) for entry and leave the girl a tip of 500 baht ($15), as well as for the drinks you drink. For those who are shy, there is a private room, which will cost another 500 baht ($15).  

How to meet people on the street?

First you should say hello and ask: how are you? Don't worry if your English is not at the highest level, local Thai women are fluent in sign language. Offer to go somewhere and have a drink. Know that the drunker the girl, the easier it is to negotiate a discount with her. After spending some time together, offer to go with you to the hotel.

If the girl agrees, discuss the price and time of mutual love in advance. There's nothing wrong with that. It’s better not to take a girl to your room, but to rent a room with an hourly rate in one of the guesthouses, of which there are plenty near Walking Street. These are ordinary precautions, because no one is safe from scammers and thieves. It’s also better not to give money in advance; pay only after the fact.    

Precautionary measures

First and most importantly, always use protection. You need to understand that you are not the first client, so it is better to bring home souvenirs rather than a bouquet of sexually transmitted diseases.

Do not take out large sums of money on the street. Places with large concentrations of tourists, where most of them are drunk, are a paradise for pickpockets.

And don’t forget about one more thing: the girl you pay for sex is not a commodity, not a thing, and certainly not your property, treat her with respect. The point is not even that she may have strong comrades, but in ordinary human relations.
